Beaten. 💥 (33.558s)

Funny thing, I actually found out about the horizontal boost thing myself by accident; figured out the skips and got as low as 36s. Only then I noticed you had uploaded your runs, watched it and realized there was that skip at the very end I didn't know about, so I tried again using it and got 33s.
I bet there's still even more room for improvement

Fun game, I actually love how it's similar to GOI but very unique in how the lamp rotates and grabs the obstacles. Such a rewarding difficulty ramp up as well!

Nice game! Couldn't get to the top but I really feel the satisfaction of the difficulty curve, well on theme.

Where did you stop? You can get the path with the tree, going up the grass platforms and then the pianos, then shoe etc and keep trying to go up and ascend from there. I didn't make it too clear, my bad

The controls feel pretty painful imo (not completely in a foddian way, just a bit unfun at some points). Maybe not just the keybinds themselves, you can get somewhat used to them; I feel it's the fact that the game lets you paddle backwards (which I think is unwanted most of the time), meaning you have to pay attention when pressing the keys very quickly or you might change their direction by accident and get dragged back very quickly before realizing it. That's what seemed to annoy me the most, at least. Other than that, I did manage to get to around 15 meters max before the current in some area felt too fast to beat. I think there's potential to the idea

I loved it! It was punishing but really rewarding, finished in 13 mins for the first time and felt I'd mastered it in the next few runs. I guess it's more about getting the hang of the aim. Got a 1:01 PB :)
I also really like the aesthetics, I feel the amount of random props that are there just really adds to the "foddian" vibes as well!

It's painful! Nice!!

I didn't get past the second screen though, I was too busy introducing a full red carpet to all the floors. But it's such a great addition to the looks of tower, I consider that a win! :DDDD

Nice game! Feels quite on theme, although I haven't gotten past the middle platforms yet (and was kind of stuck as of where to go at a point in the longer path on the right, after jumping on the 3 or 4 mushrooms). Definitely infuriating in a good way, despite feeling a bit slow at some points.

Thank you!

Nice one! Thanks for playing :D

I rage quit in space, so that might be a foddian success! lol

But for real, it genuinely felt way too random for me to know when the boat would just turn around completely at random, when it would tilt the way I'm holding or not, and whether it would just break on place or get completely thrown off very far away (maybe I just didn't notice enough indicators for these things, it just felt quite unclear).
It didn't really help either that, after breaking the boat, I'd inevitably hug an obstacle and almost always had to get hit at least 2 or 3 times there before being able to get back on track (just to get hit a few seconds later and be forced to repeat the whole process).

I feel that, to me, combining all of that together resulted in a deep frustration that didn't stem as much from the loss of progress as it did for the repetitiveness and constant feeling of not being in control of anything most of the time.
It might very well be just a personal skill issue honestly, it's just I don't think I even got to lose a ton of progress at any point and I still got triggered (which isn't usual because foddian games often make me urge to keep trying for a long time, with a good kind of frustration), so I thought it was worth pointing out hów that felt to me.

Other than that, I do think the concept is interesting and the aesthetics and sound fit very well.

Nice! I loved it, had lots of fun despite falling so much :P took me 23 minutes but I definitely feel I could do it in much less now (I even stumbled upon a few potential skips while playing), certified foddian

It doesn't feel exactly on theme, but I like the concept. The dead ends make for some difficulty but it's not all that fun in my opinion though, just forces you to reset and pay more attention to it in the next run. Other than that, the art is pretty cute and that soundtrack is a masterpiece LOL

Rip, and I don't have the right control key in my keyboard either :/

Thank you!
Oh I completely forgot about it :C

Thanks! :)

I'm 18 minutes in and I absolutely DESPISE it. (= Great job!!)
This is a truly foddian experience right here, and although I refuse to use the practice mode, it's definitely a valid way of including some people that aren't very into the genre. Also, the music fit really well. I don't have the time to beat it now but I surely will come back to it later!

real

no way

Oh sorry, I almost forgot!
Here's how that run went:

I actually completely forgot about the dash, but good to know! That'd probably have helped

Great game! I liked the presentation, the puzzles are very smart and fun to complete, and I feel there are so many possibilites for this whole idea - if you ever add even more advanced levels, I could easily see myself raging at that AI for beating me so many times on the same room xD

This genuinely immersed me a LOT more than I thought! I had lots of fun with the many minigames and replayed it multiple times to try and leave cues for the detective to win, the whole game was really funny and well presented from beginning to end (shout out to the honk button xD). My only real complaint would be about the length of the sneaking part, but I think it's already been pointed out by someone else.
Overall, I was very engaged and mostly even forgot this was a jam game while playing. The visuals are great and the soundtrack slaps, by the way!
Amazing work! :D

Seems like there's some issue with delta time somewhere that's making the game unplayable for higher refresh rates; the apple was extremely slow for me and I had to lower my settings to 60Hz in order for it to be possible to score. Other than that, nice concept! The gameplay doesn't seem to get any harder as is but I like the presentation.

Huh, that's odd. It runs fine on my end, framerate of 60+ FPS. Not sure if that's a bug, I'll look into some more optimization if possible though.
Thanks for the feedback!

(1 edit)

OHHH, someone had commented about that strategy previously but I hadn't really tried it yet.
Thanks for the feedback and for the suggestion, I'll definitely look into implementing something like that to encourage movement across the screen and prevent this kind of cheesing.

I like the concept! There seems to be no benefit in going down though, staying on the top feels like the only way to consistently score. I actually somehow got to 200 pretty much without moving as well, I just left my platform idle in the middle at the top just a little to the left and it worked for that long.
Other than that, it was pretty fun!

Great score! Way higher than my current PB. Thanks for playing :)

Nice score! Thanks for playing :)

Thanks for the feedback!
I agree, I did think about spawning some healing items once in a while to encourage moving around in the chaos but didn't get to implement it in time. I'll look into it post-jam though!

This is incredibly addicting! I honestly have no complaints, it's just amazing how well the difficulty is balanced out. My PB is 213 on hard mode, I swear the tension is unreal as every single bar starts to inevitably run out. Great work!

That was fun!
Gameplay-wise it didn't really feel very different from a regular golf game, save from the levels where the ball was moving and the fact sand slowly kills you. It also seems to encourage spamming the mouse button to go as quickly as possible rather than trying to get the lowest amount of strokes, which wasn't obvious at first but is a quite interesting playstyle (or maybe this wasn't intended and it's just what I found easier lol). My personal best is 57.06 seconds.
The art is pretty consistent. I personally found the stroke sound a bit rough, but the gameplay music fits the vibes really well.
Nice game!

Fun little game! Gets hard pretty quickly though, I managed to get 11 by mostly making the dentist confused on which one to follow. It feels like the dentist takes up a majority of the screen and it's hard to dodge it, so I think having the whole game a bit more zoomed out (or just having the dentist be a bit smaller) could maybe improve that. The music is kind of odd though.
Other than that, cool entry!

Quite fun and interesting puzzle! The lack of sound is quite noticeable but the visuals are very nice. A fast forward button would definitely be appreciated, as it's pretty annoying to have to wait in certain points when you're already in your Nth attempt at the same puzzle. Other than that, nice entry!

I can't seem to understand the second level :/ the concept is very simple but sounds interesting though!

That's really creative! The visuals and audio are quite consistent, and I had fun getting chased. The game felt fairly difficult in the start, but I think I just wasn't getting many upgrades in my first runs and definitely didn't get any increased fire rate upgrade for some reason. In the first run that I did finally get that, it was rather OP - I gathered more and more of them and a single burst would kill most enemies, and even when I did lose any coins I'd get a refill as well. This allowed me to go up to around 2500 points, which was when the cursor just randomly decided it had had enough and started to follow me aggressively nonstop, effectively clicking me to death. (don't know if it was actually intended, but in case it's a bug I can send the video of that run if it's any help).
Overall, great game!

I like the idea, what you did get done is pretty nice! The workers look funny and I admittedly chuckled when I got ordered fries with no fries xD
Looking forward to it in case you finish it post-jam!
