Cute little game. I like the idea of going around fixing things.

Developer

Thank you, so glad you liked our game <3
There is more variety on puzzles, people and traffic added and more tasks done already in the dev version to be released after the jam.

Can't belive this is made with GDevelop. Nice work, The gameplay is classic but it fit perfectly with the theme. Nice song too (it's Suno,.ai right?=

Developer

Thank you so much <3
Glad that you liked the game.
Songs were made using Udio.

Lovely game, love the graphics. The puzzles are a bit repetitive, would love some variations, and the people got stuck in odd places. Still very good though!

Developer(+1)

Glad thet you liked the game <3
I agree the puzzles were a bit repetitive, I ran out of time to create more variety.

People stuck is already been fixed in the dev version with loads of additions, just waiting to be released after the jam.

Wow! The game is remarkable! It's well-made and fits the jam's theme perfectly!

Developer

Thank you <3
I really enjoyed making it too.

I loved the theme song. I got softlocked at the second power box, I could not push space to return. Really nice title screen pan down to gameplay. Great job!

The level of immersion here is incredible. You built a whole world and made it *thrive*, which I seriously appreciate.

Developer

Thank you <3

Utterly brilliant in every aspect. Was it a little repetitive? Yes. Did I play through to the end? Also yes. I loved the music. There were some bugs, but who cares? The overall experience was fantastic. Well done!

Developer

So glad you liked my game, and nice of you to play it through <3
There are more variety to puzzles to become later on agter the jam

Hi!

Passed the whole game! It was spectacular!

The game world itself is well designed, the graphics are pleasant, the sound complements the gaming experience and makes your job of keeping the lights on in the city not so boring.

Also, the visual part turned out very well! But somewhere in the middle of the way, I got a bit bored doing the same type of tasks, I think some additional unique cases of interactivity could dilute this sameness and deepen the gaming experience. It would also be nice to add an option to exit to the main menu/pause, as well as an option to turn on/off the sound.

I also liked the sound playback when I ran into other townspeople, adds to the fun :).

Cool work with light! It was nice to see my shadow :).

There are certain bugs, when I tried to go down to the subway, unfortunately there is no passage, instead there are certain problems with the visual part, which still arose sometimes in the process. But in the general background, they do not spoil the picture as a whole, so congratulations!

Developer

Thanks, I'm so glad that you liked the game.
The puzzles are a tad repetitive, I ran out of time to add more that I wanted like needing to change light bulbs and different puzzle boxes, etc.
You can press Enter to restart the game to the Main menu.
Yea subway doesn't let you transition anywhere yet, going to be added later on.
The pink glitch is a collision box that was forgotten and resided in wrong layer so it appears randomly in front og the camera when going down from street level.
Sound settings and more settings options are already made in the dev version waiting for the jam to be over ;)

Submitted(+1)

Oh really, the enter key takes you back to the menu, unfortunately it's not mentioned anywhere, or I couldn't find it.

I understand that there are a lot of you :).

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Ah need to write that up, I forgot :D
There are me...
Also Teemu made the logo for the loading screen and Cillian did some SFX.
Usually Cillian is making more but he had his own project and such.

Love the 80s vibes! Your ability to integrate complex mechanics seamlessly is impressive. It really enhances the gameplay experience!

Developer

Thank you for the praise <3
That was kind of a bit what I was going for, so nice that you caught up on that ;)

Submitted(+1)

Incredibly beautiful graphics! They come at a bit of a performance cost, but the game is very fun nevertheless, and theme-fit is great.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the praise <3
I'm so glad you liked our game.
The performance hit is a bit over I agree, but I wanted to make a relaxing beautiful looking game that doesn't that much suffer from fps drops, or at least I hope it doesn't.

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! I really enjoyed the puzzles and graphics. It's a cool idea that you can climb the street lights.

Developer

So glad you liked the game.
I had plans to add the ability and need to change light bulbs for the street lights which is why I did the climbing routine, but tweaking the puzzle box functionality and IRL stuff made me skip it since ran out of time.

Graphics and sound effects are nice. Controls are easy, and the music is fitting. I also appreciate the arrow indicating where to go, otherwise I wouldn’t know what to do. I liked the smaller puzzles better than the larger, but the puzzles can get repetitive over time. The theme is spot on, and overall a good entry.

Developer(+1)

So glad you liked our game.
Yea the puzzles are a bit repetitive, I had intention to craft more and with different pieces, but had to rework the puzzle box routine a few times from scratch.
Will be adding more content and different types puzzles later on.

Submitted(+1)

I loved the graphics and gameplay. I just found the puzzles a little easy and repetitive, there doesn’t seem like there is a progression curve and I solved most of them just clicking randomly. With a little bit of polish around the input, puzzles and NPC this feels like a solid start to something really nice.

Developer

So nice to hear you liked our game.
Puzzles are a bit easy yea, it was more for the game jam to be as easy access relaxing type.
More puzzle types are coming up after the jam though.

Submitted(+1)

Great experience, Love the low res cartoony graphics, the puzzles are satisfying  truly a good submission.

My critique would be that fixing all the street lights feels light a monumental task in one go, maybe this is by design, but I think it would be better if gameplay was broken up into shorter segments, although there is something meditative about the simplicity of the way it is.

And my other thought is although the music is nice, it feels out of place in game.

Great submission :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the fedback, so glad you liked our game <3

Yea the amount to fix to pas the level kind of overshot a bit due to running out of time.
I had planned to make more and different puzzles as well as some other repair tasks like changin lightbulbs but alas, ran out of time due to wasting a few days rewriting the puzzle logic a few times over :D

Developer(+1)

For the music I was going with a mellow relaxing track with lyrics telling the tale of the city power grid.

Submitted(+1)

Excellent game, loved the bob the builder dude, the visuals, the audio/music/vibes, and the game play was fun. My only feedback would be that the player controller is a bit rough. I really wanted like a 3rd person camera or something that would let me look around and explore the city more. What was the point of being able to climb the light post? Nice work

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and so glad you liked our game <3
Gotta tweak the player control later on after the jam, thanks for the feedback.

The light pole climbing was an idea that on some poles there would be broken lights that needed to be changed but I ran out of time whn I had to rewrite the logic solving and lighting from scratch to make the game more fluid and playable.

Good Energy Power

Developer

Thanks, I had a real blast doing the game and the puzzles.
Please try to ix all of the 26 lamp posts and 8 power boxes to listen to the lovely end game music <3
