Awesome game, really cool assets, really cool concept. I think this could be developed into a full game an released.

How does your game fit the theme?
I thought it would be cool to think about how a game of Chess could be made "out of control" and what I came up with was a game of Chess but as a roguelike, and where the piece you control keeps changing.

Very fun idea, love the concept of a roguelike chess game! Could use some polish, but it could turn into a fantastic little game experience :D Cheers for submitting
Wow, I liked this game a lot! The concept is pretty clever and the execution is very good too! It can easily become some zelda-like full indie game. Congrats!
Really fun and unique take on changing the game of chess. One bug that I may have found was when you spawn as a pawn you could only move forward until you can't make any more moves, so you just skip your turn. At the same time the AI was able to constantly attack me since I couldn't make any moves. Other than that the game was fantastic, I would get addicted to playing this.
I really like this concept!
The first level I found that the piece (I chose black) was too dark against the dark squares, and since the identifying silhouette of a chess piece is in the top half, if I was ever standing in a white square, it was kinda hard to see what piece I had turned into. Otherwise really neat! I'm sure there's a full game that can be made out of this.
Really cool idea and relaxing music. It had a nice variety of items and interesting gameplay Very good work!
Pieces coming from out of the screen felt a bit cheap most of the time, but it's still a really solid, original take. I wish it had a bit of 'checkers' energy as well, you know - the whole chaotic-chain-reaction energy - it felt rather structured with single moves, done one by one.
One of the few games I actually played all the way through. Well done!
I'm always down for some traditional turn-based roguelikes. The idea to use chess figures is really great. Struggled a bit with enemy movement since I'm not a chess player. Maybe the movement of the enemies should have been also telegraphed? Had fun non the less. Definitely one of my favorite entries so far. Good job! :)
Damn rooks coming from nowhere all the time!
I liked the idea. A simple rougelike where your and the enemy movements are restricted by well-known rules is cool. It’s not easy and sometimes you cannot do anything in narrow corridors to save yourself (e.g. there is a rook somewhere and you’re a bishop. maybe skip turns until you become another figure? I don’t know..) but overall it was fun!
Wow oh wow! Best game so far! I love it, and i want more! Lovely sounds, feels nice. Maybe the camera smoothing is a bit too extreme and makes it annoying to move with those 1-square per turn pieces.
The only criticism is that the out of control thing feels tacked on. Oh well. Slap on some story about a curse and it'll work.
I'm not sure how but I broke the game a few levels in and couldn't move anymore. The browser console just says this:
Uncaught (in promise) DOMException: Operation is not supported
Wonderful presentation and really interesting idea, but a little bit more difficulty would make it more engaging in my eyes :)
