It is surprising the complexity of the game that was made in just 72 hours. Making a strategy game is a brave decision. Well done, I am impressed!!!
Thanks for the kind words Vamperro!
Good game love the concept, the art and the mechanics. Check out my game if you get the chance I mean you are a Caterpillar with a handgun what's not to like!?!
I find this game pretty boring if i had to be honest...
You just have to wait for one of the three bars to go down (waiting it's usually something I don't like in video games), to bring it back up, and repeat the cycle.
And never EVER distract yourself, even for a split of a seconds: the game knows when you do it, and it will make you lose, trust me ;)...
The challenge comes from thinking ahead. The resource demands increase exponentially and the more rooms you have of a certain type, the more storage you have of that resource. However, building too many resource rooms decreases your income since the percentage of buggy rooms decreases, but having a high percentage of buggy rooms increases the chance of a glitch, which can decrease up to 75% of a certain resource. I do agree, that you really need to pay attention to the game. Perhaps a bit too much, but it is the post-apocalypse and you're trying to survive so the game should be a bit tense.
I played your game for no more than 5 minutes before closing it out of boredom. I don't think I got the complete experience that the game wanted me to have, and I think it's mostly my fault... (I say this because I didn't notice any of the strategic aspect of the game)
Really cool concept! It's tricky to get the balance right between spending, adding bug rooms or saving up. Nice job!
Great strategy game!
This is such a good strategy game! The visuals are amazing, the controls are great and overall it is actually quite atmospheric due to the lonesome house and the actual need for a bunker! This could totally be developed further so there is a story to it and different places where some squares you can't place stuff on! All in all, this is a really fun game!
Thanks for the feedback! I do plan to tie in the post-apocalyptic world in a post-jam version and actually have people in the bunker.
wow, i really enjoyed this game — never played anything like it! everything about this execution was wonderful to me — from visuals to music to mechanics — super great job!!
Nice one! I really like the mechanic and the music is super nice too, lots of ambience!
Very relaxing game, nice job.
Strategy games tend to be very difficult for jams because they are very programming heavy. That said, this is an excellent jam entry, and I commend you for making one!
Thanks for the kind words! The balancing certainly was quite difficult, but the game turned out better than I had hoped.
I think I remember you from the Community Game Jam, anyway, amazing game!
Yeah, I recognise your profile pic now that you've mentioned it. Have you made another 'simple and normal game'? Anyway, I check it out in a minute.
Yeah, I created that game, great to see you again in other jam!
Really good visuals. I especially liked the Menu/Tutorial-Design. The gameplay did not catch me as much but I spent quite a while in the game still. :P
Thanks for the feedback. The gameplay is indeed a bit limited, I might try later on to include events in the apocalyptic world to diverse it a bit.
That's a really cool idea! Good luck :D
Nice soothing building game, very nicely done!
I wish it had an ingame tutorial instead of the wall of text tho.
I love how opinions can part so easily in game development. I actually really enjoyed the look of the tutorial because it kinda fit the relaxing, stylized gameplay. :D
mhm yea I agree, the layout of the tutorial was very nice and one of the best wall of text tutorials I've seen.
Wall of text makes it seem a bit harsh, but I personally always prefere tutorials integrated into the gameplay.
You have a point, too. I can agree on both of us being right. xD
Cool idea! I lasted awhile, not sure how it works still haha. I was just drawing the colors evenly then I had money. Maybe start with a more simple concept for a first level, then add on following levels. Great job submitting a game~ Please check out my browser game when you can.
Thanks, I already gave you some feedback.
Took some time for me to figure out. Very interesting.
Thanks, was there something specific that was hard to understand or poorly explained in the tutorial?
To be completely honest, I skipped the tutorial accidentally because I didn't realize you could scroll down. I just went back and looked and that makes more sense.
Not sure I was playing it right, I couldn't get very far. But interesting game!
Thanks for the feedback! The resource bars do blink when they get to zero, but some player feedback when they are getting low would indeed be a great addition. Perhaps even using the corresponding room type in the bunker itself. I couldn't add people walking around in the bunker due to the time limit, but I will definitely add them in the post jam version to lively up the place (maybe some bugs as well).
Relaxing, took some time for me to figure it out
Thanks for the feedback! What did you find difficult to understand? Perhaps I can use the info to improve the tutorial.
Maybe explain that you have to place stuff ^^ I clicked on the background on top a lot
Very atmospheric! Good work!
Pretty fun with an interesting mechanic - nice menus as well.
Thank you for the feedback; where there things you thought could be improved?
