thank you so much! The game was really fun to develop and discover different ideas with the light mechanics. I’m sure there is much more I could do with it and I plan on expanding it some more in the future!

thanks for such a lovely comment! I have noticed the last room’s bug and some puzzles would need reworking. But I do plan on expanding the game, giving it a more thorough story! :D

thank you! I really wanted to nail the ambience as I think it was crucial to giving the game an identity. I will probably work on expanding it into a larger game!

I would love to get as much feedback as possible as this is my first ever game jam! Will of course rate your game back! :D

Behind the Light by Atremic

thanks for the kind words and best of luck to you too! 😁

I love the concept, it has great potential for a full game. I would like to add that maybe it needs some very subtle visual indicator of the monsters when the light is not shining on them (like a water ripple) as now I just circle around the boat really fast and hope I see the monster. The art is beautifully made and I love the limited palette!

One of the puzzles is really... not obvious and confusing. I'm glad you enjoyed it and understood the connection to the theme :D

Thank you! The lighting did take time to nail correctly but it was worth it. It'd make me happy if you returned to try and finish the game!

Thank you! I'm pretty proud of how it turned out :D

I will probably keep developing this game even after the jam, because I am convinced that there is so much more to explore. Thank you for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Thank you for the kind words!
Since the feedback to the game is good, I will probably spend more time on it and expand it into a full game with an even deeper story!

thanks for the nice comment! I noticed the walls but got busy fixing other bugs and completely forgot about them 😭 the shape was supposed to be the brain but it kinda turned out like a blob 😅 im glad you enjoyed the game!

Thanks for the kind words! As i wrote on your comment under the game, the message behind the game was supposed to be accepting that sometimes even darkness can help us see light and live the one life we have. But it is slightly obscured behind quotes, that is true.

Thank you again for playing the game!

Thank you! It was very fun creating the game and its content. A devlog was certainly in mind and it might finally happen. Thanks for playing!

Thank you for playing the game, glad you enjoyed it!

This game is polished to what I would deem near perfection. And uploaded 18 hours before the deadline? Good job!

I've gotten that feedback while developing also but it was too late to change the mechanic. Thank you for your kind comment!

Hi! Thank you for your kind comment! Yes, that is also the feedback I got while developing but it was too late to make a change (won't write the answer yet, for spoilers) :D Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!

Nah man, why did I say to myself "lets do the old man first". Thanks for that 😭

Very cool concept but the map i did not understand at all :D I couldn't get the map up while driving either. Other than that, great and fun game

The game shouldn't start before I choose the spell... The in-browser window also cut away parts of the screen. Its a shame, because I can see this game's potential but I can't fully experience it.

Slowly uncovering the story made the game interesting. The choice of the message and its response in the end gave a feeling of "it mattered". <3

Interesting theme interpretation! I would have loved to have some sort of health bar as I died to a zombie in one hit which made the game less fun.

Good visuals, fun gameplay and platforming. Only things I would change is the random(?) movement of the boss made him too unpredictable for speedrunning and the controls weren't snappy enough for a platformer.

A fun game you have here nonetheless :D <3

On most other games I've rated,  I left a pretty detailed comment. For you, only one and excuse the language:

I fu***ng LOVE GORB. That's it. That's all. I want more!

I would love to know how the game ends, but the choice of Z for jump just made it too difficult for me to jump. And being a platformer, that's kind of important.

I did love the graphics and the sound design!

Honestly, that was very VERY fun to experience. Extremely simple concept that created a pretty fun level to play through. I only wish there was mooooreeee! :D

The only obvious comment I have is that I would love if you could have put more time into the art. Having a character that fits into the "space archer" theme and a level with more than just blocks would have put this game at 5/5. Congrats!

If this game had some sound design and a bit more of a cohesive visual design I would have given it a 5/5 rating.

The mechanic was super fun and well implemented. I think you have a hidden gem here you should continue developing!

Cool game for when your brain needs to wake up hahah Absolutely loved the music!

I did manage to crash the game or maybe there is no end screen, as I walked down to the water the entire screen went black. Other than that, good job! :D

The art and the story are simple but great!

Only thing I found lacking was the gameplay. The timer to click a choice is behind the text and hard to see, and too short to fully comprehend what we're clicking before its already out. On the second playthrough however I could get to the end. :D

Its a fun game concept and I suggest you keep exploring it even after the jam!

Only comment I have is the difficulty in the beginning; if you don't immediately understand what is going on, you will get overrun before you can get your first upgrade.

Thank you so much for your kind comment! :3
