Solid artwork and I like the take on the theme! I definitely had some issues with the game lagging here and there but otherwise it played relatively solidly. I was able to clip through a number of walls at the edge of the map too, usually because I was going too liberally on the thrusters. The art was great too.

Nice game. I especially like the art style and and the music which fits very well together. It was a bit hard to hit the sparks, but this might also be just my computer which is not the most powerful. Maybe the reason was, that the feeling for space was at least for me not so good. Hard to say why, maybe because you are floating in a big empty room with only the sparks. Not sure if it would help if you have some more solid items in the play area.

Still this is a solid entry. Congratulations!

I had a lot of fun with this. I really like the art and especially the music choice. I found the trick to get as many sparks early when they are all clumped together. Just hold spacebar and feather a single turn direction. Keeping the right rhythm with the expanding circle gets tricky!

Nice work.

Developer

So glad to read you had fun with Spark Rush! The music genre I used is called breakcore, and its fast paced so i figured it may fit with the 60 second time limit urgency. You are absolutely on track with how to reach the highest score possible! I love the way you described controlling the character as feathering to a single direction. Thank you for the kind and helpful words ♡

Cool game!

Very impressive 3D game! I found the controls a little hard and I think controlling the camera with the mouse would be a little more intuitive. Maybe the collectibles could be a bit bigger or gravitate towards you a bit to make the easier to collect. The music and visuals were very nice. Great work!

Developer

Thank you very much for playing Spark Rush. I am new to making 3D games so this was a fun project to work on. I think adding mouse movement controls is a great idea. And adding gravity will make collecting the power sparks much more accessible. So happy to read your kind comment thanks for all the valuable feedback.

Cool music and art with great visual effects. It’s a bit difficult to control the player, but I managed to gather 230 power sparks.

Developer

So happy to read you enjoyed the music and visuals.   Would need a score of 400 to unlock level 2 the neon jungle themed level. Grateful you gave Spark Rush a try. I am looking into making easier controls, thanks for the feedback.

Hi!

Very spectacular! But unfortunately I didn't manage to collect more than 20 energy :D. Maybe because I don't know something, but it was very difficult to fly through lightning.

It would be nice to be able to mute/unmute the sound.

Congratulations!

Hi !
Thanks for giving Spark Rush a try. it is recommended to use space bar right at the start of the level so you can move quickly to collect the power sparks before they expand outward. Hope this helps. Sound management options are a good idea to add, thanks for the suggestion. I enjoyed playing your game too, good job  ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

Amazing little arcade game, I love the floating, spacey aspect of the scenery and mechanics. So addiciting!

Thank you so much for giving Spark Rush a try! Your kind words are motivation for me.

Hitting the bolts is tough with these controls. Good job with the game though.

Developer

Thank you for playing, will see what I can do about the controls in the future.

Submitted(+1)

Beautiful game, but the controls! What it might needs is a magnet/attract mode on the player so that you don't have to precisely hit the bolts in 3d space, which is really hard, and instead the bolts move towards you when you are close enough. This would probably make the gameplay go from frustrating and hard to fun.

Developer(+1)

Such kind words, grateful for your feedback. Thats a great idea, a magnet would make it much easier to collect the lightning bolts and to get an even higher score. 😄 Thank you for giving ⚡Spark 🔋 Rush⚡ a play.

Interesting but the controls are hard to master

Really nice effects and visuals! It also runs surprisingly well with everything that's going on.

Developer

Thank you, I am surprised at how well it runs because there are over 700 power sparks models being loaded plus a shader on them, so was glad i could get through the game on web. Unfortunately there is a bug on level three menu screen where it will Out Of Memory Error and crash occasionally. Was not sure how to fix it, so during export I messed with some of the compression settings and that seemed to help with the error.

Great graphics and gameplay! It took me a while to realize that the space bar is used to move forward—muscle memory. Actually, I didn't figure it out on my own and had to consult the manual. :)

Developer

Thank you for giving it a play, glad to read you enjoyed the graphics 😀

great music, good visuals.

regarding the controls/movement i think i'd prefer a more free movement like a flight sim (roll/bank and forward/backward) instead of that up/down movement.

Developer

Thanks for explaining how I could improve the movement controls. I was struggling with that aspect of the game, so looking forward to researching how to code a player controller for airplanes that can actually soar through the sky instead of what I have now.
Happy you enjoy the music and visuals 😁

Fun game! I was quite impressed by the 3d visuals and liked the gameplay and audio as well. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing Spark Rush, I am happy to read you enjoy the 3D visuals, gameplay, and audio. It was a very fun project to put together.

Very trippy. I like the concept of the powerups slowly expanding away form each other. The movement took some time to get used to. Really cool 3D environment great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing, I am glad you see the visuals as kind of trippy lol. Sweet! I agree it is kind of a fun concept, the way the power sparks expand and move around, it also adds to the difficulty curve of the game. The movement controls need some tweaking and I aim to learn from this project. Grateful for your feedback, also I enjoyed playing your game submission too, it reminds me of pokemon.

very well!

Developer

Thanks for playing Spark Rush! Saw you did the programming for your submission, great work! found "Get Away Your Pitchforks From My Oak" to be a really unique game concept.

I love the control in the game! Very smooth and intuitive. Perhaps adding other powerful items in the game or boosting time could make it more interesting.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing Spark Rush. Excited you enjoyed the controls and found them to be smooth and intuitive ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-  Thats a fantastic idea, adding some cool items for boosting time would make the gameplay much better and allow for a higher score. If/when I revisit this project I will look into this addition.
