Hah, to find a text adventure in this jam, AND it being a pretty good and entertaining one at that. Gotta love the classic toilet bowl time machines lol! ♥

Really good game! I wasn't expecting to find a text adventure in the jam, but I had lots of fun playing through. The story was really good, too!

This was the most unexpected genre for this jam, and I loved it! I had a lot of fun exploring this person's house in both present and future, picking up a new hobby and visiting the old and new versions of each room. I enjoyed imagining what everything looks like, but also loved the dramatic toilet illustration that is the title page.

Great job on the game!!

That was very cool! Very unique take! I don't usually play text adventures but something about this was gripping, it also (seemed, and did) have a fair and restrained scope. I do think it could have benefited from clearer "Action is being taken" text, perhaps a different color. I did notice these one off sometimes, but they weren't clear. Also a form of inventory (though I dont know the limitations of the genre). I knew what I wanted to do, but had a hard time knowing if it was happening.
Still, this was a nice experience, feels weird that I feel like i've went through the house(s) even if their was no visuals. Great stuff!

This is the only text adventure game I've seen in the whole jam. Really interesting use of the prompt!

Lots of texts xD

It's my first time playing the text-adventure game. There's a lot of texts but they are well written! I love the concept of traveling between the future and the past. I know this shouldn't be a suggestion, but, I would love to see this story being implemented in a 3D type of game. It would be really interesting. Also, I'm not sure about the game engine to make this, but if it is possible, a music and sound effect would add some immersion to the story. Above all, this is a really interesting text-adventure game. Well done!

I was not expecting to see a twine game this jam and I am glad you broke that expectation that was a very enjoyable story told in a jam unique medium.

Wow. This takes me back few years ago when I tried playing text adventure games! Cool idea of making text adventure game and quite good story. I wasn't really expecting any sounds but you might consider adding sound for flushing. Good job!

What a wonderful story and a really clever use of theme. Loved discovering the apartment, and also loved the clever use of hints for when I became stuck. It was a great story too, about moving on in life, that I think could be amplified more if you were making amends.

My feedback would be about presentation. Obviously, it's a text adventure, but there are few things you can do within that. For one, the "I've read this" colour is very similar to the normal colour, so maybe use a little asterisk or something, especially for colour-blind people. I would also have somewhere to see your inventory, maybe as an option on the menu? Lastly, I would use bolding to emphasize the important parts of the room.

But these are minor tweaks to a game that I genuinely loved playing. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much!! We definitely could tweak the color more, the "i've read this" colour tends to be a default thing Twine does automatically, but we could do a better job accounting for it and making it more accessible. Also, inventory is definitely a scrapped concept we didn't quite have enough time to add into the jam- I think it would help a lot for any future updates we do! And I would go ham on bolding relevant and important words. I appreciate all the feedback!

Very original theme that reminded me of older text adventures. Super charming! If I could give one extra tip — I think that the game could become even more engaging if there was a flushing sound when you're flushing the toilet. Small detail though.

Developer(+1)

Haha, that would be awesome!! Definitely a post-jam update, if we can figure out how to implement it well. Thank you so much for playing!

Unspeakable!

First time playing text adventure and I really loved it!!

good job!

Super charming and fun. If this were expanded on in the future, it could make for a clever story. As other reviewers have already said, the main downside is presentation. In the future, perhaps a solid medium could be developed to express the experience in a more substantial way. Regardless, this was a very creative submission, and hope you will expand on in the future.

OMG THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL I'M GONNA CRY - a charming, wholesome, nostalgic text adventure with time travel in 48 hours... I'm blown away. I'm not sure if it needs a third quest in the past to round out the story or if it's perfect the way it is, but either way WELL DONE and full marks.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. We actually did have plans for a third puzzle, it ended up in the game as a little text blurb about a long lost taste of ice cream, there wasn't quite enough time to implement it.

IF, time travel and ICE CREAM??? Triple threat! Go for it!

Outstanding piece, the soon to be award-winning TTT should be in every serious reader's collections. On a more constructive note, the story was really great! It was nice and short and the hint system was really nice. It would have been really nice if there were some sound effects maybe, like when you flushed or found an item, but it would be a kind of all or nothing type deal. Also, I think it would be nice if the background wasn't full black but more gray, and the white text was less white and more gray -- just a bit softer on the eyes. Great work and very charming!

Very charming and sweet story and a unique take on the theme! Did not expect any text adventures in the jam, but this pulls off the theme well.

Submitted(+1)

Very cool concept! Definitely has potential for a full, expanded version. For exemple with graphics, or to go another route, with voiceover.

Submitted

very cool but something was missing it was nice but I would like if you added a bit more colour(I'm canadian so for me its spelt colour).

Developer

What sorts of additional color were you thinking? Background, or in text?

Submitted

maybe add an image in the background showing me what's happening or just a map of the house telling where you are would be nice as well because its hard imagining the layout of the house, nd would be better if I saw it visually. and about the colour I feel like the colors you used could like the orange and black didn't make me feel the mood of the game, the game is about finding a lost jacket or something and yet the colour looks like I'm playing a horror game.

Submitted(+1)

That was excellent! What a unique and charming tale and in a way fairly moving as well. This is a fantastic entry!
