Great game! Art was beautiful, take on the theme was original, gameplay was entertaining.
My main quibble is that there is no disincentive for firing without caring what you are shooting. As a result, I unfortunately did not pay attention whatsoever to the dice mechanic. It was as if the enemies were just larger damage sponges. This was doubly so with the boss.
Here are my two recommendations:
First, make it worth the players while to pay attention to the dice, be that through a combo system that rewards shooting only the appropriate dice while disposing of the others or by making each shot that hits an enemy but is not the proper dice hurt you instead. Or maybe make the dodge available only when a combo is maintained!
Second, put the dice at the cursor instead of the player character. Whenever I play these types of games, my focus is on the cursor while the character is in my periphery.
Great game otherwise! Loved the art, music, and the take on the theme. Just needs a bit more to fully integrate the theme,
Very fun game to play !
I did get frame drops when fighting the boss, but that might be due to the fact that I played on the browser ?
This was one of the most well-polished games I've seen yet in the jam. The art, the juice, the palette, the game feel, everything is just spot-on, and it really elevates this to being one of the best action games I've rated so far. Like Sam Gordon said, near the end I kind of just kept firing until I got what I needed since the reload was so fast (maybe a shuffle/reordering for your die would've helped?) but otherwise this is a fantastic entry!
It looks fantastic and was great fun to play! It feels awesome to snipe something from across the room with a die! Great work.
Really clean art and great game feel! I liked the fast-paced feel. It might be cool if you had to find or earn dice somehow, as it felt like I could just roll indefinitely until I got what I needed. Great work!
I really like this game, fun and polished, the juice is just right and aslo the music is cool
Wow, the animations are really smooth and crisp. and the game is really fun, great work!
Wonderful visuals and animation! Fun game too.
An intense game. It's fun and engaging, and I like the way you put the instructions in the game. Cool game, well done!
This game was so fun to play! The shooting was very fun, the boss was tough but doable, the enemies were fun, the art was great, and the music was good. Good Job!
very cool game great animations and good mechanics
This is a really cool game. The art and mechanics are really great, Great job!
This was a really awesome game! It offered fun and chaotic gameplay, I love the overall aesthetic and art style of the game, and you can really see how the theme was used here.
Oh, I did find a minor bug where there were the exclamation mark indicators next to the enemies despite the die not matching with the player's, but it didn't affect my experience at all. Great job!
This was awesome!! Loved the particle effects, movement was smooth, the bomb enemies made things seem frantic. Boss fight was perfect. I wish there was an indication of how many levels there were left though. Additionally a re-roll without dashing would have been nice (maybe on m2) but I'm just nitpicking.
Awesome job!
enjoyed the game very much but i could just brute force shoot all enemies without checking the dice number. I liked that you added the exclamation when they have the same number makes it very accessible
This is an amazing game, just a really great job! I wasn't able to move around normally so I just dashed the whole time, still had a blast! I guess the browser wasn't accepting the wasd or space controlls but just with the mouse it was great!
Thank you! That's unfortunate about the movement, there are executable downloads on the game's page if you're inclined to give it a try.
Thanks so much for playing, glad you still had fun despite the movement issue!
Beautiful art! gameplay is also on point, everything looks and feel amazing x3
Very cool game! But there are some things I would have liked:
The boss also left the room. It kinda got stuck at the entrance of the room so I could just cheese the boss.
Other than that, the game is very fun and the music, sfx, art and the overall feeling of playing the game was excellent! great job!
Cool game. Fun to play.
During the boss fight the boss left the room. It came back, but for a bit I thought I wouldn't be able to finish the game.
Very fun and original game, I watched a little bit of the streams while you were making it but couldn’t stay long as I needed to work on my own project haha. Loved the art style and it felt very polished overall especially given the time constraints. Hopefully you come back to this game in the future
