pretty cool game!

Love how simple this game is and the sound design in it. I took sometime to figure out which was the elevator, and then It struck me why it was a foddian xd.

Also I appreciate that you added a practice mode, really thoughtful

Developer

Oh yeah I should probably make that clearer :P Thank you!

Developer

Just fixed the framerate issue! (I think)

Submitted

I think you nail the difficulty where it feels hard, but the player gets 1% better each time and feel like "okay not this time but I know I can do it", it is a really ny mechanic that feels good.
It would feel better if the character didn't jitter as much, might be worth checking whether or not you're applying force to your character in the physics update loop and not the normal.

Music and sfx also played  really well with how the game felt.

Great submission

Developer

Thank you! And yeah it jitters a lot, I'm not sure what causes it but I'll try to fix it. Thanks again!

I had some framerate issues with this game so it became a bit nauseous after a while. But otherwise fun Foddian, would likely keep playing if at a decent framerate.

Developer

Thank you! And yeah the framerate issue is pretty bad. I'll try to fix that once voting's over!

Developer

Okay I think I fixed the framerate issue (at least for my computer). Feel free to tell me if it's still not working lol

Bro nailed this one, for real. Very foddian, very gameplay heavy and the ice fits momentum idea very well. Congrats :)

Developer

Ay thanks :)

Really cool game! Probably the most unique I've played so far! It was designed well, and I am impressed with how big the level is considering the time constraints. It was also nice to see a top-down game in this jam! Good job!

Developer

Thank you!

As others have said, this is a very well crafted game! Great job! :)
The visuals are especially clever

One small nitpick I have is that because of how your momentum resets when you teleport, the practice mode sorts of clashes with the overall momentum concept of the game?

Developer

Thank you for playing it! And yeah you're right, it does make the momentum partly useless. But why I did it is cuz if I put the spawn point next to a drop, then when I teleported there, I would often fall off & it'd take me a lot of quick resets to actually stay on :P . Plus you can't win in practice mode so eventually the player would have to use the momentum to win. But yeah I see your point. Thank you!

I'm 18 minutes in and I absolutely DESPISE it. (= Great job!!)
This is a truly foddian experience right here, and although I refuse to use the practice mode, it's definitely a valid way of including some people that aren't very into the genre. Also, the music fit really well. I don't have the time to beat it now but I surely will come back to it later!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

This is a nICE game. It's a very difficult game which fits the theme well. Good choice of including the practice mode, I use that to get a little better and see further than I've gotten in the main mode. Also I like possible paths where it can be a shortcut but can be more difficult.

Developer

Thank you for playing! also haha n-ice :)

Cool concept, too hard for me.

Developer

Thank you! I think I'll add an easier mode

Submitted

Great job on this! I love that it's a three dimensional 2D game. You nailed both themes. Great level design with jumps for really skilled players. I wish it was just a little bit easier.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! There is a practice mode to make it easier, but I didn't make that very clear lol. I'll do that once rating is over

Submitted

No I remember noticing it so it's clear, but I totally forgot about it lmao

Submitted(+1)

Too hard for me but great idea! Suggestion tho, would’ve been nice if the jump was a mouse click instead.

Submitted

I'm not the dev, but your comment is funny because I think your game is even harder!

+1 for the mouse click.

Submitted(+1)

…I can’t even finish my own game tho

Submitted(+1)

Lmao, to be honest it took me a good 20 minutes to finish my own. But I can imagine that it might take more to finish yours because it requires you to jump perfectly most of the time. It can be done but it needs sooo much practice.

Submitted

you actually don’t need to jump perfectly, you just need to jump with enough momentum and right timings

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'll add a mouse click jump once the rating is over

Submitted

great mechanics with a good feel,

I liked the way you climb the levels by staying on the same plane, I would say it's maybe a little too zoomed in.

the feeling of speed is well conveyed, great sound design  and i love the fact that you put in an intro.

Developer

Thank you! I think I'll update it to zoom out the camera once the rating is finished

Submitted

It's a pretty interesting concept and it plays quite well! Nicely done!

I loved this! Super cool concept, the controls are fun and difficult, and the visual of being above the other levels is really cool. And the sound effect when you fall down is really satisfying in a weird way xD

Developer

Thank you! And yeah that sound is pretty satisfying for some reason. It's a slowed down footstep btw

Developer (1 edit)

Sorry! Turns out there are a lot of glitches I didn't find. Fixin' em right now though

EDIT: Fixed them! Please tell me if you have more
