This is weirdly one of my favorites of the jam. This feels like an inventive mix (intentional or otherwise) between an adventure game and a platformer, even though you're not really platforming. I love the idea of reading/learning while avoiding, and finding the items past obstacles. So cool. I also like the art and sound, and the writing is amusing. Great job.

Developer

Wow thank you so much! Yeah I'm hesitant to label it as a platformer too. I was toying with some other ideas, like a temporary intangible stated to pass through the demons instead of jumping, but didn't have time to flesh anything out and jumping was just easier to implement in order to have some kind of challenge aspect to it.

It was fun and I like the music and the story.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!

Fun idea. Nice feel with the side scrolling and jumping. Some nice art and music too. The keyboard control mappings were a bit tricky as I see other people have commented too. Good work!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, a bit of an oversight on my part with the controls. But in all fairness, there's no reason you can't just use your other hand for the F key ;P

But you are right, definitely something to consider going forward.

simple but really cute game! I liked it

Thanks!

This was a very nice experience. I like the music theme and fame theme behind this. I found it was easy to grasp and fun to run around and explore. I think I would have liked to have seen some of the items found in other building and not all in the same building but rock on. This is a great entry for this jam. Party On, Dudes! *** while playing the air guitar's *** "Be excellent to each other!"

Developer

Thank you! Hmm interesting idea! The premise here was that each building is a self-contained "puzzle" so you can fail one and then move on to the next without issue. But that could be an interesting idea for additional levels/city areas! Most Triumphant! All we are is dust in the wind, dude!

Well done! Nice concept and execution :).
First go around I forgot about jump and wondered how to get past the demons, but second go around I managed to complete it :).
Well done for bringing a lot of elements together. Hope you all had fun making it! :)

Developer

Thank you! Haha Rick played on stream and he also forgot about the jump.. it happens XD

Glad you enjoyed! It was my first game jam and it was a blast!

Fun little game and story. I particularly liked the design of the demons. As somebody else mentioned, maybe F key was a bad choice for the action key. Perhaps W or E or Left Mouse might have been better. But still very good overall.

Developer

Thanks for playing!  And thank you for the helpful feedback! I will keep that in mind for the future.

I liked it:! How famous i got? It was all green and I got 200 points.

Loved the concept, I picture myself in the kitchen and the radio turns on with this dudes song :D

Developer

Nice work! Thank you! The "full game idea" includes, among other things, living people reacting to what's going on. I'm glad you got into it!

I think this game very cool! :)

Developer

thank you!

Having "move right" and "action" right next to each other made it quite confusing for me to handle...

Neat idea!

Developer

Yeah that is a very good point, thank you!

Nice old school graphics and great music! I liked to play an adventure and explore the world (and avoiding enemies was a great way to make the navigation fun!). Congrats for this entry!

Thank you!

Awesome game! the graphics are neat and the music is great! The story is really appropriate with the theme and the gameplay is fun, looking for items and avoiding being hit by the demons is challenging , the controls are responsive and movements are smooth. Overall I enjoyed playing this one, congratulations! keep it up!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! This was my first jam and first time really finishing a project so I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

The music was a hoot, anyone with love for rock, is a friend of mine. Had fun playing this.

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you!   \m/

Really enjoyed the aesthetic used. I must admit it is not my preferred style of game but I love how easy it was to work out how to play. Was really well thought out

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you found some enjoyment even if it was something you don't typically play. Game Jams seem really great for that

Submitted

Yeah i thought it was pretty neat. It's one of the few games in the game jam that i played right the way to the end so good job :)
