Lovely graphics! I included it in my Movie Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out! :)

Thanks for playing! :)

Congratulations! This was my favorite game all around!

This is absolutely beautiful.  I have no more words.

Just perfect.  Well Done everyone!

Really nice and happy, I like the music and the art style. Gameplay has a down tempo Crazy Taxi Feel. One thing that would have helped this game is if the People who you needed to pick things up from had an indicator, such as the Hey showing up on the side of the screen like the deliveries do, maybe with differnt colors to indicate distance. Ohter than tha Awesome job.

Developer

Thanks! Crazy Taxi was definitely an inspiration for the gameplay, so it's cool whenever people pick up on it.

I think one of the solutions we had to that kind of problem was just to have more delivery options available, but it was one of a number of things that we ran out of time to implement - even if it was arguably a pretty simple fix. But thanks again for playing anyway :)

Absolutely stunning. This game is a work of art.

Tons of fun, great music, and great artwork! I can't find anything lacking!

Developer

Thanks!!

This is in my top 3 games. It's great and deserves it's place on the front of itch.io The art, concept, music and gameplay is perfect. If I was a judge this would probably be my winner. #1 hands down.
$18.64  If you beat that let me know in the comments and the challenge will be met.

Thanks so much for the kind words, we really appreciate it!

I can't remember where I've saved the screenshot proof, but dev record at the moment is something around $33 if you want a challenge hah. I've seen a couple other scores in the high 20s too. It's a little luck dependent and we might change how some of the mechanics around score work later so it might not be the same in builds past v1.00, but keep practicing ;)

Does this mean I take the lead? This game's too much fun! A global scoreboard could be fun ^_^

Developer

Nice! I might add in a local high score list in a future update, not sure if I'll be able to get a global one working but I'll look into it. :)

Great game! Made Guy's Top 5:

Thanks for playing :)

To echo the other comments  this was a delight to play! Lovely graphics and sounds, very impressive. I also really enjoyed the simple polish it had, very well executed. I did manage to get myself stuck in the ground by boosting into one of the "steps" up in the ground. I was able to wiggle my way out eventually so not really a big deal, but did throw me off at first.

Great entry! Excellent work!

Developer

Thanks! We're aware of that one, it just wasn't on the priority list when finishing the jam so it might have to wait for a future update. Cheers anyway :)

Beautiful game, gorgeous pixel art, love it.

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it :)

So cute ! An artistic success (graphics, animations, audio), with solid gameplay (thank you for avoiding the usual "WASD" unmanageable with QWERTY keyboards). A nice little game, very well done, Hard to consider this project done in such short time, with so few people. That's probably what are called "talented people". So I join all the other players here to congratulate you, and confirm that this is one of the best entries for this gamejam.

Are you sure this is a Jam game? It's outstanding for a two week work! Very VERY well done! Perfectly captured the sweetness of the characters in the movie; nothing short of excellent graphics sfx and music. So far, the best entry that I tried.

Developer

thanks! we worked pretty hard and i think got a little burned out in the process, but i'm glad it paid off if you enjoyed it :)

Nice solid game experience. A really light file that i could run on any of my PCs. Very enjoyable gaming experience.

NO WAAAY, how did I not see this game before?? Luckily there's still a lot of time to play and rate games! :D because this was very very well done. The pixel art, the music, the gameplay... I enjoyed a lot.

Congratulations, it's an awesome game :)

Wow. Really amazing! Solid gameplay and wonderful visuals and audio.

I had a lot of fun playing this one. Kudos! :)

Submitted(+3)

spot on with the visuals and game design! the game is a bit lacking in substance but it's better to have a well executed simple game rather than a poorly executed complicated one :)

you definitely made a fun and very noticeable game here, congrats!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah we had a few other features or mechanics planned that we had to cut in the end, but glad to hear it was still fun nonetheless :)

I really enjoyed playing this game, cute visuals, wonderful soundtrack, simple but fun gameplay.

I'm a big Hayao Miyazaki / Studio Ghibli fan, so when I saw WIP posts about this game, I couldn't wait to play it.
This game is so beautiful - the anime-styled PixelArt is perfect. It looks just like Kiki and her town. Speaking of which, the parallax scrolling in the background is lovely.
With regards to sound... the music is perfect - I left it on the title screen for ages just to hear all of the music! The SFX is spot-on too, the sound of Kiki's dress flapping in the wind is very believable (as too are the annoying crows - why won't they still leave her alone?!) :D
The game play is fun and simple enough to enjoy again and again. Having clear controls at the start helps new players too.
Overall, a very polished and great entry - congrats & good luck! :D

(P.S. - I only earned $9.49 - should probably try harder!)

One of the best so far! Super cute game, the art is awesome, the gameplay is fun, but I completetly agree on DrJedd on the change of direction drifting. I liked that you looped thorugh the level if you kept on going straight, I'm not sure I would have thought of that :p
Towards the end the crows were really annoying, maybe if we had a way to deal with them, even temporarily, would have been cool. I forgot if they are also in the movie and if Kiki does something to get rid of them though, it's been a while since I've watched it!

(+2)

Thank you! It's lovely receiving such positive comments! To address the crows, in the movie they just sort of leave Kiki alone once she's away from their part of the forest, so their annoyance is quite accurate, lol!  It's certainly something that we can have another look at though. Thanks again!

Damn this one is super cute.
A fantastic choice of base movie, and a very good understanding of the atmosphere!
Nice controls, I found E and spacebar more intuitive than X and C.
Gameplay is fun, satisfying. Maybe a drifting phenomenon upon changing direction would make the movements more satisfying but not quite sure about that one.
Congrats and keep making games :)

Thank you so much for the feedback! We really appreciate the kind words, and these are definitely things that we'd like to re-evaluate to improve it in the future.
