The sound and music was fantastic for the feeling. I really enjoyed the little touches. I didn't make it past the forth? level

The grunt/growl was the only one that kind of broke the immersion. It could just be the mixing on it.

Awesome, i got through 2 levels recently, but i'll wait for v2 to do more ;)

Are you planning to update your ITCH page with the newest version as well?

I actually thought the inventory screen was hooked up the same as the pause screen and stopped time.

Turns out it wasn't in the version i published aha.

I love tower defense games, this had some good bones to it!

Definitely some particle effects to spice it up, and some flavor/detail text about the towers,
A pop up on new enemy types etc.

You did a great job making me feel like I was invested in the game, some extra information during gameplay would have been great.

Thats actually a feature I've added to the newest version today, nice arrow pointing to your last visited fire.

But also! I realized red crystals give potions instead of red crystals.

Red crystals and logs create fires  -_-

I thought I had left a comment already because it was one of the first games I played.

Really enjoyed it but didn't get too far, the art really grabbed my attention, really beautiful.

The match animation was a great concept, but it was a bit clunky feeling in practice.

And with all the feeling the game produces, iId love to see more sound effects, it would just bring the mood up even farther.

Looking forward to spending time to practice a bit and get through more of it!

I really enjoy these type of puzzle games, but i did spend a lot time trying to figure out how the controls worked.

A pop up when a new behavior exists would be really helpful, I got stuck on rotating the satellite on level 4ish?

Be excellent job otherwise.

Yeah, we really needed a quick action bar to be able to drop the cross or heal. Also invincibility frames/knockback.
It was a fun product to work on, sadly just couldn't make enough time, but had a ton of fun making the simple dialogue/crafting/inventory system.

BTW, Did you use Godot?

AI has been an ongoing battle for me aha. Thank goodness for CodeMonkey and his state machines.

Very well done game, difficulty ramped up, movement and firing felt great.

Very quality little game as I'd expect from you.

Mildly shocked it wasn't a platformer ;)

Absolutely love this. Got super invested into the story, and I'm a sucker for village builders.

A few times a bug happened where villagers wouldn't move and got unselectable for a while, but eventually i could do a large area select and at least put them in a building, but otherwise very well done.

Plan to come back and finally beat it once I'm less 'computer' burnt out.

Really enjoyed this! Played it to the end.

Music was perfect. Neat puzzles. Really loved your take.

The talking too much character was a love letter to my son Kai.
Who is a teenager and loves to share random facts with lots of tangent....

I really should have made a sign in the beginning showing "exit" pointing up aha.

It wasnt very clear in the dialogue.

Thank you for sharing this.

This absolutely made me feel things. I'm sorry for your loss.

I would have liked to have been given a bit more information on the controls/energy system before we got it, but it was really told a story. Thank you again for sharing this.

That's the beauty of game jams eh? Learn things you didn't know ARE things.

I'm not sure if its in there, but adding"coyote time" and jump buffering would make these game feel even better :)

Loved the visual, the music was a tad loud, but it set the mood well.

Great job on this, had a lot of fun.

Great job on this, had alot of fun.

Thanks for the feedback, looks like I fell pretty hard into the "you are better at your game then anyone else" .

Definitely something to keep in mind next time!

Thank you very much.

Perfect. I'll add a death collider around it.

What area did you slip out of?  the caves?  or did you go to the stop and get over the wall.
Thanks for reporting the bug!

Comparing it to some of the other brilliant platformer controller setups people have posted, definitely feeling the slipperiness, too floaty.

Really appreciate the feedback :)

(1 edit)

I think you might be the first non developer to make it to the end aha.

Definitely needed like an exit sign pointing up or something at the beginning, and maybe a little more explanation on the wall jumps.

But we had WAY too much fun writing the dialogue.

Plan to fill it out to a more complete RPG type platformer, going between levels to get stuff/learn things, add some animated/scrolling text.

All those little tweaks that fall to the wayside in a less then 10 day timeframe.

Thank you for the very kind review(and for making it to the end!)

You can you the left shift (dash) to get past the plants in the front.
At the bottom of the cave you'll need to jump, jump dash to get past.

The movement we tried for a bit more 'floaty' but its looking like a flop aha.

Hoping to build something more complete out of the game, as we had alot of fun writing it.

If i had more time i'd have added combat as well

Thank you for the kind review!

That is fantastic feedback! It was my sons first attempt at pixel art, so it definitely progressed throughout the jam a bit aha.

We were going for a floaty feel for the "angel" idea, but it ended up not working out nicely. Definitely excited to rebuild it with a different MC and better controls.

Much appreciate the time it took to write this!

Cheer and happy gamejaming

We felt the same way about ours!  Didn't have time to add combat, or text animations or get the title screen looking good.  Got me about from being such a perfectionist though you know?

Ship felt just a big sluggish but I absolutely loved it. Great job flipping all those assets and really making them your own!

That was such a sweet game, I was sad it was so short!  Felt very invested.

Great job on this. The music was perfect for the mood. I had a hard time knowing if I was hitting things or getting hit, heath bar would have been great.

Darn game jams and their limited time, am I right?

Great job, love to see space shooters

Tried to play it but it wouldn't load, just stayed with an open bar. Videos looked great though

The art and music were awesome, the boss fight was cool, i loved all the death animations, really nice touch.

Really felt odd having a wizard that was sliding around so much, wasn't really fond of that part.

Otherwise awesome, I was a bit disappointed there wasn't more levels!

Damage to the car was quite cool! I couldn't make it very far, anything remotely like a racing game is beyond me aha.

Very cool mechanics! A few rough areas that other people have mentioned below.

Great job with this!

Had a good with with the game, i think the early enemies were a bit tough for that type of attack.

It definitely could use a check point system. Real solid game, the intro animated text was great.

Thank you for the kind words!

I'm definitely planning to flesh it out a bit! We loved writing it too much.

Most of the same comments as below! Also an ending/restart screen would have been lovely.
Good job

Interesting concept! Music was great.  It was fun short game!

Great game! Would have loved some sort of ending screen, an "end" to the story.

Visually and mechanically it was a pleasure!  I could see a larger game made out of this.
I could see you purposely switching between alive and ghost through a user input and a "heart meter"  type resource.
Feels like an already solid game just begging to be expanded :D

 A+
