Made it to 11821 points, using the start someone described of going to the top of the map and shooting downwards, since aiming in any other direction is impossible when stationary. I can't judge the lack of a death screen since I don't have one either.

You submitted the game an hour after the theme was released?
The firing is difficult to control and it was easy to get trapped in a corner by the fat angels. There's no lose/game over screen, you just disappear and the angels keep firing at your corpse.
Movement felt smooth though

Developer

It was a blank project at that point. I was just figuring out how itch worked.

Pretty awesome, right? Not bad for a first time game and first time jam.

I question this games existence!

2030 points! Where's my fruitcake

Fruitcake is a lie.

Actually the plan was to have an initial scene with Satan and Death where Satan asks Death to aid him in collecting souls. Death says he can’t play sides. Satan says he’ll sweeten the deal with a fruitcake, and Death says he’s in.

Sadly I ran out of time to add this. :(

Most of the same comments as below! Also an ending/restart screen would have been lovely.
Good job

Like NaNixDev I think that if your character stayed looking the direction they previously moved, the game would be much better. I found myself staying at the top shooting everything below me and getting over 10,000 points haha.

It's a great start, would be interested to see more from this game. Keep it up!

Developer

Yeah, this was my first try at anything and I think I spent a few hours just getting the character animations to switch to the direction they were facing. Making it stay in the last position is a good idea!

nice idea,  but shooting mechanics is little challenging it think

Good Game! Idea is good ! keep it up

Cool idea, It kinda reminds me of a simplified Vampire Survivor. I think that if death would have stayed facing the direction he was walking instead of always turning downward, it would have been a bit more fun. Good job though!
