I noticed that PayPal is still a viable payment option on these games.
okay so over the course of the last 8 hours there was a MASSIVE drop in the visible nsfw games, comics, and books (meaning more was shadowbanned that wasn't already, and a chance even some removed in that purge)
Over the past few days I've been looking at the https://itch.io/comics/newest/nsfw https://itch.io/books/newest/nsfw and https://itch.io/games/newest/nsfw tabs recording the "results" number ever few minutes or so over the course of the day and things where stabilizing, but then a MASSIVE drop happened last night with all 3 that I'm not sure what the cause was. I can only imagine some games may have been removed completely as well because this seemed like a second run through of what was still visible that maybe "shouldn't be" by the new/constant changes. I share this because there were probably cases of someone seeing their game was shadow banned and then an hour or day later it wasn't (as the numbers where increasing a bit) but I would recommend checking again today if your games were or were not shadowbanned as they may be now.
as of right now at 9:14 AM est Comics shows 560, Books shows 425, and games shows 5,752 visible nsfw content. (keep in mind these numbers may also be different on different folks clients, but these are what they show for myself)
Something else number wise I noticed,
On my game on the analytics it shows today it has 233 views, HOWEVER it has 366 browser plays? um 366 is 133 over 233... I'm wondering if other shenanigans are going on and if other devs can confirm if their games shadow banned or not if their analytics look strange? Cases where a Games view count is much smaller than the download or browser play.
Unless maybe refreshing the page doesn't update the count, while clicking play does update the browser play count.
I'm just wondering if the site is bugging due to the drastic changes or intentionally hindering stats so that adult games don't show up in "most popular"/"recently popular" Any info from devs will help!
Your game shows up for me searching https://itch.io/games/tag-2d/tag-no-ai/tag-rhythm its a fair bit down, but it is there.
Not saying it wasn't/isn't shadowbanned, but I do wonder if the web clients are showing different things to different people, Like maybe some folks are seeing more/less games or even different games that are or are not shadow banned for others.

It appears that one of the educational games published by our nonprofit program, Gaming Against Violence, is not appearing in searches now.
Stuck in a Dark Place is a game designed to teach young people about the meaning and importance of consent:
"This narrative-based game covers many different aspects of consent through eight chapters. [...] Stuck in a Dark Place includes discussions of non-consensual sexual activity including assaults."
This, and several of our other games, are played in classrooms in conjunction with the free lesson plans we have published for use by educators.
Although the game is rated "T" (ESRB) and "12+" (App Store) we added the "NSFW" label on itch.io to avoid re-traumatizing those who have previously experienced trauma. We take a trauma-informed approach to game production and provide content warnings on our games whenever applicable. Marking it as "NSFW" is just one way we strive to avoid creating harm. This is clearly not an adult game.
As with all of our games, it is also free.

It looks like itch has mass shadowbanned anything with the nsfw tag, & your game was unfortunately caught up in the crossfire. If it's not actually nsfw then maybe remove the tag?
Thanks. We are considering that but are waiting to hear back from itch first.
(1) We are not certain if removing the tag will automatically un-shadowban the game.
(2) The tag has been helpful in preventing folks from inadvertently playing a game they would otherwise avoid. Too many people do not read warning labels. In the past, we've had a few people who did not pay attention and wound up being upset by the game.
If itch does not fix this then we will try removing that tag next. We do believe that there are some NSFW games that are not adult games but how those labels are interpreted seem to be determined differently by each community.
Removing the tags was my prior solution but that doesn't seem to be working on my end anymore.
Call PayPal and voice your complaints. Daily. Others are doing the same. This whole thing started because of people complaining about PayPal cooperating with Itch and Steam platforming works they didn't like. If we call PayPal en mass and clog their phones lines on the daily, we may be able to force the decision to reverse. All we have to do is show PayPal that they're going to be losing more money from folding to censorship than they would be if they actually respected artistic freedom.

I think the game you are actually looking for is Naked Adventure . Sounds similar to what you decribed. Im looking for a different game which is a mix of Summer for You/ Second base, all I remember from it is that it was: open world, had an energy bar and time cycle, hand a lot of female characters, a guide and one of the female characters secretly worked at a nightclub to pay for her daughters college or smth. If you can. Help. Or it might be this Minami's Lewd Adventures v0.1.2

Yes, he did. But no, this seems unlikely to change the current situation with Itchio & Payment Processors (PPs).
The Executive Order (EO) is limited in several ways, including the fact that PP are not financial institutions (FIs) but are instead servicers. However, PP could arguably decide to comply anyway if they are perceived as engaging in discriminatory behavior. But, the current situation is due to activist groups, not because of FI regulations. The EO won't change the impact of those activist groups; it seems unlikely the PPs will care.
Also, the EO only prohibits FIs from "politicized or unlawful debanking" which might appear to apply here, but the EO's focus is not the protection of NSFW content; the EO claims to protect political or religious beliefs.
If the EO does somehow change PP willingness to process "adult" material, the EO will likely only last until the next president is elected.
Real change would probably require Congress to act. And it should be bipartisan if it is going to have a lasting impact. The other real change that is needed is to break up the duopoly of MC/Visa. It does not seem likely that any of these things will happen very soon.
All of the above will have court challenges. It might be that pushing back against the activist groups will be more effective than hoping the EO will help in this situation.
The current situation has not been handled well by anybody. We are a nonprofit org and none of our games are adult - but two are shadowbanned.* This is because, among other things, Stripe and Itchio moved ahead so quickly with their actions that affected communities did not have a reasonable opportunity to respond. The adverse impact on groups like ours might eventually involve the legal system and that is morely likely to change this mess than the EO will.
(None of the above is legal advice but just a high-level discussion of the law and public policy. I have worked for, and with, FIs and PPs in the past. I also have a law degree. And now I run a nonprofit org that is being harmed by these actions.)
