Nice game! Couldn't get to the top but I really feel the satisfaction of the difficulty curve, well on theme.
Like Golfing over it but it’s 2D and more static, dunno if that’s a good or bad thing tho
had fun playing it, really tried to finish it but after getting back to the beggining one too many times... ive failed you sorry
Good to hear you had fun playing it! I think we made the map too hard lol, none of us have yet been able to beat it and the leaderboard is still empty. Still, thanks for playing!
i got to the part where its 1 square sand 1 ice 1 sand and so on, how far was i? i also think maybe the wall jump should be made a little bit easier to accomplish... hahaha
That’s one of the last two obstacles! It’s also where most people tend to fail lol. I think we will definitely make the wall jumping a bit easier but we don’t want to erode at the difficulty of the whole game too much.
Nice Foddian. I couldn't finish it but it was fun.
Thanks for playing!
Love everything about this game. At first I wasn't so invested, but when I tried chaining shots It became a whole other experience. I still don't exactly know how it works, but I guess thats just me needing some practice.
Thank you so much! This is 100% the feel we were looking for!
Great music, really fits the game well. The controls feels nice too, the wall jumps are a little hard to understand tho, overall great job!!
Thanks for the nice words! Glad to hear that the controls feel good, that was something we spent a long time working on, I still think we can improve but its good to hear you enjoyed!
This was really fun!
My real only issue was that my ball would clip through the floor at several points, and the bouncy parts would sometimes act irregularly.
How so did the ball clip through the floor? I don't think we've seen that before.
It was in only one specific scenario, if I jumped onto a floating platform on the edge of where a slope was, once or twice it fell straight through the platform. I'm guessing the slope and the straight side of the platform are separate objects and there's a bit of a gap in the collisions?
Were the things you were trying to jump on sand tiles? If so that’s intentional, if not I’m not sure but yeah, it might be due to the different colliders
Oh wait thats intentional??? Haha sorry I had no idea. But if its sand that makes sense.
It didn't happen every time so I was confused.
No problem lol, think we might put a thing on the page that says sand is supposed to make you fall. Thanks for taking an interest anyway!
Cool idea, but I couldn't finish the game because it was uncomfortable to play. To pull off a red shot, I had to move my mouse across the whole screen (from top to bottom).
Yeah that was a problem we noticed too. I think if we work on the game any more we will try and find a solution to that, which might just be tuning down the distance you have to move the mouse lol.
I love this kind of golf gameplay, and this one is well executed, with a bit of a twist with the wall jumps, which are pretty hard to get the hang of, but far too powerful not to use.
It's a great idea to have the clouds change emotion as you climb.
I really like the sound when you hit the ball, which blends in well with the music.
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Played for about 20 minutes like a potato (not doing the wall jump strats on the screenshot), lost all my progress because alas, I'm a potato.
Easy 5 stars gameplay. I think you made a really good level - at least where I could reach there were no cheap tricks, and each time I fell I recovered ground faster because I was making better judgement on my jumps. There is room for some recovery after a wrong jump, and every time I fell into "the well" back to the starting ground, it was because I tried to get back too quickly instead of being smart on my jumps.
My only gameplay nitpick was that I noticed the "full swing" meter (when it becomes red) doesn't mean it's actually the maximum swing possible, because there is room to make a stronger swing if you distance the mouse a bit further. So some swings I was pretty sure it was exact same swing than before (because the swing meter was red), but the ball ended up in a very different place. This may be intended design though to make the game more difficult though (the player doesn't know what the max swing is), but understanding how the mechanic worked was a bit annoying.
Really good game and entry for the jam!
Thank you so much! I think the issue you had with the full swing was a bug, probably to do with how we were calculating the force or something.
i tried to do like to gif but i could'nt , really fun game to play
the sound is amazing, the song also reminds me of a song by chilean group "Los Jaivas" called "Mambo De Machaguay" haha
For all those who wanted to try the game, it is now working!! Thank you for taking an interest and I hope you will consider trying it again
Ayy! It's surprisingly fun bumping up the little platforms. Plus I like all the different art for it lol. Great job!
Thank You!
not working in webpage :(
I am currently trying to get the webpage build working, sorry for not getting this together until now
I would rate it but it's not loading for some reason
I'm currently trying to get it working, really sorry
Sorry I didn't mean to seem rude, that's totally fine, don't feel like you have to rush. Feel free to take your time. Also just FYI but you can't upload new projects to the game jam submissions right now because they locked it for voting :P I had the issue too
Not rude at all! Sorry if that was the impression, its just we are pretty new to this and we were not sure if people would be annoyed that we had not managed to get a web build working. I messaged the host on discord and they allowed me to upload a new web build. Thanks again for taking an interest!
