Anything you want to say to players before they play?
This game is my first game ever, and is unfinished at the time of upload. I have learned a ton though.

Interesting game! I included it in my Movie Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out! :)

Congratulations on your first game jam entry! Learning and putting something out there is what it's all about, and I hope you stick with it. If I might offer a criticism of the game in its current state it is that the turning is not really sharp enough to feel like you can get where you want to go. Taxi looks cool though!

Developer

Yeah, ran out of time for coding, so I hadn't really got much in the way of play testing done. So thanks for that feedback. And I'm sorry to say the taxi will undergo a redesign, so I can use wheel collides to get a better feeling handling system. Although it might just be separating the wheels and body to separate objects. I'm right now taking in ideas and waiting for the voting to end before I update it more. I'll also look at get SFX in the near future to help it out. The feel I want to go for is something like a combination of crazy taxi, burnout paradise, and some of tony hawks, to make for some fun stunting play. Maybe with a timer in which to try and hit continually spawning "targets" have a way of keeping track of the score, and if once that's done, it is well revived expand upon it further by getting it out of the prototype stage.

If you had fun and learned something than you won. Stick with it. Don't hold a project hostage to what other people think, If you want to finish it do it for you and if your heart is no longer in it start a different project that you are passionate about. Great work thanks for submitting.

Cool, thanks a ton. I did do, literally everything myself. The terrain tools are unity standard, but I made my own textures. And I do plan on doing more jams.

Congrats on your first game :D

It's a great start and it is certainly heading towards the vision. I'd love to see it updated. I like the menu and when the gameplay scenes get the same amount of time to them it can turn into quite the thing :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks. Yeah it took way more work than I expected to get those menus working. Who new 3d buttons could involve like 60 lines of code. I'm exaggerating but it wasn't quite just the if then statements I was expecting.

Well done, congrats on your first game. It's looking good, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. Flying taxi?

Developer

I didn't actually have the time to get to the core mechanic I wanted which it was to be to hit various flying targets, but My coding skills just aren't as fast as my imagination. So I went with far too large of a scope. and I shoulda started with gameplay rather than menus. it was just easier for me to think of build order in the order I play games.

As a first game this is good and it looks like you have quite a few of the basics implemented. With some further development and polish this could be quite fun. If you do continue to update it, one thing I noticed is that the steering is the wrong way round when reversing the car. Good job though. Welcome to the world of game development :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks, Sorry it took so long to thank you but I was kinda busy playing and rating other games, and giving feedback where I could. I'm not seeing the reverse problem though, when in revers if you press left the car swings to the right, just like in life. So.. umm were you expecting to hit left and go left when reversing?

Submitted

I know, so many great games to get through! I went back and checked the reversing thing and it definitely isn't right. Its hard to explain without an image but just think about how the wheels turn under the car or even better jump on something like GTA/Forza/Gran Turismo and you'll see what I mean :)

Developer(+1)

Yeah I didn't really see it until I got into my car and went in reverse, it definitely isn't right. I just couldn't see it and my mom who I had test it after you said that said it seemed right. But now that I've seen it you are right.
