I love how you incorporate voice into your submissions. This submission is great and feels so rich and lively! The improvised guitar part in Magic Over the Water is soo good
This whole thing reeks atmosphere and I love it
this is absolutely beautiful! You’ve clearly put a lot of thought and work into this, it all pays off so well! The story is great, the composition is incredible, and the mix is very good! Reminds me a lot of Austin Wintory
I do have one critique, in the climax in The Selfie Surfaces around 1:44 the mix sounds like its being overly compressed possibly by a limiter. Could also be YouTubes video player and is a bit of a nitpick. Anyways I think this is one of my favorites! You did a great job!
Thank you so much I’m glad you liked it!
I used a combo of a bunch of different choirs layered together, the choir in Albion Solstice by spitfire audio, the quartet in Balkan Ethnic Orchestra by strezov sampling, requiem pro by 8dio, and The Spellsinger by Hunter Rogerson on Pianobook. The Spellsinger is super unique and kind of hard to tame cause of the way it’s sampled but I love how it sounds
This is sick! I love your rhythms and grooves, they feel super natural and are made even greater by the harmonies and chord progressions. Each track flows really well and matches the vibe of the others while still feeling very sonically distinct. This is a really great entry and I don't know if I really have any feedback, this feels like very professional chiptune
My favorite track is Jellyfishes
Ughhh I love the harmonies throughout, the Joe Hisaishi influence is showing, also kind of reminds me of World of Demons by Platinum Games (which has a soundtrack way better than it has any right to be go listen to it)
Anyways this is beautiful probably the best composition I've heard so far this jam, I dig this style so much. Personally I would've liked to hear more about more of the story of the game specific to the individual tracks but I do feel like the music does a good job at painting it's own picture. Incredible work!
This is really sweet I love the composition style and vibes! If I had to critique anything I feel like the mix to my ears is a little mid-rangey and almost too warm. I also think this submission would benefit a lot from more stereo width and panning. This is definitely one of my favorite submissions so far, it's very beautiful!
Thank you! That bass tone was a LOT of fun to make, its my Sterling Ray34 purple sparkle (the color and sparkle finish is VERY important to the tone), then its just some compression (i used Aberrant DSP Shapeshifter which has a very unique tone and distortion to it) some corrective eq, OTT to boost the bass and highend, a Rift patch that's doing a stereo phase effect and some crunch, some more corrective eq, a clipper/limiter, and then I'm cutting 31hz (keeps the signal from getting too bassy) and boosting the lows (63-125hz) and highs (1k-8k) again with logic pro's stock graphic eq (probably my favorite character eq for bass and synths). It's kinda of overkill and there are probably more efficient ways to go about making this tone but whatever haha
I really dig this vibe, the sound design and production is really cool! The texture and ambience throughout is really interesting and I like it a lot!
This may be a bit nitpicky but sometimes the theme feels like it was thrown on. I think it's really cool that you sampled the direct motif but I think that as a result of it being sampled it sometimes sounds a bit disconnected
Anyways, I really like this, great work!
