I like the idea here and the application of the theme adds a new coat of paint to the asteroids concept. I really struggled with the actual gameplay though as I found it very hard to hit enemies and I would often get killed by an asteroid as soon I changed areas. But the core here is solid and with a little polish on the rest, I think it could be fantastic.

Cool game! I enjoyed the gameplay and thought the physics were impressive. Nice work!

Thanks for open sourcing your project!

GREAT GAME!!

I like the "asteroids"-basis mixed with the "find your way" gameplay.

I managed to finish it in the 6th attempt, those damn black holes... *grrrr :)

Nice clean graphics (cool, you used SVG as i see on github) and soundeffects. The explosion particles could last longer. I guess, you are calculating the lifetime of the particles based on fixed values not delta-time-dependent (as i did not find any calculation of "time since last update" in your code)

But its a good game!

Developer

Thank you. I'm on a mission to promote SVG for it's coolness, it's potential is usually just wasted on icons. The lifetime of the explosions is indeed correlated to the framerate, how did I miss that!  Good eye, you're a pro!

This is quite the difficult little asteroids clone. Good job!

Nice game. The gameplay overall felt really challenging - would even say difficult.

I think either the energy could run out slower or the ship could be turn around by following the cursor.

The sound effects are very well made, i love the controls i can even feel that i am in space, i think the gameplay is very well balanced. I love the details - that the black hole gets bigger and also that when it eats an asteroid it spawns smaller pieces of asteroids, I even died because of it once.

Developer

You get it. Thank you. Can't take credit for the audio though, had to source that from pixelbay as I'm not very gifted in the sound department.

Great game loved playing it, I found it a bit to challenging at least for me :)) but it was addicting

Developer

I will definitely do something about the difficulty, it has been mentioned a lot. Good to hear you had a good time playing it.

Very nice work

Thank you.

Like the minimalistic graphi, very cool. Nice inertia and physic for the spaceship. The game is clear and it's plays smoothly. Very good work.

Developer

Thank you,. I'm going for the early 00' s flash games feel, glad that comes across.

pretty solid overall, i had a bit of a hard time controlling the player but i can see it being a really cool Speedrunning game, just slap on a timer and it's already mad replayable.

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I will.

Pretty fun little game!  I had it full screen and it was a little confusing with seeing the entire background fill the screen, but the gameplay was in the upper left quadrant.  I really like the player mechanics and the particle burst for your velocity.  I didn't get very far since I kept dying as soon as I followed the arrow, but I managed to destroy a few enemies and asteroids.  Cool game overall!

Developer

Im guessing you are running on the Brave browser? Reminds me I have to log an issue about that. Try it with any other mayor browser. Glad you had fun.

Submitted

I was running current Chrome on my MacBookPro.  I tried on my older dekstop Mac in Chrome and it plays as expected.  Strange that the older browser played fine!

I like the tense feeling of going to the next screen and hoping not to explode. Really catchy sound effects.

Developer

Thanks, glad you like it!

I like the concept for this theme (racing against your dwindling power) but man I have the worst luck, cause I kept dying immediately to the TIE fighter on the second screen.

Developer

I've started calling  them pi fighters.  Its a lame pun. Because these ones are shaped like a circle and doing collision detection with circles is 'easy as pi'.

I like the art style, and you can’t go wrong with asteroids. I like the power twist you added, and the black holes are dangerous! The game is a bit difficult. It would be cool to have a shield around the ship, which can be powered down by a bullet, but also powered on after a short while, or give the ship some extra health points. Being killed by one bullet is tough. Good work.

Developer

Initially I wanted to add power management and you should be able to allocate some to shields that would drain the power extra if it got hit. Sadly there was not enough time left to implement it.

A little too hard, but cool graphics.

ps. add some screen shots so more people play it :D

Developer

Added those screenshots. Thanks for the tip!

I can't survive more than 30 seconds. I'm a bad player.

Too difficult.

You can add lives or energy shield.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. I agree that adding such features will make the game more forgiveable. It does seem to be set to hard mode by default. Im hoping some might like the challenge.
