Ayy, very nice game! Despite having to use so many keys to play, it's manageable and easy to understand for me, as 2 hands are separated both on keyboard and in-game. With the different coloured quarters it helps readability a lot, tho it's sometimes a little difficult to judge distance, but that's something you can get used to. Music fits the levels well (I haven't experienced any de-sync), so it almost feels like you're playing the music. It sometimes leads to high difficulty, but there's no lose condition, so it's fine.
Visuals are good (what's up with the egg at the top? lol).
Music is super nice too. Overall a great game.

Very nice game. The only complaint I have is that the keys are separated for both hands and I'm unable to play like that lol, I kept pressing G or H. Solution would be to either visually separate the keys for left and right hand or add an option to have them all inline on the keyboard, without separation.
Other than that, everything is great, good game.

Yes, I agree about the decorative objects. I was also thinking they might be too saturated/contrasting.
And the levels are indeed unclear. All the levels were made during the last hours of the jam, so didn't have enough time to add indication where the exit is etc.
Thanks.

Exit is the hole in the ground. If we had a day or 2 more, I would add some visualisation where the exit is. Thanks.

Yep, due to lack of time I couldn't add any visualisation. Thanks.

thanks!

Thanks!

Fun experience, decent audio and visuals. Starting cards feel a little weak and later on it gets rather chaotic and there isn't much feedback when hit, so it often feels as if I lost HP for no reason, so the best strategy turned out to be staying far away from the mushrooms :)
Very fun game!

Thanks! Tbh I lost count of all these features and overscoped a lot. I wanted to add many more cards and ability to choose a starting deck.
If only I had one more day I'd add some audio!

I explained everything in the "How to Play" tab in the main menu, so I think it should be clear enough what to do.
And yes, had no time to add sound or music, will add it in a post-jam version.

Overall it's a good game. Simple, but very polished. Leaderboard is a nice addition. Though the taking actions to the beat thing is rather limiting. There is no indication other than music and buildings in the background. Also I think you could only take 1 action at a time so I couldn't attack and jump at the same time or the time for each beat is too short, so it was a little difficult. But it was definitely an enjoyable experience.

Interesting idea. Game mostly looked and played well, though the jump and speed of dissolving were rather unforgiving.

Thanks!

Thanks! I'll add those in the post-jam version

Yep, that's the plan for the future post-jam versions.

Amazing game. Simple yet fun rules and very high level of polish.

Big issue with character being out of view. But otherwise it's a cool game.

Amazing. Haven't seen a typing game like this before. Having to look at the screen and aim at the keys is more fun that I expected haha, got 251 points. Maybe if there was an option to add your own word sets it could also count as an educational game :p

Interesting idea, but it was unclear how to catch monsters and some towers didn't shoot at enemies for a few waves. But overall the game is nice and I liked the art.

Thanks, would add music if I had more time.
But hey, you can always listen to your own music :p

Thanks :)
Didn't have time for audio :(

Thanks, also stop flooding the leaderboard lol

Thanks :)

Thanks for the amazing feedback.

About the difficulty I'm not exactly sure how to tweak it, because right now it's just multipliers depending on the wave and stage. This is I think fair after doing some testing and easy start is not an issue because next stages are harder.

About the deck, I know it's a big issue. I designed it in a few minutes from the cards I made before. I originally planned to give player a choice of 3 decks and maybe even ability to buy packs and edit the deck, but I didn't have enough time to make more cards.

Omce again, thanks for feedback, I will make sure to apply some of your ideas when I have the time to improve this game after the jam.

Interesting idea with building a level from pieces, tho it wasn't clear enough that it's related to the theme until I read it on the submission page. Also player speed is way too high and hanging on walls is often interrupting my jumps. And the difficulty curve is a bit steep, first levels were obvious, but then I was lost and had to take some time to come up with a solution and finish the level.
I liked both audio and visuals, so if the issues I mentioned were to be fixed I could see myself play it for a long time.

I added the redraw mechanic which should decrease the chance of a bad starting hand by a lot. And I agree with lack of ability to differentiate enemies. It took me about 5 minutes to make each sprite and due to lack of time I couldn't add any other indication. Thanks for feedback.

Yep,  didn't have time to polish it. Any other feedback?

Thanks, sound and music are among many features I couldn't add because of the time.

It was a solid game overall. Good visuals and music. Movement felt good, the speed was just right.
Because of the life regeneration, difficulty was greatly decreased, so Normal difficulty should be manageable even for less skilled players, which is good.
Some bullets were very small and hitbox felt a little big sometimes, but it still worked well. Good game.

Yes.

(1 edit)

The game doesn't want to run for me. It loads up to 100% and after a few minutes still nothing happens. Tried refreshing, tried using microsoft edge (usually I use firefox), but it wouldn't work :(

problem? ;)

Amazing visuals and audio. Gameplay felt satisfying, but it was a bit difficult. I got stuck on level 11.

It's a fun boss rush game. Audio and visual are great, but some of the sprites (some bullets) don't match the artstyle and sometimes it's hard to see what's going on as it's only 2 colours.
But overall it's a solid game.

Despite the good visuals and audio I couldn't enjoy the game due to its unfair difficulty. Movement speed is way too high and I kept running into bullets. Because of that I couldn't get past the second level. The fact that it resets the whole game when dying makes it even worse.

I really like this game. Finally a goal other than destroying enemies or surviving.
Both visuals and audio are great and the enemy patterns don't get boring.
Hitbox seems to be very tiny, so you can get very close to the bullets.
But I think the current score should be displayed. Also the punishment for getting hit isn't noticable (I think it decreases time by a second?).
Overall it's very good.

Game is super simple, but fun. I like both the art and audio.
There could be some more patterns and best time displayed, but it's still fun.

It's pretty good overall. Of course art is great, but movement felt good too.
It lacked any kind of sounds or music. And the levels are hard and require a lot of precision.

Overall the game is really solid. It looks and sounds great and the combat feels good.
It's a little difficult and there is no feedback when you're hit, but otherwise it's a great game.

Great game. I love tower defense genre and bullethell games, so I enjoyed this combination.
Art was great and music was good too, but it was a little repetitive.
What the game lacks is a way to slow down the player movement to avoid tighter patterns and it definitely doesn't have enough lives. With movement speed this high it's easy to accidentally run into a bullet and patterns get hard even before wave 5. Because of that I could never test the most expansive tower. And it looked so cool...
