Probably one of the few games where I felt like I had an actual chance of making it farther than the starting point, nice job. Game felt very polished!
I loved it! It was punishing but really rewarding, finished in 13 mins for the first time and felt I'd mastered it in the next few runs. I guess it's more about getting the hang of the aim. Got a 1:01 PB :)
I also really like the aesthetics, I feel the amount of random props that are there just really adds to the "foddian" vibes as well!
Very fun! And very simple too. The graphic style is nice and I love all the little homages in them. I imagine it would be very fun for speedrunners to speedrun this
hahahahahahha, holy shit you achieved sub 1 minute run, if I did 45 seconds is because the fish can gain a lot of upwards velocity if you take advantage of the colliders, the video of the current record is in the website of the game, you will see that I skip most of the game hahaha.
Extremely good job on your time, it is not easy at all!
Love the art and originality, you really polished it a lot for real, it is a bit frustrating how punishing it is lol
Wow, really great work! Super polished and solid, and just an overall delight to play!
Holy mackerel! I was hesitant to play this because there was no web build but the comments convinced me to download it and overall I would say I was not disappointed.
The game wasn't too long or unnecessarily difficult (perfect for game jams) but I can clearly see how this will be exciting to speedrun and entertaining to watch. I think the interpretation of the theme, the resulting gameplay, and the art style are all very unique and executed effectively.
Played on Manjaro using Proton (latest version). Finished the game with an AMAZING sub 16 minutes (currently last place on the leaderboard).
Really great and original gameplay, theme and aesthetics to boot. I felt the level design hit a very sweet spot of punishing the player but giving room for some recovery, instead of instantly falling all the way down to the beginning (but with ample opportunity of messing up so hard you actually go back to the beginning). The onboarding was quite simple and effective, so I didn't had any problems starting and having fun with the game from the get go.
There is one bug that happened during the gameplay, in which I walked with the fish (to the water level that was crossing the green patch I was in) while I was pressing the mouse button to aim for the next platform. I'm not sure what happened, but the path to launch disappeared; but when I release the mouse button, the fish launched itself to where I was pointing the mouse, and I ended up losing some progress. This is minor since it only happened once and may actually be a Proton problem, but just thought about giving you guys a heads-up since this game deserves to be polished for a complete release, if you ever wish to keep developing it. Besides that, I had no bugs playing the game using Proton.
The only thing I missed was a background music, even white noise of water or waves. But this is a great game and an amazing entry for the jam, congrats!
hahahahha beating the game is hard enough
We are aware of that bug, but thanks for letting us know.
Sadly, we found that bug when we already uploaded the game, you should not be able to jump from a platform that is above the water level, sorry for the unfair fall.
About the backgound music we tried to find sea noises or things like that but none of the ones we found were acceptable.
I'm glad you liked the game ! good job beating the game
Looks very interesting! Sadly I can't play/rate it. I hope you can release a Web version when uploads are unlocked!
I really liked it.
It's very punishing but also really rewarding once you learn the correct angle for each jump and manage to finish it.
This is really addicting and fun! Love all the details in the environment, silly and charming. I could not complete it, I wish that I didn't lose all progress every time I miss a jump. I think I didn't fall all the way to beginning only once or twice.
