Nice little game, I think the difficulty ramps up a bit too fast though. On my second play through I realised you don't have time to kill each wave before dealing with the souls.
I found the symbols for the religions a bit hard to see - there were kinda fuzzy.
I'm on a laptop, so no real mouse which made it even harder but it was a fun game

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm sorry the game is too hard, I didn't had time to balance it. And I have to change the resolution, so the icons could be more readable. I don't know how you did in a Laptop! I understand now why you think you don't have the time to deal with the souls ;-) Glad you had some fun!

I'm 9th :D

Developer

Congrats! It's getting harder and harder to get to the leaderboard :-) And thanks for playing!

I almost broke my mouse. Enemies are so numerous. Very hard game.
Well dome

Developer

I think we can say its a intense experience ;-) Thanks for playing and commenting, I'm glad you had some fun!

I like the historic aspect and the art and design seemed good, there was probably more to this game than I took in as I couldn't quite get my head around it.

An easier learning curve would have helped maybe cutting down the option until you play and get the hang of things.

Developer(+1)

It's true the game is a bit hard and goes directly from calm to a lot of ennemies in less then 5 min, but thanks for trying :-) In a next version I'm surely balance it better so more people can enjoy it!

Submitted(+1)

This game is a good amount of challenge! I like the mechanic that lets you jump between the living world and the underworld to steal the souls of those you've purged. It'd be really cool if each type of soul that you collect gives you energy for a specific one use ability associated to the soul type.

Very fun!

Developer(+1)

Great Idea for the souls powers! I was thinking about giving each Greek God a power overtime, and your idea of the souls could be like a kind of Mana. Thanks for playing and the good suggestion!

Submitted(+1)

Hectic game and a great idea. I don't know how some people got so many points. I just want to smite them :-)

Great submission, very original. Thanks a lot.

Developer

I don't know how they got the high score neither (generally, I'm not the best in my own games ;-) I'm glad you enjoyed it and that the game woke your competitor spirit! Thanks for playing!

I like the idea of the game. I think it ramps up in difficulty really REALLY fast and overwhelms you. Maybe slow down the timer some for the underworld dead bodies a bit. Even an extra 50% of time will make it more forgiving but still challenging when you get to higher numbers.

The overall concept is awesome though. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for playing and for the comment! I should have playtest it more too implement a better difficulty curve... But now that you are all testing, I'm sure the next version will be more balanced. And I also wanted to add different powers (from the Gods temples) and other kinds of difficulty (souls wandering ofr example).

Oh yeah, and this is a Jam, these games are going to have broken elements or need work. We ALL are in that space. Great job with getting the core game in there though. Be happy and proud!

Submitted(+1)

Fun game. Short and sweet. Great job adding the leaderboards feature.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, the leaderboard is quite easy to implement with the Godot Engine. There's an free addon from SilentWolf that does almost everything!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! Fun, and good challenge! Loved the idea of switching the world to gain more points.

Nice done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Having to manage 2 games at once is stressfull, but I'm happy you found it interesting!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun and challenging! Cool detail to include a leaderboard, I liked it. Good work!

Submitted

By the way the first 2 times I played I could not hear anything, neither music nor sound effects (I think it was not my computer). Only after reloading the browser and entering again it worked fine.  I hope it helps you.

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting! The leaderboard is a free addon from SilentWolf really easy to implement, all my score games have it now :-) And I'll look into the sound problem, but I don't really know where to start... Anyway, I'm glad you had some fun!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, so intense!  I appreciated the difficulty tuning, it was very engaging.  Overall just a really good, cohesive game.  Leaderboard was cool, got second place.  :-)

A couple very minor critiques.  The next wave doesn't start even if the current wave is already completed, so maybe some people would like a button to skip the timer.  And sometimes I would try to go back to the real world from the underworld because the temples were under attack, but clicking the real world button wouldn't work so I would have to keep trying to click it.  Not sure if that was caused by some spirits being too close to the button or what.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and enjoying it! Many people thought it was too hard, so I don't know if can make it faster or harder, I'll have to put a lot of play testing in it... And you're right about the button, it doesn't work if there are souls in it (it was that or not getting the souls...). Your critiques are very constructive, I'll try my best to make a better version next time!

Submitted(+1)

Great use of the theme and a great idea. I think it gets a bit to fast paced. Whether it be increasing the amount of time before resurrection, slowing pausing resurrection timers when in the overworld, or something else, I think it needed to slow down a bit. By the end, I had enemies reviving while I was still trying to kill of the enemies coming in. The symbols on the spirits get a bit cluttered as well when there are a lot in later levels. The idea is so cool and clever though! I think iterating and polishing on ideas here would make for a super cool game. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I needed a lot of play testing for a better balance and I'm getting from you guys! I'm sure version 2.0 will be more interesting in termes of difficulty curve! I'm glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Me: "This is really fun and kind of eas-OH MY GOD". kudos to you, this was really great, love the concept and the chaotic feeling!

Developer

Maybe a little too chaotic? There's only 6min of gameplay, so it gets intense really quickly... I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

That got hectic really quick. haha Good game! :D

Developer

Thanks, it's true that I made an exponential difficulty curve ;-) Glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Great submission. Great use of assets and everything fits in nice. The high score was very nice touch. Inspired me play even more and try get into the top 10 which  I did. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the comment! And great job entering the top 10, more people play harder it gets ;-)

Submitted(+1)

I'm a fan and I've added it to my collection so I can get on that highscore table.

The first game I've wanted to look at the source for:

1. For that fullscreen button and

2. For that highscore table

I like how you have to decide whether to stay up or down, and I like how progression is based on remembering what religion is where.

Great game.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked! For your source questions, this a Godot Engine game, so things are a little different:

1 - Is just a button with a simple command OS.window_fullscreen = true in GDscript

2 - The leaderboard is a free addon from SilentWolf that's pretty easy to implement

And thanks for the design comments, remebering the position of the religions was a "hidden" mechanic and I appreciate that you notice it!

Submitted(+1)

Really nicely polished game! The leaderboard and tutorial dialogs were a nice touch. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! The tutorial took a lot of time and I know a lot of people don't read it, so is nice to have your feedback. There's not a lot of mechanics, but I tried to polish them all, so its great you appreciated!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game, love the leaderboard.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! And the leaderboard is quite easy to integrate if you use the Godot Engine. It's an free addon from SilentWolf, you should check it out :-)

Submitted(+1)

That was a frantic game. The theme shows through on this game very well. The mechanic of switching between screens is nice. It is hard to differentiate the symbols on the souls sometimes however when they all pile up in the same area.  It was easy to play and figure out, but difficult to succeed. Nice Idea and Game entry.

Developer

Thank you very much, I really tried to make a mechanic from the theme, so its nice you noticed :-) It's sure that in higher waves souls are in top of one another, so I'll make a system to avoid that in the future.

(+1)

Wow really cool game. I really liked the second layer of having to manage the real world and underworld at the same time. Audio and camera effects make for great cues on what's going on.

really good job!

Developer

Thank you very much! I've being working on improving the feedback on my games, so your comment is much appreciated! I'm glad you enjoyed!
