Episode description
The game starts when Rick (Richie in the TV show) enter Arnold's to ask Monzie (Fonzie) for help because a spaceman (Fork/Mork) wants to take him on a remote planet.
YOU are that spaceman, Fork, and your goal is to force Rick out of the building with your special power to take him away with you.
His friends, of course, don't agree with that.

I liked the music as well as the different mechanics in this game (freezing and moving enemies), though the balance could use tweaking. With several enemies all with fast attacks, the player's attacks were extremely slow in comparison and hard to aim. It was hard to do anything when I was getting ganged up on by all of the enemies.

thanks for you note - yes - it's very chaotic and it could be better with a difference balance - I'll do some test with different speed .-) thx

It's a fun style and gameplay! You seem like a real big fan! (Actually I know it, you told me on Twitter)

Although I never watched the show I liked the atmosphere in the game. And the music was quite fitting. Is Mork ... ehm I mean FORK, the same guy that was played by Robin Williams? Anyway, it's hard to catch Rick. But I will try again and use the tips you gave Peregrin =)

Developer(+1)

thanks :-) happy you've been able to try it

And - yes - this Happy Days episode was the first time Mork was shown on screen - Robin Williams was more or less a last second random choice because the designed actor refuse to do that part. He was *brilliant* everybody loved him and everybody praised him - and few days after he was contacted for the first time by a big name for acting (and then he was proposed to do a his own spin-off series called Mork and Mindy). That's more or less the history behind.

I loved the art of the game, although it is really hard to complete (in fact I have not managed to get Rick even near the door xD). Maybe if the enemies were a little slower, or Rick stayed where Fork would leave him when the concentration was broken, it could be a little easier. :)

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing it :-) Some tips (if you're curious)
- you can freeze Rick and THEN move it - so when concentration is broken he won't move
- you can freeze Rick and PUSH him instead of controlling him (the mix of the two things is the best way to win)
- only Monzie is really dangerous at touch - then there's Arnold, that anyway won't hit you in the same continuous way - the other two can just throw objects - you can decide how to move knowing that
- you can increase freezed time shooting more time to the same guy (but Monzie can wake people up neverthless - and he can be freezed for a maximum of 15 seconds top)

Thanks for the tips! I will try again to beat the game... xD

Freezing people is fun... but I somehow was struggling with controls ... loved the visual style.. looks like those of dos games in 1990s...

Developer

thanks :-) and yes sorry game is a bit hard, at least until you start to get the different guys behavior
I'm glad you found the gfx feeling vintage :-)

Loved the pixel art and really cool concept! I got frustrated a few times where I'd take several hits right in a row, but I eventually got the hang of playing it. Really well done! Congrats!

Developer

thank you so much :-) yes - not easy to play at least not at first - thanks to try it :-D

Really awesome pixel art!

Developer

thanks .-)

Great pixel art, and retro feel of the game! Took me a while to get the hang of it, but the game concept is fun. Well done :)

Developer

thank you so much :-)

This is very cool, I had a lot of fun.

Great work!

thank you :-) really happy you had the chance to play it

Feels and looks like an old arcade game, great job!

Developer

thanks :-D

This is cool idea and music is very nice. I like the pixelart a lot, the animations are great!

Developer(+1)

thanks .-)

Great pixel art and nice music. Controls felt a little clunky though and somehow I got Rick to the corner but it wouldn't work.

Developer

uh - sorry - I did a lot of tests - but maybe I have to check better - thanks for your note (and for playing it)

This is pretty cool! The pixel art and the character animation is extremely well done! Like someone else said, CTRL and arrow keys together is an issue on macs. Freezing people and just pushing them around is surprisingly fun.

Developer

thank .-)
a mix of the both (freezing then pushing & controlling - or moving them against each other) is more or less the easier way to win (just controlling is quite harder)

about CTRL - during the weekend I'm going to add a second key (an alternative for CTRL) so to override this unexpected behaviour (sorry - I didn't check that :-|...)

Great character animations and background art, very detailed! Nice job!

Excelent visuals and really intuitive. Also, great choice of music :)

My only issue with it is holding the CTRL key and the arrows simultaneously, which makes my mac wanna shift windows. I have to re-test it on another OS later.

Developer

thanks :-) and sorry for this Mac issue (that I didn't foresee). It happens also in fullscreen mode (you activate/deactivate it pressing F2)

no worries!!! Tomorrow I'll play it again on a PC and all should be well ;)
