Interesting mechanics with the ghost. Love the art style!

Submitted

Great idea, good implementation! It felt a little too hard for me, but that might just be my slow reflexes. The switching mechanics for sure is a nice twist.

Really nice looking game. Well done and congrats on submitting!

The core loop here is really solid. The idea that you want to be constantly switching bodies is, neat too. Unfortunately, I found this iteration to be really frustrating. The combat is fine unless you're fighting 2 or more enemies and then it quickly ramps up in difficulty. Forcing a level restart after getting spammed by two knights feels even worse.

Great idea and pretty fun, I would focus on more playtesting and player experience on future jams. Keep making cool games!

Its an amazing work for only 10 days. Really cool, great work.

I can not believe how polished this game is. The art style is very cute and pleasing. The controls are nice and tight the movement feels so good. The mechanic is a nice twist. I like that fact that you can reanimate other corpses. This is all around just a very good game. I really like it. Awesome Job! Great Game!

I like the fact that you possess and dead body, and the graphics are great. The battling was a bit hard.

I am so impressed with your intro, that was Zelda level intro :)

Very well done :)

Developer

Thank u so much!  Zelda really inspires me!

There a pink triangle of broken material right at the very bottom of the screen at the point of the first puzzle, where the wall slides up. Might not show on every system, perhaps... I've got a 16:10 display, not 16:9...

(Firefox on Linux).

Unfortunately there's only a Windows download version...

Developer

Hello, thank you for the feedback; we are unable to reproduce the problem, can you send us a screenshot of the problem? Thank you

I went into ghost mode to scroll down a bit more so you can see it better...

thanks...we'll investigate the issue

Very nice way to enter in the theme! I loved when I understood I could posses other bodies. Had a little difficulty with the controls and collisions at the beginning, but after I understood them well it was very nice to plya through. Great entry!

Great idea, great game design, great art work, really great work

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Really like the mechanics and style of the game, animations are great >.<

Wish you could possess a body after you die maybe with a much shorter time limit.

Great game over all!

A very beautiful game.

Developer

Thanks!

Love the art. Some Hollow Knight influence here? The intro cutscene was very nice, and also a nice parallax effect with the foreground and background, though the foreground pillars get a little in the way at times. The button prompts are also a nice touch. The platforming is a bit heavy and gets stuck on the sides of some platforms. The camera needs some tweaking too - it was hard to see what was in front of you (and below you when traversing those first few jumps). And getting ganked by multiple enemies which take multiple hits so close to the start felt a little too punishing. A very impressive game though. Well done! Good luck on the future development.

Developer

Hollow Knight is one of my favourite games , so yeah, big influence. I noticed the platforms bug after the submission and I found the problem in the PlayerController script, will be corrected in future versions. I also agree with the earlier difficulty and balance will be something to work on. Thank you for your feedback!

I really enjoyed this mechanic, it's fun to hop from one meat suit to another! haha

Had a good with with the game, i think the early enemies were a bit tough for that type of attack.

It definitely could use a check point system. Real solid game, the intro animated text was great.

Developer

Hi, thanks for your feedback we know the combat needs some tweaks and we agree a checkpoint system is needed. Funny thing: we implemented it during the week but we didn't included them in the levels we built for the submission :D

Submitted(+1)

Fun to play at first, but without a checkpoint system it quickly became tiring to start from the beginning every time I failed.

I like the possession ability and that you can use other enemies bodies to move around. Nice art on the introduction and the character sprites too!

Good job!

Loved your art style, game looks amazing! Controls were a little stiff, but otherwise a good solid entry!!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback!!

Good game! I think the enemies near the start don't need as much health to get the flow more. Congrats!

I love the mechanics! I feel you can build upon this quite a bit if you chose to. The art is great as well. Good job!

Fun

It was alright. I think having to multi hit enemies was frustrating, especially when the attack mechanic was so rough. Otherwise it seems like a barebones platformer with a possesion twist.

Aesthetics

Decent. Reminds me of pre-2010 flash games.  All art seems to fit a theme. The opening cinematic is a nice touch. Quite a few typos but they didn't impact the game too much. The GUI elements don't look great, but you have gui which is an improvement over a lot of other submissions.

Music

Good. Music is more prevalent during the starting cutscene.  Could see this in a finished product.

Sound

Decent.  Sound matches the game but they feel cheap. It is a game jam, so I can't complain.

Mechanics

Running and jumping feels clunky. Combat feels very bad.  I dislike how getting hit and hitting an enemy feel almost identical, and hitting an enemy feels like I'm the one getting hit.

The possession mechanic works well. I like it, and it makes for some interesting situations.

Story

I like the opening cinematic. Although it is a bit weird that you leave the original knight and possess other bodies.

Theme

Possession mechanic is present throughout the game and fits well with death is only the beginning.

The game art all follows a single style and works with the music.  Good work.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, we played your game and  we should definitely learn from your player controller!

Nice game, I love the mechanic of switching forms to do puzzles.
