No, we could not vote on our own game. The message it shows is a bit misleading though: it tells us that we wouldn’t have submitted a game. While technically correct, the co-admins have co-submitted, haven’t they…

But anyhow: this was a great experience after all. A big thanks to the guys at itch.io and GameDev.tv to create the platform for such events and organizing it!

Nice pacman variety.

This is one of the few more “complete” games I encountered in this Jam! Keep creating!

Nice evolution on the course theme! My own attempt at this never got over the prototyping phase. You added a good level design and some obstacle ideas. I think this is what they guys at GDTB try to teach us: just make it your own! Plus you created a complete game and published it. Keep creating!

Nice platformer. The “start wave” button allows to clean up before the next wave, cool idea. You should fix those issues the other commenters mentioned, then this will be even more fun to play.

I’ve done that class too. It gives you some good idea about how to use “building blocks” to create your own designs. The more you learn, the more blocks are in your toolbox. And one lesson you learned here in the Jam: you are able to complete a game, build it and ship it to the world. Just keep creating things!

This is a fun game to play! I loved the sound design. The sneaky walk made me smile. Had to watch the ghosts at some places but finally made it to the end.

Very fun game with a nice twist! The second part felt much more relaxing :)

I liked the way you explain the mechanics! Maybe the double jump could be a bit more forgiving. And I had to restart the game each time I dropped down. You could add a trigger below the main stage that just restarts the level.

“Timbeeer!”…. ouch… Nice idea to catch the theme! Entries like this show that GDTV is doing a great job motivating people to create games. Keep learning and you’ll be surprised how many ideas you can turn into playable games!

Great idea, good implementation! It felt a little too hard for me, but that might just be my slow reflexes. The switching mechanics for sure is a nice twist.

I love the game mechanics! Unfortunately I am too slow for this kind of game. Maybe you could add some snail mode… please ;)

Hmm… I had no idea that mushrooms are such insatiable beings… The music is really hard to get out of my ear now ;) Continue working on the game, I think there is a lot of potential.

It seems this is just an empty project. There is nothing to start and the github only shows 2 commits: a .gitignore and an empty sample scene. Nothing reminds of the picture you show on the game page. So if there is some playable game somewhere you might have to re-upload it.

I liked the game mechanics, but on a German keyboard it is hard to use those keys (z and y are swapped), so there should be some way to remap them. Besides that, nice game!

Great mechanics! Only complaint I have is that my brain needed some time to get used to that non-rotating world outside the game after I played for a while! ;) Looking forward to see the final version with some more levels.

I loved the dark, yet calm atmosphere! This definitely not a racing boat, but feels good in this scene. Maybe you could block the boat from doing land surfing by adding some colliders or surface recognition. Keep working on it!

Hi Nick, I am glad you like our game. I tried to develop it with mobile as a possible target. Most parts even work in portrait & landscape. Just the puzzle in level3 is hard to do in portrait.

This is one of the best games I played on this Jam!

The challenge makes it really hard to stop.

I saw the bird up in the sky ;)

Wow! This one’s a keeper, for sure! Fluid game play. And D.E.A.T.H is only the beginning, indeed! Found a little “feature”: the ball gets stuck at the upper left flipper, but giving a little “S” helps. Maybe there is a way to increase the ball’s visibility behind those upper flippers? e.g. decrease the height of the visible flipper while keeping the collider size?

Great game! I’m going to have a good look at the source as well, as I always wanted to fiddle with some pinball game.

Nice art style and the music & effects fit well! I’d only reduce the cutscene on respawn to something like “dangit, here it goes again…” instead of repeating the whole beginning

Yep, I had the old version. it worked for me with the 1.07. Now I was able to play the whole mission! The egg mechanics actually saves a lot of travelling ;)

The game looks great and the music sounds good. Unfortunately it keeps crashing after a few minutes, so I wasn’t able to do more than just collect some sticks, stones & fiber. I felt the camera movement on collecting the fiber nausea inducing. Looking forward to see some “final version” of this game!

Spooky atmosphere, the black creepy guys add to that as well. Seems I was not the only one climbing trees here, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to jump over the fence from there ;) Great potential to be turned into some longer game. Keep creating!

Nice basic 3D platformer, shows some potential to build upon! Maybe tackling some animations and adding some more levels will make this even more fun to play. Keep creating!

This is a fun little game! The platformer experience just feels right. Thank you for pointing out the game kit you used. I guess this will be the base for my future attempt to create something like “Jill of the Jungle”. And I loved the the little tongue in cheek moment at the end!

Oh, by the way: you should delete the Library and Build folders from the project before creating the source zip. Those are recreated on the fly and it will save a ton of space.

Hmm… why does the UI seem to show the wrong values? Errmm, wait a minute… duh! I am supposed to control the “bad guy” here!

This is a great twist for the game mechanics and I loved the humor you put in.

Thank you for giving me a lot of fun to play your game.

The sword is automagically used at the end of the level 1 cutscene. If you look closely you can the the animation as it slides from the UI right into the pedestal… In fact this is just an optical illusion as I turned it off in the UI and enabled the one in the stone ;)

Nara just wanted to see if the princess’ hair spray contains enough flame protection to withstand the hard trials of level 2. So she made sure it gets properly tested.

And as the theme went: death is only the beginning (of this level)

That alien fauna really looks pretty! After I got the “hint” with the lamps at each plate I understood the sequence and was able to open the door. The jumping sequence on lvl2 made me see the free falling animation several times ;) As for the technical “issues”: I also encountered some blurriness and a few flickers (Nvidia 1070). Also after one “teleport home” the scene turned into night mode, not sure if that was intentional. Gonna finish this game after I recover from the jam review marathon…

Great idea! I like the invincibility. I had some issues with the switch in camera position when starting to aim and my mouse for sure won’t like the rapid fire action on the long run ;) Well done!

Yay! That worked. Now I can start spreading some stars! :)

Maybe you could include that info somewhere in the starter info for the next jam, as I guess there will be more itch.io newbies like me doing their first jam this way.

It is a fun game to play. At some places you have to be really careful not to push the block too far, as pushing it just a little into another lane can block that.

I’d call that a feature ;)

I also downloaded the source and had a look at it. Looks great for a first time project for sure!

Keep on creating!

I really like how the game feels. I think it is a good example how you can use an existing framework (like the controller) and add your own mechanics. You should add some more levels to this after the jam!

Unfortunately I am not able to rate your game, as only submitters are allowed to do so, but if I could I would surely give ***** for the fun and level design.

Hmm… I am really tempted to grab that source and add some levels…. ;)

I believe that we lose a lot of feedback by only allowing the submitters to vote for the submitted games. It would be great to add some way to include each team members itch.io account on the submission, thus allowing things like the distribution of the free course or e.g. showing the game on each members itch page. And of course to be able to vote…

But besides that it was a great experience!
