  • Great gem and simple loop!
  • Unique take on the bullet hell genre but could benefit from more upgrade variety!

How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
Typically, it's considered player error to be hit by enemy projectiles. In this game, it's considered a feature. We leaned into the chaos with fast-paced gameplay, and transformed a typical gameplay error (being hit by enemies) into a core gameplay loop.

Love the 'goo' scene transition and a lot about the presentation here, including the work spent on a story intro. I was encouraged to play more by how cohesive everything felt. Nice work.

Developer

Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to play!

Best game I played so far in this jam! It was addicting and fun. First time I played and survived for 42 waves, then I started to play again unconsciously.

I’d like to see further development. Although, you guys outshined in every aspects.

Amazing job, very well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the kind words! Really appreciate you taking the time to play and for being so supportive!

That masses the system of being like a taste and throwing yourself, reminded me of the taste of good 10.

Thank you!

Pretty fun little guy. Decently polished and nice to fling yourself around. I think it's sad having to wait so long between upgrades. especially at the beginning. But perhaps I'm now spoiled by the survivors formula where you get to choose powerups every time they appear.

I think like others have said its quite repetitive. I blame lack of variety for that.
I got to wave 50 before just stopping because it felt impossible to lose at that point. But I was bored since like like 25 easily.
Also I think the game is unnecessarily confusing initially. While it's nice to include a tutorial, I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to actually play it, especially in a jam environment when there's so much to play and bouncing off of games is so easy. Like personally I'm not going to read a single thing you write until I'm already invested, so the game needs to stand on it's own imo.
Realistically the friction could've been reduced a lot just by labeling the bars at the top of the screen so I wasn't guessing what they meant and what I was supposed to be doing. Honestly if I had died before figuring it out I probably would've just bounced off of it and moved on, giving it a bit lower of a rating.
Anyway, not trying to be rude but that's my honest feedback of the flow.
Overall it's good stuff, but I hope in the future you guys can keep things interesting for longer or at least keep game times short enough that I don't personally quit instead of losing or beating it etc.

Developer

Thank you for the very detailed feedback! It's interesting, because a lot of this is stuff AtumTheCreator and I had kicked around at some point in time or another. More enemy variety, how to handle onboarding, legibility of the UI, tuning the difficulty, these were all things we talked about in detail, but just never got them solved in what little time we had. We also made a lot of snap decisions in the final hours of the jam that I think may have hurt the flow, to your point. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.  Appreciate you taking the time to play the game, and type all that!

Yeah no problem. And again it was still fun and enjoyable regardless of the issues.
But yeah, I think jam stuff is a learned skill for sure. Figuring out whats crucial to do and what can be omitted etc. Just building up the instinct required to hammer it out without overthinking. Plus it's difficult to get good feedback in jams when anything you say has your game under it and most people I think are afraid to be too critical since they want people to play and rate their game highly which is personally frustrating.
I think we've learned a lot from watching people play our games on streams, we've been burned so many times by people not getting it and only if they'd done some simple thing it would've been fine blah blah blah. But in the end all of that is on you for not forcing them to do that thing through the design and that's always a tough pill to swallow when you feel like your art is an infallible masterpiece. And idk maybe it is even but if someone can't figure out how to play it then, womp womp  lmao😭
Fortunately this year, despite how much work it was otherwise, the concept of an FPS game is pretty universal at this point so we didn't feel like much needed to be put into getting people understand how to play.

Anywayyy I'm just rambling because I'm passionate about this stuff but thanks for being a good sport and I appreciate your time wit it

I think you made the best game in the jam! Artstyle is polished, gameplay is fun and easy to understand, music is memorable, overall a great experience!

Developer

Wow that's very high praise. Thank you so much!

I like how you guys interpreted the theme! extremely polished game, its incredible how much you accomplished in such a short time.

The implementation of movement feels amazing, at first I thought it was going to be too hard to catch all projectiles, but the gravity pull like effect fixed that perfectly!

Overall amazing work!

Developer

Thank you!

Very polished game and super unique game mechanic! I like how your 'error' isn't necessarily something bug related but a different point of view of how games are normally played. The theme, story, visuals, and mechanics all fit together very cohesively for a fun experience. Feels like a fully flushed out game with tutorial, backstory, and lots of great visual and sound effects. I can see a lot of potential with new levels, enemies, and powerups! Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!

Super sweet and polished game! It was an original take to the usual wave-based games, I had a lot of fun playing!

Extremely simple to pick up and proceed, even though money is not a lot at the beginning

That said, congrats on the submission! Everything was perfectly coordinated to create a great experience :)

Appreciate the kind words! Thanks for playing!

This is a well-polished game and I'm surprised that you managed to include a full tutorial. That alone deserves big respect. The control and gameplay gave me a strange sense of familiarity but I can't quite point my finger to it. But they are still enjoyable and it was quite a fun experience nonetheless. I do like to point out some minor issue with the upgrades. Since you need to absorb projectiles to gain ammo for your drones, the fire rate upgrade feel like a trap since it does not improved the ammo-to-damage efficiency like the other two upgrades do. Some balancing might be needed. But overall very impressive. I have no complaints regarding the art and audio side. Great work.

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play and leaving such detailed feedback! Have you ever played Dandara? That was our inspiration for the movement system, and might be what you're picking up on. Agreed that the balancing needs some work. We spent all our time building this thing that we wound up nudging a bunch of numbers last second. Plus I think we were both too focused on wearing our programming and artist hats that we never took time to put on our game designer hat. Thanks again!

The visuals of the game is wonderful. I loved the scene transition effect with the slime, it looks super cool xD. It is very polished for a 3 days jam and theres nothing much to complaint about. The tutorial is very clear, I can get the idea pretty quickly. The sound effects are awesome and the idea is brilliant. I do agree that at first the pace seems a bit slow and might feel a bit of repetitive after a while but hey this is a 3 days jam and this is consider a masterpiece. I'm rooting for you guys so keep up the good work! :D

Good art meets with clever idea. I hope that I was much more skillful for catching those projectiles though :D Well done mate!

Submitted(+1)

Nice art, good idea. I found it less interesting after 3 waves and I cant buy any upgrades also it repeating

Submitted(+2)

Impressive what you both achieved in just three days. The art style and sound design are super polished and juicy, it is incredibly satisfying to jump around and stick to the walls.

I just wish there were some kind of pattern to help anticipate enemy attacks and develop a strategy. Otherwise, I am just jumping around randomly haha!

Overall, it is a very unique game with a cool concept, and it really stands out!

Developer

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words and you taking the time to leave some valuable feedback. I think that's a great point, some kind of anticipation for the enemy attacks is a great idea. Thanks for playing!

Great vibes overall. Running toward bullets in a game is a great concept and it's well executed here.

Thank you!

I loved the artstyle and controlling of the character feels smooth. An indication for enemies who are about to shoot would be nice touch such as glowing eyes sparkling gun barrel, because i found myself jumping from right to left and left to right constantly without knowing who is going to shoot next. The diffuculty stops ramping up after a certain point and i could go forever without any problem, i whis there would be different scenes, police involvement army involvement etc and a boss fight to top them all off but its only my opinion ofcourse, oh and alarm sound is too high and too high pitch. Great game overall and good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Appreciate you playing and leaving such detailed feedback. The enemies do have a 4-5 frame wind up in their animation, but to your point, maybe a flash or visual glow could help make it extra clear and give some additional cushion for the player to position themselves. Totally agree with you about different scenes, maybe a boss fight, etc. All things worth exploring in future iterations.

No, thank you! its the best when a fellow developer can see the value in constructive feedback :) i am definetly going to play any future updates! (not because what i just said, its because the game is really good lol)

Very fun game honestly! Great job for having done this in 3 days. Congrats!

I like the visuals a lot and the visual effects are also really good. The sounds are just nice tbh, not special.

Polished game, no bugs I have encountered so far. However, on the gameplay side, I did find the game started out a bit slow and only got fun after some rounds. I also found out the game has a pretty easy strategy to go infinite tbh, and it became a bit trivial after I figured it out. Otherwise, very enjoyable game overall, great work!

Here's my high score btw. I didn't lose, but I figured there's not much else left so I called it quits.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! Agreed that the game is maybe a bit too slow at the start. We were messing with the balancing up until the last second and didn't have it completely hammered down. Appreciate you playing and leaving some feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Very enjoyable game with a great sound track and very polished game mechanics, but it felt a bit too repetetive at the higher waves after a while,  since only the number and stats of enemies and drones increased. Though it was nice to see a different interpretation of error not as bug.

Developer

Thanks for playing and leaving some feedback! Agreed that the game needs some more love in terms of the balancing. We were on our last leg in the final hours of this jam, and we were bumping some numbers up and down with pretty minimal sleep. If we had an extra, balancing would be a key priority.

Great polished game and cool gameplay, I liked it, awesome work!

Developer

Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to play and leave a comment!

I love that you interpreted Error as the playe error, usually games interpreted it as developer error (Bug).

Cool music, sfx, visuals. Great tutorial and gameplay. I think it probably could've been more simple for the jam version (like without timers and limits), but great overall!

Developer

Thank you! Appreciate you playing and leaving a comment. We struggled a bit with the theme during our first brainstorm, but glad you liked the interpretation!
