How does the game fit into the theme?
The game is about a reaper who must decide whose soul he will take. He can only take one, even if he decides that several of these people should leave the world.

I love these types of story games! Makes you connect/adore the characters more! I initally chose the old man (and was, of course, very struck when the twist was revealed π). I love the sort of detective work you have to do in order to choose which soul has to go, and the little contradictory hints (like the girl with the animals being healthy/injured folders at different times, or the mafia boss with the happy children).
I do wish to see more of the characters though! Like if you take a soul, perhaps you can see the consequences of it (ex: old man dies, then you get a little dialogue about the daughter and grandchildren visiting, and dialogues of where the other untaken souls are now/what more harm or good things they have caused), just to see the extent of your actions yk. Some characters I feel were portrayed a bit too ethically or black/white (ex: the mafia boss's death consequence only shows he won't be able to donate to the orphanage anymore; what about the crimes he's caused? Will they be stopped as well? That duality I think can make the experience more interesting!)
Otherwise, great game! Really love the stories, characters, and twists! My favorite character was the old guy lol
What a great review you wrote! Thank you very much for such attention to our game! Initially, we planned to make "consequences", but we rejected the idea due to lack of time. We decided to devote more time to finding bugs, polishing. Regarding the mafia leader, I wanted to show that not all "criminals" actually commit "terrible" crimes. I mean, killing murderers is a positive thing in a way. It's not truly "good", because it's still murder and a crime, but it can save a lot of lives, so it's one of the possible "ways". Being a "good villain" is very hard, it's a big burden.
Damn Bro, its deep. Very polished game considering the time you had. Love It!
I love story-based games! Would've been nice to have faster text speed, or a way to skip the typewriter animation though... but overall still great!
The interpretation of the theme is definitely very unique, i liked the stories and the music!
Really nice concept! Love the different storys and all. Wish though that the text would appear a little bit faster, but thats just personal preference.
Not my style of game, but good entry nonetheless! The music and SFX add much to the tension, I could feel the reaping. More variety in clues and their locations (like a lost letter in the lobby, listening a patient ramble about another patient, etc.) would have been cool to make the decision harder to come by.
Thank you very much! I spent many hours searching for suitable sounds and music, so it is very nice to hear that someone liked it. We would have loved to make the game more diverse, but we did not have suitable assets for level design, clues, and we had to make them ourselves, so we proceeded from our capabilities and the remaining time. Initially, the game was supposed to have short monologues of the characters, something like "talking to yourself", but it had to be cut out, there was no time. Also, glad you enjoyed reaping soul scene. I tried to make it breathtaking.
good job!I like the killing effect, but I hope the conversation can be skipped
Nah man, why did I say to myself "lets do the old man first". Thanks for that π
Really good concept! Wish there were more clues to interact with that would give the stories more nuance. There was definitely a right and a wrong choice of who to reap...
