Thanks! Glad you had some fun and liked the premise :)

Appreciate the comment even after the public voting period is over <3

Thanks for playing and commenting :). One of the devs little brother actually prefers the html version over the exe (I still think its too fast but too each their own).
We were defininetely going for a fast paced slightly messy experience.

Appreciate the kind words!

I was pleasently suprised after seeing only 4 ratings, this game was very fun! The visuals are of course a bit choppy and if each frame would have been a fluid transition from 1 second to the next, that would have added a lot of "juice", but once you understand the premise it makes sense, and you look past it. I didnt quite manage to beat it, as I was just procrastiating uni work, trying this game out, but Its a great challenge. You really have to think about each action and carefully plan your route!

Maybe level base approach to slowly ease the player in and then get some kind of reward while playing would have also been nice, but I know time was short, just wanted to throw the idea out there.

Great job on this game, I think more people should give it a go!

Wow, that is very high praise, thank you very much and we are super glad you enjoyed it so much!

We are now thinking about porting it to mobile as a phone also just has one button, the screen. This would then (hopefully) result in a geometry dash kind of game.

Anyways, thanks again for playing, cheers <3

Thank you, pulling them off takes some practice, cool you have managed it!

Thank you! One night we ate pizza and actually discussed weather to also allow space bar, but the humor of having such an out of place button as the only way to control it was just too good for us. We had the vision of the main menu where it would just drop you into the cold water where it says the theme and nothing else (that you now see in the game). After this jam is over and we arent focused on "only getting 1" we will tackle this issue for sure!

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

Thank so much!

This is a hard game for sure and the movement is definetly a mystery in the beginning. Figuring all that out does take time and we tailored the dificulty curve so that even the best of players will surely face a challenge at some point during this game.

Glad you liked the premise and appreciate the feedback!

We are glad you enjoyed it!

After seeing more people play this game completely blind in person, it really is interesting to see the reaction to the controls. For some it just "clicks" and the start zooming through levels while others get cant shake the feeling of wanting to press down for each action instead of letting it go sometimes. It was intended to be a hard game, and some enjoy the rush while others get frustrated by the challenge. The movement can be completly mastered though, us devs have manged to beat the whole game in under 100 presses. We will definitely flesh out the camera some more for sure! Thanks for playing and the feedback :)

i thought about your game sone more today, i think manual madness would be a cool name maybe, just wanted to share :)

First of all: Next time select single runtime executable in game maker when creating the application, when choosing where to save it, so you dont have to install the game, this probably discouraged many players. As not many have play this I will write a really extensive review as this game does a lot of things right but can also be improved. So I'll start off with the honest criticism:

So first: Shift activates sticky keys, had to disable that from the get-go, and also it wasn't super optimized on my laptop, but that is fine just heads up to be careful,

You restart all the way from the beginning, which is fine. I get it, its one minute, but the early section in the second level especially was not such a fun part, and when I died from the plants in the middle section of level 2, I had to redo the first part. It would be better to place each element with a purpose and not just as a long way to the actual beginning of the level, which in level 2 is where you fall in front of the rocket for me. maybe one more trap would have added so much to the level design.

Why don't you die when you fall off the map? You lose time if you do and I didn't want to sink in time if I'm not going to make it anyway, so If I fell off in the first level I would often just jump into the blade, so I cane restart with a fresh timer.

Space looked super-duper nice, I have to give it to you, really, but why in the world is that scene sooo damn long? I thought I had reached the end and almost quit the game, This was interesting as I wasnt expecting a second level when I hit the lever in the first one but was totally expecting a third.  A couple of seconds more and I would have quit the game before level 3.

Now, to the good parts: The Music was excellent, and the sounds were also on point hats off! The art was also really, really great and made this game feel great. The fact you could ONLY dash was also a fun mechanic, and I did complete this game and did have fun! It was not too easy and not to0 hard I would say. As I said before, the level 2 feel a little longer than they should be, but still it was truly a fun experience and this game was a lot better than a lot of other games I have played in this game jam.

I hope I didn't sound too harsh in my critique, I really did enjoy it.

Great job guys and good luck with all future endeavours :) !!!

WOW, so creative. I love the premise so much!

The game was also great fun to play, so surprised it only has 4 ratings.

I wish you actually heard the shifting in the audio, maybe you could have just used a low engine sound and the shifted the pitch with a simulated rev counter and not speed. Then maybe you could also hear the rev limiter when you reach top speed for one gear. Also sometimes I "lost" the wheel with my mouse and it turned back to straight, maybe that could be fixed so it doesnt turn back if you click down left mouse.

This game in like a racing setting would be soo cool, and it has a lot of potential.

Hats off, this game was very refreshing and cool!!

This game was great fun! What really made this game great is the sheer amount of levels and content, I also like the difficulty curve, as it does get quite hard, but it has an excellent learning curve.

One problem I had was when I died I instinctively pressed R to reset, but it reset me twice then, and often I had started moving after the first reset, so I had to reset a third time.

Especially in this game jam setting, a game like this is great! Good job.

Cool little game, I liked the fact that it was basically two games in 1!

The grandpa bird feeding could have been a lot harder in my opinion, that would have made it a lot more fun.

The story was cool and I like the you only get one idea.

Right after righting this review I gave level 3 a couple more tries and actaully managed to complete it :). I did complete the rest of the game after that. I didnt quite agree with the design choice to have the robot go off screen as part of the game on the glass level, but thats just me (it just felt a little odd). Was a fun game though, I enjoyed it.

I spent ages trying to figure out level 3, I thought I was just not getting something, until I saw the explanation in the description. I really tried hard to understand it, but the arrows dont make much sense to me. Other than that, this game is good. It has nice potentials with the puzzle especially when you also factor in the recharge station.

I must say that robot did move kind of slow, I know this was intended but to me the game would have benefited from a slight tweak to the speed, I feel even for a slow robot it was just a tad too slow for my personal taste. Also my instinct was to dash downwards to the portal at each level, but I kept failing even though I went right into the portal and had to restart level 1 and 2, not sure what is going on there. I really wish there would be more to critique, and I would have gladly played some more levels when I was at it.

I first thought this can't possibly be a challenge, but some levels actually made me think for a bit. great concept and the one bullet really fits in the game!

Neat game. I can really see this developing into something. The graphics are on point and the controller feels good. I think zooming out could help prevent random deaths by sharks. There is not too much to do yet. Maybe you could hunt for treasure or something. That could add an element of planning your route to get as much as possible and get back up before the air runs out.

Well done! I see the vision. Good concept and nice art. Just add some more levels and maybe an enemy type that actively attacks and you got a game. Right now you can jump over almost all the enemies without them attacking. Also, some simple background music goes a long way.

First, I LOVE the aesthetic and vibe. The gameplay was really fun!

As some have said maybe pausing in the tutorials would be helpful, I did understand everything pretty fast until the jetpack, I thought I was doing something wrong, but I just had to double jump to make it.  Also (and this is just a minor thing, just wanted to point out) the bars overfill on death, if not intended this could be fixed easily, just has to be kept in mind when making bars in the future.

The game was amazing, and I loved the fast-paced action of it. It's definitely not easy but as you play you learn it quite quickly, the tutorial does prepare you for the game well. I personally prefer the more open level design sections where I can gain a lot of speed over the enclosed spaces, but that could just be a personal opinion. Truly an amazing game with soo much talent behind it. Hats off and congratz on this wonderful entry :)

I really like the idea of only having one arrow and really timing the right shot and lining up multiple orcs. The art looks really polished too. It is really frustrating to have to get past the orcs with no means of defense and especially if I acutally have hit an orc, it feels like I'm punished for upgrading the penetration because my arrow is further away now. Maybe when you hit the shot, you get it back immediatly or it respawns closer to you. Wall bounce also makes the arrow land very far away and when you hit the boss, he just sits on the arrow and it's hard to get ihm off it. Maybe if the moveset would give more opportunities to dodge the orcs it could make retrieving the arrow more fun without taking away the difficulty. or maybe if the orcs don't perfectly mirror your movments you could feint them.

great concept for a game. You have to balance moving closer to attack and getting out again in time. The game art and music is also really good. The attack patterns weren't quite clear to me and when I clicked on a knight multiple times, it would show different patterns. If the smoke attack would have a larger radius, it would feel a bit more satisfying. my mouse cursor kept drifting to the right and quite far into a game it completely got stuck, but these are minor bugs to figure out. Great job!

I like the art style and the casting of shadows by the player. I am not sure whether there is an objective yet, at least I found no goal to get to. Could become a cool game tho.

Really polished game and art. At the moment, there is nothing discouraging you from playing very slowly, which makes saving battery quite easy. Maybe adding gravity could force you to use battery more deliberately. And I don't think crashing into the asteroids actually kills you.

Great Job on this game!

I liked the charge jump mechanic. The grapple was a bit frustrating to use. I think the game would benefit a lot from a wider field of view. Anyway, good job!

The art is absolutely beautiful! This is a fun little cozy game and it feels wonderful.

Some criticism: First I don't understand why the world is so large, using up the first island already takes ages to plant and harvest, so why go over to other islands also because you can instantly replant on the harvested spots if you want to go that route, but this didn't take away from the game, I was just curious why you would use the very far away islands.
Also, having a "buy all" button next to each flower in the shop could be great, I spend ages in the shop clicking which may be by design, but the planting/harvesting is already the thing that slows you down so having that buying time on top could be improved upon. I can also see a situation where you then press buy all and then get in over your head with the amount of flower you now have to plant, which could be a good thing and maybe force you to use more space maybe, just an idea.

But great job on this game, I really, really liked it :)

First: I LOVE the title! It sticks in your mind.

I really appreciate the simplicity of the graphics, and how polished the whole game feels.

It plays beautifully and is perfect for a short session, brings me back to my childhood playing random flash-games!

Wonderful Job!

yeah, the game rate is frame rate independent (unless of course you are playing on a legit potato and get super low frame rate of course, then the game slows down for obvious reasons)

Depending on device the browser version can go from same as exe to waay harder than the exe. I added the rules to the description of the game in case you are curious what the rules are.
But thank you so much for taking the time to answer, will think about more visual cues <3

thank you so much for playing :)

Thank you so much :). In case you are curious what exactly the rules are, I added the exact rules for which event triggers at which point in the description under movement tips. (It was our intention though to have the player solve this mystery for him-/herself)

Very interesting concept! The game is quite challenging in a good way. Really impressed with this entry.

Great game! The game looks and feels really nice and polished.

For criticism: I did feel that I started off the level destroying most things, and then jumping to the end, I like the levels where you had to only destroy parts of the blocks, but I personally feel there could have been some more puzzle like levels where you have to throw the boomerang precise or think about the order with which you have to destroy the blocks.

But Great game, it really was satisfying!

Thanks so much for playing and the kind words <3

I was wondering what you mean by more refinement, do you have any ideas on anything to change? We are considering working on the game some more and if you have any ideas I would love to hear them. Also, what do you mean by "wrong move" do you feel the game isn't consistent or do you mean if the player messes up a movement?

Yeah, you are right, we thought the easy levels force you to learn the movement but it doesnt work as well as we hoped. As the levels get harder it does become really hard to uncover and remember the movement patterns, will add a help in the description of the game for future players.

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Love the take on the theme, very creative! Also I appreciate the implementation of scroll wheel and jab and parry and all that. To me this game falls flat a little bit by the fact that you dont really need to use or master them. you can just left click and win. So the AI would need to be way harder or maybe like different levels where it gets harder. But I see the vision and really like it.

I know making a game in 3D is way more work than 2D, and I really appreciate this game, its just missing that addicting fun aspect, that could maybe rise from a harder enemy hand.

Still enjoyable an game, Great work!

WOW, great game, seriosly impressed! Great take on the theme and the gameplay is very fun.

The two criticism points I have is,

1: It would be nice to see how many levels there are mid game or which one you are on like "level x/n" in the corner or something.

2: Tha background music gets a little repetitive, I know this is hard to make a longer song and for my game we used premade music which is not as good as making it yourself, but the sound did get a little repetitive. This is just nit picking of course because the rest of the game is so great!

The game itsself is great fun and then the fact that you can also go for a highscore if you like is a cherry on top! the graphics are really neat and fit great.

Great Job!

okay so I went on my big PC, was on my laptop before. Maybe it was the antivirus? idk.
So about your game: I think the concept is really interesting, I also love the theme and the asthetic and setting. The paper like sprites look really good.

Some feedback on the game itself: First the intro not being skipable is really annoying, I had to wait over and over when I died. Also the walking speed is really slow. I understand the horror mechanic of it but it took so long to go from one place to another and having to juggle the lightsource and the car item only adds up. And lastly when the guy was shooting at me I started running into the darkness to hide, but still died. Sometimes I didnt really know what I did wrong when I died and it felt like I was just unlucky and ran into him.
Still Cool idea and also the gameplay itself is cool, its just very slow and annoying to fail. This gives it less a trial and error vibe and it looked like I made some obvouis mistake.
Good Work though!

I like the idea, and trying to go as fast as possible around the many corners is quite fun. I do think some obstacles could add a lot of depth, like maybe spider webs which slow you down or block that drop you or something like that. That way, the world could feel more alive and thus make replaying more fun.  The last levels are quite large, and making them more challenging instead of just larger could be a good way to go. Anyway, just some ideas and feedback for the future.

Great work!

Thanks for trying! The speed issue is really weird, different machines have different speeds on the browser (no idea what that is caused by). Would love to know what you think of it without the speed issues :)

The gameplay itself is quite a fun game! Its easy to understand and get into. I do think the one shot theme is not expanded upon too much, as you shoot as soon as the game starts, so for the whole game loop its a bouncing ball and not "one shot". Good job on the game!
