  • Awesome style, I see that most of the assets were premade, which is not a problem, but I'll focus on the styling here. Styling is awesome, I really like it. You picked out great assets. If it comes to theme implementation, it's awesome! It reminds me on nostalgic old games where you can press only one button each. Honestly, great fun, great implementation, great fun!

How does the game fit into the theme?
You only get to move each direction once

What premade assets did you use if any?
Kenney 1-bit dungeon
Kenney impact sfx

Amazing game. The core gameplay fits the theme perfectly and the learning curve is really good. I found myself having to think to manage to get past some levels. A small fix is that if the player presses R after dying the game resets the level twice.
Congrats on such a great game

Good mechanic, fit perfectly on the game
I just fell he could be better if become like ToM style, But still good
GOOD LUCK WITH THE PROJECT!

Developer

We appreciate your kind words, though I'm curious does ToM stand for tomb of the mask? Or something else, I wanna see how we can improve but the acronym is hard to read. Aside from that im glad you liked our game!

Submitted

YEs, It is Tomb of Mask
will be better as a 8 directions type than platformer

I really like this game, I thought the game idea was executed perfectly and the level designs are spot on!

Developer

thank you very much for the kind feedback!

This game was great fun! What really made this game great is the sheer amount of levels and content, I also like the difficulty curve, as it does get quite hard, but it has an excellent learning curve.

One problem I had was when I died I instinctively pressed R to reset, but it reset me twice then, and often I had started moving after the first reset, so I had to reset a third time.

Especially in this game jam setting, a game like this is great! Good job.

Developer

yeah thats an issue ive noticed now with a lot of people, i'll address the resetting thing post jam.

very cool game, really enjoyed the artstyle and the games concept. once you get the hang of it, its really fun to play. Very nice!

Submitted(+2)

easily an amazing game! nice polish! it was very difficult at first but got to the hang of it eventually!

amazing work overall!!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked it!!! Honestly it took forever but so far it seems everyone is loving the puzzles. We might add a leaderboard system soon so run the game again tmrw so you can get your score in. (Assuming I get to it today)

Submitted

oooooo I'll def replay it then! and yeah be proud! you did amazing, I can tell so much love and work went into it ^^

Developer(+1)

Adding to this here: The leaderboards wont be able to be put in until the hosts open up submissions again, which may be ~2 weeks once they finish voting.

Amazing vibe, great combination of visuals and music. The game's also really fun, ran into some small bugs with the movement but nothing to ruin the fun. Glad to see someone else went with the CRT shader haha. Keep up the good work!

Submitted(+2)

Absolutely amazing game! Although not my genre, I can tell you've put a lot of work and creativity into it! I'm especially impressed by your interpretation of the theme :D The only thing I have to say is that the precision of it does make it frustrating, but perhaps that's the genre and my own skill issue :') Nevertheless, great game!

P.s. From a beginner gamedev, I'd love to know how you did the graphics/visual effect of the fisheye or the level transition or the arcade feel! If you ever write a devlog about this, I'd make sure to read it :]

Developer

Thank you for the kind feedback, and yeah the game was designed to be precise but i do think i over did it just a bit.

The CRT effect and transition effect was completed through shaders, I found the shaders for godot on godotshaders.com!

this is really good !!

compelling idea, i thought it was confusing understanding how the movements work. But i even found some shortcuts to some levels which was cool to discover. I like the polish.

Developer

Honestly, it was hard to describe it so we just made a ton of tutorial levels early on. As for the shortcuts, I"M SO HAPPY THEY ARE BEING DISCOVERED!!!! we were planning to add a leaderboard (in the works) so to see actual speedrun-sec time saves is amazing!!!

Submitted(+2)

Very Hard, but very fun, great artstyle, puzzles and implementation of the theme!

Developer

Thanks!! It took so long to figure out the perfect balance, Adam had to actually help tone down some of my later level designs cause they were obnoxious. I'm so happy you enjoyed our game!!!

Extremely fun game. Great difficulty on the puzzles, not too easy, but not frustrating. The art and sound is nice. Probably the perfect length

Developer(+1)

I'm honestly so glad the play exp was good. It took forever for us to make each level feel just right.

Submitted(+2)

Awesome idea. Definitely some legs here for a really fun puzzle  game. Couple levels were a bit confusing to me (I think one of the levels the player prefab spawns in a bit high and I lose the down direction right away). But a really creative, interesting, and ultimately well-designed game, especially for only 72 hours! Excited to see where this goes should you pursue it further.

Developer

Thank you! Some levels i spawned the player in the air on purpose so they are forced to learn the mechanics. I will say puzzle design is not my strong suit though haha

Great presentation of a clever idea!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I just saw your game get reviewed on stream and i think you did a good job too.

(+1)

Yo aksom i gotta play your game!

Submitted(+2)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa omg you’re the Hero of Zura guy!!!! Ya dude, give it a look!

(+1)

I played it! Cool idea, this could definitely be a full game with extra powerups and stuff.

Submitted(+2)

It's a bit inconvenient that when moving to another level the player can't release the pressed movement key. Visually it looks nice, the music suits the style of the game.

Developer

yeah its something i noticed before the jam ended but i didn't have time to fix it. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Nice idea for the theme and works pretty well!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Good work with the sound, everything really seems to fit it's place.

Developer

Thanks a lot! A lot of the general sfx were self made but the music was from free packs.

Submitted(+3)

Awesome concept, really liked the puzzles, I feel like its not super intuitive how jumping affects being able to fall, but I really enjoyed it, very cool art too! Great job

Developer

A lot of people do get tripped up on the falling part, i tried forcing the player to learn it on the second level, but it may not have been super clear.

Submitted(+3)

Nice job! I had a similar idea when brainstorming and was hoping to see someone do it.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Hoping to see if anyone else did the same idea
