Neat platformer! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look

An awesome game unfortunately ruined by some bad design.

nice game! The art and music is great but the way it throws you into things is a bit much. It would be nice to have a simple, non-forced-scrolling level to start with so you can figure out the controls. :)

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that a video of one of my playthrough/reviews is up and you're a part of it!
Take a look here:

Yea saw it and shared it with the team, thanks for the valuable feedback, and for sticking through despite the difficulty with the first area!

Well, I almost stopped playing.  That first level was just, not fun for me.  I didn't like it.  I am really glad I kept going until I got passed it though because the rest was really quite fun.  I dunno, I just liked it after I got to see more.  Maybe just simplify that first level a lot and I'd be fine with it.  Really make it tutorial and it would be excellent =D I would like to see more!

Great work!

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for playing it through! We will definitely try rethink that first section for the future :)

The controls is hard to implement, but it is pretty fun.

Hello !

I think that the game got potential and need some polish but for what i played now it was pretty good.

The gameplay was pretty good and need a little improvement with some music synch.

Overwall  the art and music was great !

Keep going guys you gone something that can be develop !

The idea is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the music, art and game play once I got the hang of it. I'm curious to see what this would become when fully refined.

Getting a hang of the game play took several attempts. The sudden switch from a auto scroll level to a stationary level was jarring without an indicator of some kind.

Developer

Thanks! I'm very open to ideas for indicators. We forced movement to keep timing, but couldn't come up with a good way to differentiate between stationary rooms and scrolling sections.

Great art and use of music! Though I agree, the movement makes it a little hard to grasp - do you move in sync with the beat?

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yea, the idea was that the character is moving to the beat, we plan to smooth it out

Submitted(+2)

The main idea and art is really good but the movement doesn't feel very smooth.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I really like the circle indicators that fit rhythmically with the movement. Nice touch.

Developer

Thanks!

I'm really digging the art and music! The movement feels a bit out of time to me though, it seems like the time it takes the player to move leaves me feeling un-synced with the beat. It would also be nice if you could move backward when facing that direction.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We're tweaking the movement. Can't allow backwards movement in the forced scrolling sections because you have to reach the end at a specific point in the song.

Love the concept, and the spooky Ghosts and Goblins feel. The music is spot on, and the little dude is a great PC! My only complaint was that the random popping up of the enemies in the static scene seems unfair, when one spawns on top of you and insta-kills you. But maybe there's a trick to that bit that I missed?

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We're going to slow down the spawning, there's an animation where they dig up from the ground but maybe we need to highlight it a bit more.
