I tend to start with a very detailed game design word document. I like to add all the info I can about the characters to help flush out the world. Even if it is useless info like birthdays and favorite color.

If people want to pirate your games, you must be doing something right. I recently saw a post of a person asking for a torrent for one of my games and I just simply messaged him a download key.

My favorites are Unreal and GDevelop. GDevelop is wonderful because it has a lot of prebuilt features you can quickly use. Also GDevelop is super easy when developing for mobile.

You got +1 follower from me. It seems like the twitter algorithm is hard to break into. I'm pretty sure if you are not a paid member you are pushed down in the algo. You can always check out Bluesky, I've noticed it has a pretty good gamer community. cageygames.bsky.social

Yes, I enjoyed working in Godot. Currently I've been using GDevelop because it is easy to prototype ideas and it exports to mobile easily.

Welp, I was gona follow :\

Is anyone making any sales after this collective shout nonsense? I know adult games are deindexed but it seems people are not wanting to buy games from Itch after this current mess.

Keep up the good fight, it seems like these censorship freaks won't stop until the world bends to their will.

Nice! Totally going to have to try this out in my future project!

I agree it is pretty sad to be thrown under the bus just because a small group of Karens want to censor what adults look at.

It was nice before Collective Shout decided that adults are not allowed to buy/sell certain games.

Use new tools and have fun with them. Don't let gatekeepers stop you from your own artistic expression.

Nutaku is an option but you have to apply and get accepted first. If you find an alternative be sure to let us all know.

I do admire your optimism but its hard to rally when the big banks are not budging. Censorship groups have high budgets and can just wait out this current storm of complain calls, while developers are left in the dust with lower and lower sales. It would be cool to see alternate payment processors emerge but I don't think a duopoly is going to crumble very fast.

Ever since the payment processor censorship things have been much worse.

I fear that these Karens are winning with censorship, we might not see games get reindexed :(

I like it, it seems like a decent place to promote my games. If you search me out and give me a follow I'll follow back <3

Collective Shout deserves to be booed and mocked

Seems like my games are unlisted, it makes me sad because I'm just a solo developer being kicked around by forces I can't control.

AI is a fun tool. The hysteria backlash around using it makes people sound like the Amish.

Sex sales, some have called it an unfapped market ;)

Cool little vibe coding project, clicker games are a great way to release some stress. Keep up the good work!

I really hope things go back to normal. Being delisted for doing nothing is really demoralizing.

Even worse! I always thought America was a champion of free speech but that seems to be crumbling along with the rest of the world.

Its sad that some corporation can decide what free Americans can and can not look at. It seems to go against a lot of values I love about this country.

I'm developing a new game, what group of Karens do I need to send the script to for approval?

A game born on Itch is now growing up to be on Steam soon! It even has its own Steam Achievement!

Scream into the void and hope it screams back at you.

Thanks for the constructive feed back!

I do think I will update the game in the near future adding more features and content.  I did notice the "Made with GDevelop" logo blocking the buttons, I totally want to fix that.

The art was generated by me locally on my machine using Stable Diffusion.  I made sure the game had the tag "AI Generated" and checked "Yes" in the AI disclosure setting on Itch. I might update the game page description too since knowing what tools I used is important to some gamers. Thanks for checking out the game and have a kick ass day RedWolf390!

That is sad you have to deal with censorship over your artistic expression. Here is my favorite quote about what your going through, it has always helped me when I felt suppressed.

Looks neat, I'll have to try it out someday. Everyone loves a good cart ride!

Neat idea

Hopefully everything works out. You can always use an easier game engine like RPG Maker to start turning your plot into a game.

Neat!

Great site, totally will post more of my games on the wall very soon!

A cat that you can pet.

I like working with AI art, it looks so much better and more unique than CC0 assets.

It would be interesting to see AI work with games NPC AI logic. If in the future you could train a bot to playtest your game and then use that data to create more lifelike interactions and behaviors for in game NPCS that sounds like the future.

You can also use new AI tools to help translate your games. Make sure you find a proof reader to make sure everything is correct though.
