How does your game fit the theme?
Inspired by dual purpose game mechanics, we thought to allow the player to gain control of environmental objects by trading control of their main weapon. This flips the power dynamic between out of control and in control with each throw of the sword.

Did your team create the art for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

Yes

We created all art during the game jam

Did your team create the audio for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

No

We used pre-existing audio

Amazing artwork, great job :) Had a bit of trouble getting stuck with corners during jumps, but that's fixable :)

Very nice game. I liked the concept.

This game makes me go YES! Love the art!

It's so good but it's too punishing. This would be my favorite game if the jump was higher/more forgiving and if the sword was more forgiving. Not having a timer also seems like a missed opportunity because it's very fun to speedrun.

Developer(+1)

We're glad you enjoyed it! It seems we have a lot to work on movement wise

Cheers :)

actually fire, set the any% speedrun record @2:54.33. Beat one of the Devs on a speed run of the game. All round a solid effort, the rule34 will be nice too ;)

I really like the game! Really nice core mechanic!

Tho I think the player controller is a bit clunky in my opinion.

The art is pretty cute and the music does fit pretty well the game!

Overall nice game, well done!

Also feel free to check out my game, would love some critique from you :P

Unironically the only platformer on GMTK Game Jam 2020 i can be bothered playing. Exceedingly based.

i love platformers with interesting main mechanics

Art is very cool and the idea is great! My only gripe is the use of "RMB" as the "control" button, as it is a browser game it popups the rmb menu everytime!

Concept has a lot of potential and will be looking out for a download and a post jam release! :)) Very nice!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Maybe that control scheme was  a bit of an oversight, apparently we only tested it while the cursor was within the game

Cheers for the feedback :)

really polished in both presentation and design but it didn't really fit the theme.

Our interpretation was that you give up control of the sword at times in order to trigger circuits in the level, but I agree that the level design could do more to emphasise that loss of power.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm commenting on all that I think could improve the maximum possible games, but this, speechless! Excellent job!

Really great game with so much polish! Only critique would be that jumping should be a bit more forgiving when you're just *barely* off the edge, since it feels a bit testy as-is. Fantastic work!

An immensely polished and mechanically intriguing submission, although the controls are slightly off.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for giving our game a go! We agree wholeheartedly that the controls a bit shonky, and that's my fault (I was the programmer). We'll improve it after the jam!

Submitted(+3)

Man, this is such a polished game! Very impressive for 48 hours!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! All credit goes to @the_rembo for the great artwork and animations :D

Challenge/precision/etc platformers aren't really my thing, but I can admire this one. The main mechanic is super cool and seems to have lots of potential. I'd like to see it be a bit easier to control, particularly with aiming the power spear. Like I've seen mentioned in other comments, having a bit of "coyote time" would be very nice too.

The visual style and overall aesthetic/theming is awesome and makes me want to see/learn more about the world. The snappy sfx for the power spear is really nice too.

Really really good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, we couldn't have asked for better feedback! We'll  improve the movement and level design once the voting is over, since we've got some ideas on new circuitry and better overall use of the mechanics.

Submitted(+2)

Really great art and animations for a fun little game!

Submitted(+1)

the art is one of the best I've seen on the jam, I didn't see the theme well on it, as I suppose you get out of sword or something? great entry it has alot of potential!

Developer(+1)

Once we were close to the deadline,  we kinda realized we went off on a bit of a tangent from the theme :D Thanks so much for playing!
