The changing background gives a really great feeling of progression and even a little bit of storytelling. The player control feels pretty nice, but some features like jump buffering would help the game quite a bit I think. The level design is pretty good with some nice sense of difficulty scaling. I also really liked the art style, and having the robot's colour scheme be different after every death is pretty cool.

Finished in 4:39! It's a good length for a gamejam, and the catchy music kept me going. :) Perhaps having a variable height jump would be nice, imho.. Nice work on your first GWJ.

simple but effective! good job!

Fun little jumping game. The jumpy felt ever so slightly floaty but other than that loved the genre of music chosen and the overall art.

Very simple but works really well! Bopping tune (Y)

I had fun with this one! There are a couple really neat touches; the environmental storytelling of the broken robots all around you at the base of the cave, or the way the background gets subtly lighter as you ascend. Nice job!

Developer

Yes, thanks for noticing! I wanted to tell some kind of background story also by using Dialogic, but I couldn't make it in time.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Ugh I'm not good at platformers!!!!They frustrate me so much, good job!!!

I hope you enjoyed the game anyway even if it was frustrating at times. :)

Woo! 4:57! That was much more fun than I expected! I think that was largely due to the great audio and very comfortable controls. I really liked the Metroid-esque environment also. This was a really fun little entry! ^^

Hey really bumping soundtrack made the climb feel epic

I think it could be good to add a bigger trigger for the tutorial pod as I jumped over it my first few times

Also maybe add a bit of forgiveness on the jump so if you miss it a by a few frames you still jump

I do really like how you incoperated the changing your character as you die as different models of robots super cool idea

Developer

Glad you liked it.

Thanks for playing and for the review.
