How does your game fit the theme?
Created in 48 hours for the 2021 GMTK game jam with the theme of “Joined Together” and we immediately took to a protagonist that had to join them self together. Then we realized, why stop there? Why not have the character also be the solution! Hopefully the theme comes across as you play our little game. Currently only one level exists but we are working on more for future release!

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

A really nice game with an interesting concept to back it up! If I have one bone to pick (heh) it's I would have really liked if the bone bridge had a hitbox from the very start of it's animation - i fell through it numerous times because it looked walkable the second it appeared!

Lovely short game! It was very satisfying collecting all the bones and the sfx and music were really good. Shame it wasn't longer though.

Loved the art!!

will done!!

This was a gorgeous game with an awesome concept and fantastic execution. The entire aesthetic of the game was superb, I loved the black and white and the way the bones popped off the screen. It had such a polished feel to it, in that solitary level. I did get a bit confused by the bridge feature at first, I used the bridge more times than I needed to and ended the level without my full body, and I was disappointed for the sake of the skeleton who had many more cliffs to jump off of. Still, a super polished and memorable little experience, it would be great to see a continuation of the game post-jam! Good job.

We do plan on making a post-jam version with even more polish, more abilities, and most importantly more bones!

More bones!!! I can't wait, the game has been sold to me already!

Very Good love to see more levels.

Nice art and sounds. very interesting idea and well implemented. good job. And your game has very atmospheric black and white design.

Wow! The pixel art is gorgeous! The music is great too!

I think the opening cinematic moves a bit too quickly if the player isn't paying close attention, although this is a bit of a nit-pick. It also took me a bit to figure out what the jump button was on keyboard.

The idea is really cool and original, and definitely fits the theme. Obviously this game was a bit short, but it was well designed and I'm looking forward to what you do with this in the future!

This feels like it easily could have been a mid-2010s Flash title, and I mean that in a really good way. The mechanic's versatile and interesting, and the animation's fun enough to make it work. Just the way the little skull rolls around before picking up a leg and being able to jump is super neat, and it's something I wouldn't have thought of. Good stuff!

Interesting concept, great graphics, music, and sound effects.  I would love to see this idea expanded upon into possibly a full release. Well done.

Great Concept. This is something that can be turned into a full game, with more features and things to do and many more levels.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Fun game! It looks great, but P and O are odd keys for actions though and I glitched through tiles above me a couple of times when the skeleton grew. I look forward to seeing how it progresses.

Developer

I'm curious how you were able to do this since we specifically designed around that growth. You're also the first person to report this issue, so it must mean you were being thorough in your playthrough which we really appreciate.

Nice aesthetic and sounds. I couldn’t find the jump key first, P is a really unusual place for that.

Submitted(+3)

Really fun game! I didn't find the button for jump (P) at first - it's usually Z, X, C or space. Liked the concept of picking up bones to strengthen your jumping ability and building bridges to reach places you couldn't before. The art is very good, too. Could be expanded into a full release.

Submitted(+3)

really solid idea. I like how the platform mechanics become more fluid when you collect more bones. "P" is an odd choice for jump though and the bridge animation did screw me over a couple of times but overall a very neat consept.

Developer(+1)

We're hoping to make the bridge more clear in future versions of the game. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+3)

Great game and nice idea! I think you did a nice job on the level design, since probably it could be really hard to balance the stock of bones and the amount needed for each challenge. Congrats!

Submitted(+3)

Really interesting idea, would definitely enjoy a metroidvania using this concept

Developer(+1)

With our post-jam version we hope to showcase what that could look like since this was meant to be a Metroidvania. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+3)

Great Mechanic!! The game was a little short, but overall good job

Submitted(+3)

Really nice proof of concept! I really liked the intro cutscene framing the gameplay and all of the art and music. I think it would be nice if there was a tutorial and such -- I had to read the comments to figure out 'P' was the jump key. 48 hours is a really short time though and the parts that got done felt really nice and polished, which is super good. Great job!

As a fellow Skele love I approve xD it took me a bit to figure out the controls,  I was so happy that they were listed on the game page.  I love that he slowly gets bigger with the more bones you get and it was interesting that he jumped higher the bigger he got! I thought it would be cool if when adding bones to the bridge his bones started being taken away,  might be a cool mechanic to think about if you continue development!

Developer(+1)

Actually, you do lose bones for building bridges, which was a key component of the Skeleton. Maybe you didn't encounter it while playing, but it's possible to revert back to an earlier form because you spend the bones that made up your legs for example. We have plans to implement other methods of spending your bones, as we wanna flesh out the idea of changing forms and managing bones. Appreciating the love from a fellow Skele <3

oh really!? I guess I collected too many too fast to see it xD; I was just excited because of how cute it was <3
