Congrats on this one. It's a full end-to-end experience and just the right length for a gamejam. And who doesn't like beating up slimes :)
Really impressed with the amount of systems you got into the game. My side-project still doesn't have a quest system despite me working on it for months. It's funny how much of an accelerant game jams are for productivity.
You even got voice-overs in, nice one - I wanted to get some into mine. Also I liked how the slimes ran away once you'd got those upgrades. Well done.
Thanks. Glad you had fun. I had a blast creating it.
The quest system, I madae some edits from one of Jason Weimann courses that I have that made my life a bit easier. But also worked on me learning more with making edits to it overall.
Great game, lots of mechanics.
Nice job!
Thanks for making the time to play and comment! I hope you had fun.
This game is great - feels very feature-complete. The combat is smooth, the animations and art are excellent and the voice acting was a welcome addition. The fact that it has an inventory system was cool.
Juicy!
Thanks porkrind! I had a lot of fun making it. And am working on building the systems for a full game now. 3D Environments! Juicy!
This is one of the few more “complete” games I encountered in this Jam! Keep creating!
Thanks! I had a blast with making it.
nice voice acting
Thanks. I'll pass that on to Christie. I did the slimes.
I loved your game. Keep going with this. It definitely has legs. Mighty work.
Thanks. I'm bringing the environment into 3D but leaving the characters and creatures as sprites. Already starting to build it up and having tones of fun. :D Thanks for playing and glad to hear you loved it!
The slime lord seemed to be healing somewhat after having been defeated which didn't really make sense...
I would be nice if there were more uses for the potions once the quest conditions have been fulfilled...
Character upgrades were really a nice feature, and this could totally deserve some expansion (so when the slime lord is defeated the gate to the village opens since the current danger has been eliminated)...
Thanks for letting me know about the boss health after death. I guess since his health bar doesn't disappear (ran out of time to even add taht toggle). I had built in that the Slime Lord will regen his health slowly if you walk away from him (after a 15 second pause) or if you try to heal up at the job board.
Bigger picture, I'd use the extract for crafting at the very least. But yeah, I'm working on the full version of the game now. I got pumped form the positive feedback and response. Here's a little screenshot as I'm shifting the code over to have sprites for anything that animates (characters, monsters, FX, and 3D models for everything else.
Really cool, looks like a lot of work! I loved the caracter graphic and animation!
Thanks! I hope you had fun with it.
Fun game! Keep building this one up! :D
Thanks! I'm glad you had fun. I already am working on a fuller game with some extra ideas and changes I want to make, ontop of the feedback I received from the jam :D. I'm doing some testing with 3D environments.
The boss battle was really fun! The different attacks the boss has are really cool. This game has a lot of potential!
HUGE thanks on that. I'm glad it was fun. I had the ideas for all the pieces as I was driving to work and sketched them all out to brainstorm possibly other ideas as well. But I am glad I had time to impliment all those abilities and with little breaking.
great game! I like the art and the music, the controls are responsive and the gameplay is fun and challenging. It occurred to me that some slimes are not to be taken, overall enjoyed playing, keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Respect that you make this in 10 Days. Good job:)
Thanks! I hope you had fun playing it.
Playing this reminded me a lot of playing classic flash games years ago!
Charming, and fun! Would play again!
Thank you very much for the wonderful words :D.
nice work , sound Fx were funny and art was cool , you did get a lot done in 10days
those red slime are mean ! the boss battle was a little to easy though but fun !
Thanks Dee! It was a blast, and I got lucky for a lot of it to get it all done. I wanted the boss tougher but also wanted people to try and beat him without too much struggle no matter the gaming skill level. Normally I'd have it much tougher. Original numbers was at least triple the HP, double the damage, half the healing items, etc. And full heal if you fully healed up at the job board again (even though it's glitchy) instead of the 1/5th I think it does now. Incase anyone tried to train the boss close to the job board to heal easy
well i played your game like I play most of my RPG's ,(except soul's were it really does not matter ) I get over powered and stomp the boss, if you say get 3 items i get 10 , then bring it back lol not sure how it happened though but by the time i got to the boss I was killing the slimes with 1 hit and my heal bar stretched the entire top of the screen, also the UI was very clean and font choice was really good.
AHAHAH! Yeah, I had at the end of the Quests 2-4 that you get doubled health from one, doubled stam regen AND double crit damage from another, and double regular damage from the third. I wanted to add a "hard mode" where the boss showed up after killing 50 slimes or something like that instead of JUST after completing all the quests. Didn't have time for that
Nice - Love RPGs and Games which are made in a short time which takle that :D nice work!
Aw :D. Thank you very much. There was SOOO much I wanted to have in there but no time to do it. Definitely a fun learning experience and I'm so happy many enjoyed it.
So impressive how much you managed to pack in to this game in 10 days. But I am stuck. I can't seem to clear the first quest. I kill the slime and take the meat back to the board and eat it but the job doesn't clear
Slime Essence. So it would be a little jar of blue. And that's my fault for not getting that communicated better on the item. I was having issues with the code that would spring up the item name as you picked it up.
Suprised what you can do with slimes! I liked the personality in each of the quests and your game cover art is insanely good!
Thanks Lewis!
Really great game! I spent a lot of time playing this game :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Raistael is now over the 4 hour mark of playing this...lol. He's already asking about if the new game version has the slimes in and if he can play it yet :P
Fabulous work! Can't find anything to improve! Loved the art, the music and the gameplay!!
Congratulations!!
Thanks Munsa. I'm happy you enjoyed it!
