How does the game fit into the theme?
Your trusty boomerang is all you get to help you traverse the perilous desert. Ricochet your boomerang off various platforms, and use it to smash walls and clear your way. Be careful though. It's your only boomerang, and losing it could mean life or death.

Loved the art direction, from the fade out effect with the lines to the great use of the color pallet, it looks great!
Good graphics and good music always good together :)
Love the graphics and music, it made for a great ambiance! The boomerang mechanic was fun but I think being able to use it multiple times as long as you catch it makes the idea of only having one recall a bit obsolete. Personally I loved trying to break as many blocks as possible in one throw lol. All in all, great game!
The vibes go hard on this one, great style and animations. Love it! The boomerang mechanic is really, really fun, but for the future it could definitely use some spicing up. Either way, really great game, definitely one of the top entries! Great job!
Thanks for playing! I agree with you. I think a bit more exploration of how the boomerang could be used would really help make it feel more complete. Thanks for the kind words and thoughtful feedback!
This was good fun! I was actually waiting for a breakout inspired level at the very end, I think half of the fun was getting through the levels for me, half of it was trying to get as many walls down as possible with a single shot. :D
As others noted, it needs more mechanics to make it more puzzly, but the core is already fun!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Definitely agree the mechanics don't feel fully explored just yet. Definitely left a bit on the table. Appreciate you taking the time to play.
The graphics and animations are wonderful, especially for a solo submission on such a short jam! I did find the text a bit hard to read against the background though. I also noticed that levels reloaded before the screen went completely back.
I do feel like there could have been more on the gameplay side of things. As others have said, there wasn't as much strategy as there was "throw the boomerang really hard until all the walls break". I never felt the need to recall the boomerang as it would always eventually bounce back to me.
Excellent work!
Thank you! I feel that, I think I left a bit on the table in terms of using this mechanic to its full potential. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Love love the mechanics and the vibes, especially how you incorporated the weapon (boomerang) into the aesthetics (Persian-esc)! I'm a sucker for those types of things yk :))
Other than that, I'd have to agree with xR3s1sT that the could've been some platforms that shouldn't be destroyed to make the puzzles a bit more challenging. Still, I'm very interested in this game's development! Hope you can expand more; with a story, mayhaps? ๐๐๐ Good luck on the jam!! <3
Thank you! Agree with you 100%. A bit more rigor in the design process to help make some of the puzzles more clever and challenging would've been smart. Appreciate you taking the time to play this.
Great game! The game looks and feels really nice and polished.
For criticism: I did feel that I started off the level destroying most things, and then jumping to the end, I like the levels where you had to only destroy parts of the blocks, but I personally feel there could have been some more puzzle like levels where you have to throw the boomerang precise or think about the order with which you have to destroy the blocks.
But Great game, it really was satisfying!
Whole-heartedly agree. I don't think I had the mechanics fully figured out if I'm being 100% honest. I couldn't really decide where to go with it and wound up with a bunch of half-baked puzzles. Thanks for playing though! Appreciate your feedback.
Fun game! Loved the vibe and mechanics. I hit the same glitch Deacrow mentioned but it was enough to get a feel of the game and enjoy it, keep up the great work!
Thank you! Sorry to hear you also hit the glitch, but glad you got to play a bit. Appreciate the feedback!
Fun game! Using a boomerang is a very interesting idea. I found that you didn't really need to catch the boomerang since you could just wait for it to ricochet off the walls. Maybe a few more levels or a limited number of bounces could help expand on the mechanic?
Ya I like that. Maybe the boomerang weakens with each bounce and eventually breaks or shatters. Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked playing.
Very good game, loved everything about it!
Thank you for the kind words!
Solid entry, good visuals and good music (although its short enough where it repeats a lot). I do wish you went harder on your interpretation of the theme since you can play the entire game without using your recall.
Ya fair point. The idea to add a recall came about in the last hour or so before I submitted. It was kind of a snap decision that I maybe should've thought through a bit more. Just wanted to make the game a touch easier, but to your point, I maybe cluttered the theme. Thanks for playing!
Really gives off an adventurous vibe! The core mechanic is great, and I loved the art is too.
If I had to nitpick, the controller could use a bit more polish, maybe better air control and a coyote jump would already improved it a lot I feel. But overall the experience was excellent! Good job on such a short time
Also, +1 to rbens feedback.
Thanks for the feedback! Ya, the platforming mechanics could be tightened for sure. I just went with a basic Rigidbody but I would've preferred to handle gravity and velocity manually if I had more time. Thanks for playing!
The interpretation of the theme is very good. I had the same bug as another commenter where I had to refresh the game in order to get to the next level. The art style is nice but I found the font quite hard to read. Great game overall though.
Thanks for playing! Sounds like this glitch is a recurring issue, sorry about that. Hopefully you got a bit of a taste of what the game is about.
Really nice game! Like the art style and the concept with the boomerang, plays pretty well! Although in one level I just could not continue, when going to the right it would not load the next level like in the previous ones, not sure if that is a bug or if that was the last level. Also like the transisition effect between the levels.
Thank you for the kind words. There's an end-game screen so it sounds like you hit a glitch. Sorry about that! Hopefully you were able to play enough to get a bit of a taster.
Ah thats sad then, how many levels are there in total? Maybe I'll retry it then and hope it does not glitch again.
10 total levels, you'll know your at the last level because you'll see a big monolith structure, and then when you run to the monolith, you'll be taken to a "Thank you" screen. I just replayed it myself to see if I could recreate the glitch, but I was able to make it to the end. Someone else commented about the glitch too, so it's definitely an issue. Sometimes Web Builds are weird, though. Not sure exactly why.
Ah I just tried it again and this time it worked! Was literally the last stage before the monolith yes.
So weird, glad to hear it worked this time and happy to hear you made it to the end!
