Hmm that's an interesting direction you toke for your game

Developer

Thanks for playing my game and share your impressions

I'm not sure if I can rate this fairly since playing with that emulator is a bit annoying, I also didn't quite understand how it fit the theme, but I like the simple artstyle and the ambient

Developer

Thanks for the feedback on the game. Glad you liked some parts of the game.

P.S.

I understand you and I understand that the emulator cannot betray those feelings when you play the game on a computer. In any case, I am very pleased that you played it.

Very difficult to play. It seemed like my shots only could go in one direction. Once enemy got on top of me, I couldn't figure out how to kill it and when I died and restarted, it would restart on top of me and I'd immediately die again. I do admire you trying out something different and your art style was cool. There aren't enough 1-bit games out there.

Developer

I think the design of the game was really neat, but I (like others) had a bit of trouble controlling the emulator. Maybe someday I'll make an arduboy and at that point hopefully I remember your game so I can come back and give it a try where it was meant to be played. Congrats on finishing the jam and posting your game!

a game inside a game, amazing!

Very different with the emulator. I did keep dying very quickly.

Interesting game! I liked the emulator style of it and the graphics in general.

I did run into a problem where every time I started, I would spawn on an enemy and instantly die.

This is a really cool prototype and I'd love to see what you can do with it!

Check out my game if you get a chance!

I have checked your game as well ;)

its a neat idea but the game is kind of weird getting started and since you cant move around the enemies its hard to attach them when they're above or below. i also liked the art. good game

Like the cute little Link's Awakening like art style. But I couldn't get to grips with the emulator very easily

I understand that with the emulator you don’t have such exciting experience.

Wish I had an Arduboy! Love the style of the game but it was hard to get a good feel for the controls in the emulator.

GREAT JOB BRO!!!

Developer

THANKS, BUDDY! Glad you liked this game, this is very important for me

Amazing :) i'm sure you had to deal with some limitations. One thing that i didn't like was that its not really clear when im attacking, maybe improve the animation next time :)  i eventually reached 35 kills by shooting at the right edge ;p But overall good work :)

Developer

Thanks for playing the game) Glad to see that you liked it.

Yeah, the limitation was the memory + some interesting or even unusual experience with the animations and creating the world ;)

Awesome game, I haven't heard of the Arduboy until just now! Looked into it a bit and I think it makes the game that much more impressive. I think one thing you could add is a menu option to show controls. How did you learn about the Arduboy and what made you want to develop in it? Great work!

Developer

Thanks for the review) Glad to hear that you liked it. It’s very important to me.

Approximately 3 years ago I have bought it but I didn’t work with it cuz it was a little bit hard as it doesn’t have any features like Unity or Unreal or other engines only one library. I like some challenges + after working on this hardware you understand how to optimize your game (because Arduboy has a limit size of memory only 32 kB).

I studied it in all sorts of forums since there are practically no video tutorials.
