I wish it was more explorative and less time-focused! Nice game though. Very solid gameplay

Developer(+1)

We were, at one point, thinking about doing an "Exploration Mode" where you'd be able to go about the level at your own pace, without time limit... but a lot of concessions had to be made to meet the deadline, unfortunately. It's definitely something we are considering if we spruce up the game a bit more after the jam is all wrapped! Thank you for checking out the game!

a very nice game, simple, but pretty fun! it's not broken by it's randomness, which is rare. The pit placement just seems fair every time!

Developer(+1)

A lot of work went into the environment, both for the art and the layout! Thanks for the recognition!

3:46! Lol, 14 seconds to spare. Are the rock piles randomly placed? Because I lost the first time, completely my own fault, but the second time I felt like there was one in a room that wasn't there before.

Sound was great. Controls were pretty good, I think having jumping stop so suddenly after releasing the button just took some getting used to. You clearly put a good bit of time and energy into designing your level layout. Really liked figuring out how to reach areas. And! I love math lol

Was a fun game! I bet you learned a good bit while making it. Thanks for taking part in Godot Wild Jam!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! :-)

Yes, the rock piles are randomly placed. There's (I think) 17 spawn areas defined on the map, and each run it'll pick a subset of them to spawn treasures in, and also place them in a random position within that spawn area. We had hoped to encourage folks to really learn the map, so they'd know how to quickly get from place to place.

Submitted

As I suspected! That's pretty sharp, nicely done!

Never thought I'd see myself having fun playing math but I adored this game. It was fast paced, required some quick mental math with simple to understand mechanics so that anyone can play. Very accessible. Can easily see this game becoming so much far. The music and sfx were also pretty good

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Hehe, yeah, the math problems started out in the first prototype as a "TODO put real puzzle here" but we ended up (unexpectedly) liking it, so we made a better UI and kept it. :-)

I love this style!

The game is intense; the counter makes you nervous!

I found everything and it was cool.

Developer

Thanks! :-)

Nice concept! good job!

Love that ps1 oasis music, but I gotta say that FOV gives me lingering nausea :(

Developer

Oof! As someone who is prone to motion sickness, I certainly don't want to make other people nauseous! We should have put an FOV slider, sorry about that :-/

In any case, thanks for giving it a try!

Finished in 3:09!

Okay, now this one reminded me of a game I played ages ago. I think someone sold me a game at school which was a bit like Mario Party, but where the minigames were maths challenges. I think the board was an island and the premise was that you had to escape it before a volcano erupted.

...I know, pretty much irrelevant, but the point is that it reminded me of a game I haven't thought about in ages and for that reason I give it 5/5.

Developer

That's a solid time! We'll take a 5/5 for any reason whatsoever ;-) Thanks for playing!

Seen your video on youtube! Both the games and videos are awesome! Can't wait to see more in the future!

Developer

Thanks! I've got a final devlog and postmortem video coming out tomorrow - stay tuned! :-)

Wow.. perfectly weighted difficulty for a player of my skill!

I was getting quite tense towards the end!

Mixing FPS and maths, very novel. Overall it's a charming little playthrough, well done team. :)

Developer

Whew, that was a close one! :-) Thanks!

Nice work! I thought the level was pretty well designed. The running animation looked a little jerky, which was only an issue because you spent so much time looking at it. The quick head-math aspect was a nice twist.

Developer

Thanks!

I mentioned this elsewhere but I'm not good at platformers and I spent most of my time trying to get on that ledge across from the plane! Good Job guys!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! :-)

For some reason it won't run for me 😔 It crashes with the message "WebGL context lost, please reload", then on reload says "WebGL not available". Not sure if it has anything to do with running on a Mac and Chrome. I tried a different browser, and the game loaded, but it was just a black screen, the crosshair, and the text 😕

Developer(+1)

Sorry to hear that. For the moment, you should definitely give one of the downloadable versions a try!

Very nice! I usually don't like timed games, but this one was really well balanced.

Developer

Glad you think so! Thanks for playing. :)

Submitted(+2)

very (!) well done! i'd seen the devlog and i was excited to try this one, and the result is really good! the atmosphere is lovely! the only minor downside to me is the way you have to input the answers, but it's really not much of an issue. congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, if we had more time, it would have been nice to have a way to enter the answers with the keyboard (not just typing the numbers, though, a buried treasure with a digital interface wouldn't fit with the "lore" ;-)) and controller for accessibility

Submitted(+2)

Nice game! Took me a little to figure out the timing for the jumps. Good choice for the title lol

Developer

Thanks :-)

Nice little treasure hunt game. I really liked the level design, the environment is quite readable ! I just let my instincts guide me and I found all the treasures, but at the same it was not too easy. Hats off. Just one small thing : I did not really like the math puzzles, but that's probably because I suck at mental math.

Oh and by the way I managed to unlock the last crate at the last second and this happened

Developer

Thanks! Heh, you managed to win and lose the game at the same time! There should be a special achievement for that :-)

Got it in 3:17! Really awesome entry. Loved the open environment, and the quick addition puzzles. I liked the art and music a lot too. Very very well done, and ran fine in my browser. Love seeing 3D projects in Godot.

Developer

That's a solid time!!! Thanks for the kind words :-)

Hey I really like the atmosphere of your game cool jungle vibe with music playing.

I think it would be good if you mentioned the jump is a hold longer to jump higher as that is necessary to reach one of the treasures

I was kind of confused why there was maths questions involved in opening the chests - felt like that took away from the fun fast paced movement and platforming

The controls were fun to use in the space you created :)

Developer

Thanks!

That's a great idea! I updated the controls on the project page :-)
