I like the game mechanics, it got panicky real quick.

Developer

Chaos start pretty quickly and the goal was to make players stressed for a bit, so congrats! And thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

It's pretty hard... just got to wave 8... :( But had a lot of fun :D

Developer(+1)

Wave 8 is almost the last one, you did very well! Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, really interesting idea. Well done!

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed! Do you have any suggestions to improve it?

Submitted(+1)

The idea of switching worlds is great. It's a fun game but a little too hard for me. Or maybe I just have to practice more! hahaha.

Submitted(+1)

Translation to Greek means this Greek(me) will give all 7 rates 5 stars! I do like the transition between the 2 worlds nice idea!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I'm brazilian, but I love Greece and the  Greeks! I'm very happy to have a Greek approval of the "Art Direction" ;-)

Submitted(+1)

Well the music is little off for ancient Greece they usually used harps, lyre and aulos but these details are for polished games!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I didn't had the time to find an CC0 good music. But the drums at the beginning are Greek (it seems...)

Submitted(+1)

Drums are great but the violin after had me chuckle :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, it becomes impossible too quick though :). I'm missing that fire scythe to keep them undead - dead. :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I was planning to add new powers linked to each god temple, so the player abilities increase at the same pace as the difficulty, but couldn't do it in time. Will certainly implement it in a next version :-D

Submitted(+1)

maybe undead (zombies) become skeletons, then die. Or undead, split into angry ghosts and skeletons that both try to demolish the buildings. ;)

Developer

Nice idea, I wanted a excuse to make different enemies anyway :-)

Submitted(+2)

Played and rated. The concept is interesting and the game is well put together!

The gameplay feels nice and the feedback is nice. I really loved the how to play menu, very well explained visually.

What I found hard was how zombies timer start counting down before we go to the underworld. I think it would be more fun that  their timer starts when all enemies are dead, as it is only at that time we go down.

Overall really enjoyed the game and the concept, good work :)

Developer

Thanks for playing and rating it! And thanks for the feedback; someone else told me to give more time to the souls, so the player could better manage it. I'll certainly do a improved version with all your feedbacks :-)

Submitted(+1)

Very neat idea and well executed

Developer

Thanks, I hope you entered the leaderboard :-)

Error: Couldn't load project data at path".". is the .pck file missing?

If you've renamed the executable, the associated .pck file should also be renamed to match the executable's name (without the extension).

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I forgot to zip the pck file with the exe. Just added it, you can play in windows now :-)

Great work, mechanics are very good, I liked it

I just found it a bit difficult to see the soul symbol, when there are a lot of corpses on the same spot.

Developer

Thanks, I wanted to create a system that spawns the souls in particular points, but I didn't had the time... I'll surely implement this for a new version after the jam. Glad you liked!

Submitted(+2)

S4ZZ1 being the unbeatable king of this game I'll be okay with rank #2.

Enjoyed every aspect of it. The visuals all blend well with one another, the gameplay that required solid eye-hand coordination & remembering which temple is where in the underworld is a fun and challenging game. Excellent entry!

Developer

Thank you very much! You know S4ZZ1, it won't let the first place go ;-) Glad you enjoyed!

Great job!  I love the ideas here.  Having to switch between the two different screens was a fun mechanic.

Some easy tweaks I think could improve enjoyment:  1.  Increase the time allowed to move the dead to temples.  2.  Allow switching between the two scenes using the keyboard (the up and down keys, or just space to toggle).

Developer

Thanks! Great idea for the keyboard, it's really elegant and would be a better input mechanic! And the first one is also great and easy to implement in Godot!

Yeeee! I love highscores in a game! I'd have loved to have a highscore ranking in our game, but time didn't allow for us to get to it. Unfortunately.

Needless to say I had to keep trying until I had the highscore :D

Very enjoyable. I started to feel a bit like an idiot for not being able to remember the location of the symbols in the underworld. Literally every time I picked up a new one I had to look where to put it instead of being able to memorize it.. But that's me being dumb, nothing on you.

The shaking when stuff was being hit in overworld was a bit much for me, could've been toned down a bit. Have you managed to reach the last wave? It gets really hard when you have zombies that are spawning out of sync of one another. (If you can manage to keep them in sync then you can go on for quite a bit - but with humans spawning as well, by the boatload at later stages, this becomes very tricky!

Nice one, thank you for your submission. I very much enjoyed it.

Developer(+1)

I love highscores too! Nicely done by the way, 7900 is a very nice score! The game is difficult, but I was planning to do with infinite waves, so no one was suppose to get to the end. I like the felling of being overwhelmed by zombies (that's what zombies are all about right? ;-)). And I will certainly adjust the shake, other people told me so too.

Thanks for the precise comment, I'm really happy you enjoyed!

Submitted

oh i just got the first place with 12300 point :D

Submitted(+1)

wow my favorite game so far.  Interesting idea, good art, good sounds. even you can add more things and publish it on platforms

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I think I also have to make it a little bit easier, a lot of people are saying it is too hard. It's funny that we both had the idea of playing God :-)

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

yeah i was laughing while playing :) I think i suggest too to make a little bit easier but infinite level

Submitted(+1)

This is such a great concept for the gameplay! Having to switch between the two layers is a really good idea. I do think it got to be way too difficult though where I ended up dealing with a horde of zombies. I'm sure the difficulty would be alleviated if I played longer and memorized where the different religions were in the underworld layer. But I think maybe some additional mechanics could help with the difficulty as well like maybe a new move for Thanatos that could reap multiple enemies at once. Or a power up that could auto-sort a specific religion. Great work though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the nice comment! It's true the difficulty rises fast, but I planned to unblock ZEUS, POSEIDON and HADES powers through the waves, so you could deal faster with the enemies, but I didn't got the time. I'll sure improve the game with your ideas! Do you think it would work on mobile?

Submitted(+1)

Actually, now that you mention it...I think it might be a great fit for mobile devices! The tapping of the warriors and moving the souls to the appropriate temples would be a lot easier via touch screen than with a mouse.

Submitted(+1)

I like your spin on the theme. I had a of trouble recognising the symbols on the souls to drop them in the correct place, even on full screen mode they where too small. I agree with other comments, maybe not so many warriors in the beginning.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll also change the resolution after the jam, so the icons are easier to understand!

Submitted(+1)

Ive officially broken my mouse! haha Great idea and concept, really enjoyed this and kept trying to better my score. Whoever "Dad" is deserves a medal!

One criticism, the screen shake was a bit violent for me and my old eyes.

Developer

Thanks for playing! When there are many enemies the shake doesn't stop, so it can be dauting. I'll try to make it nicier for the next version :-)

Submitted(+1)

Very nice game, but it has quite de difficulty spike. Maybe limit the amount of enemies based on your current score.

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting, I shall make easier for sure. And I didn't thought about the connection between enemies and score, thanks for the idea!

Submitted(+1)

Nice idea mate! Although really hard from the beginning! Almost didn't have time to learn it :P Maybe an easier first wave and more time between waves initially would make it more attractive for beginners! Congrats!

Developer

Thanks! It's true I didn't had too much time for testing it and I was pretty good in my own game ;-) I'll certainly make it easier after the jam ends.

Submitted(+1)

It was an intelligent idea. hella hard though.

Developer(+1)

It's true its a hardcore game, it was made to last 5 min a run... I hope you could save some souls anyway :-D Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I saved around 6 souls

Submitted

Really cool and clever idea!
