GREAT GAME! You're very creativy in my view.
Thanks! Glad you had some fun and liked the premise :)
Appreciate the comment even after the public voting period is over <3
Haha it's great on high speed, very chaotic and has a good flow to it! I have a bit of a short fuse for games like this but I could imagine people getting hooked on it. I like that even if you veer of path a bit you can often still somehow find your way back, I also like that it's quite confusing what the character will do next but it works out anyway :D
Thanks for playing and commenting :). One of the devs little brother actually prefers the html version over the exe (I still think its too fast but too each their own).
We were defininetely going for a fast paced slightly messy experience.
Appreciate the kind words!
The only imperfect things in this game are the varying speed (although I know it's a known issue) and maybe the pixel snapping when the camera moves or zooms in/out.
The rest is pure fun and skill, best one I played so far. The theme interpretation is so literal, I love it.
Perfect.
Wow, that is very high praise, thank you very much and we are super glad you enjoyed it so much!
We are now thinking about porting it to mobile as a phone also just has one button, the screen. This would then (hopefully) result in a geometry dash kind of game.
Anyways, thanks again for playing, cheers <3
The combos are really nice! Good job!
Thank you, pulling them off takes some practice, cool you have managed it!
Dont worry, the HTML still good, and the game also!
I liked how u used the theme, I know its to use just one button, but pls in the future let the space be this buttons instead of 1
Thank you! One night we ate pizza and actually discussed weather to also allow space bar, but the humor of having such an out of place button as the only way to control it was just too good for us. We had the vision of the main menu where it would just drop you into the cold water where it says the theme and nothing else (that you now see in the game). After this jam is over and we arent focused on "only getting 1" we will tackle this issue for sure!
Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!
Gotcha! I ll save for play after the jam
Good Luck
Great take on the theme! You managed to fit an impressive variety of movements into one button!
I did struggle to get all the movement sequences down, as others have mentioned, but I can't imagine that that can be helped much when only using one button.
Good work!
Thank so much!
This is a hard game for sure and the movement is definetly a mystery in the beginning. Figuring all that out does take time and we tailored the dificulty curve so that even the best of players will surely face a challenge at some point during this game.
Glad you liked the premise and appreciate the feedback!
Amazing game!
We are glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome theme interpretation! While very fun, unfortunately the implementation and the camera made it very unintuitive to control, otherwise a very good entry.
After seeing more people play this game completely blind in person, it really is interesting to see the reaction to the controls. For some it just "clicks" and the start zooming through levels while others get cant shake the feeling of wanting to press down for each action instead of letting it go sometimes. It was intended to be a hard game, and some enjoy the rush while others get frustrated by the challenge. The movement can be completly mastered though, us devs have manged to beat the whole game in under 100 presses. We will definitely flesh out the camera some more for sure! Thanks for playing and the feedback :)
What a crazy concept! I couldn’t get my head around the rules, but instead kind of trial-and-errored through it. Wild fun!
Thank you so much :). In case you are curious what exactly the rules are, I added the exact rules for which event triggers at which point in the description under movement tips. (It was our intention though to have the player solve this mystery for him-/herself)
Concealing the rules, and also exposing them for those that ask, are both excellent plays. Thank you!
Amazing game!!
Crazy cool how you managed to map pretty much every platformer mechanic to the same key!
Whoa, this is actually really cool. I love having a whole bunch of different moves all mapped to the same button that change based on your conditions. It was a little hard to get the hang of, and could be a bit frustrating if the wrong move fired, but it was really a fun experience. The animations were all tight and snappy too, and I felt like there was good variety in the puzzles. This idea definitely has some legs and could be built upon with a bit more refinement. Nicely done!
Thanks so much for playing and the kind words <3
I was wondering what you mean by more refinement, do you have any ideas on anything to change? We are considering working on the game some more and if you have any ideas I would love to hear them. Also, what do you mean by "wrong move" do you feel the game isn't consistent or do you mean if the player messes up a movement?
Ya exactly, so I'm willing to admit that this may be a skill issue, but I had a hard time differentiating when I would jump or when I would dash. Sometimes my player would jump after running and sometimes they would dash. I think it's based on the speed? An indicator saying "Hey, you're going fast enough to dash if you release the 1 key right now" would be helpful. Also, sometimes when falling I would deploy the kite and sometimes I would just kind of fall? Sometimes I would dash out of the fall as well? Again, maybe this is a skill issue and I just suck, but I think any type of visual indicator to help show the player what will happen when they hit the key again is going to be super helpful. Granted, I played in browser, so maybe the slower speed on a download would also make it easier to comprehend the action happening. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but you have all the physics framerate-independent, right?
yeah, the game rate is frame rate independent (unless of course you are playing on a legit potato and get super low frame rate of course, then the game slows down for obvious reasons)
Depending on device the browser version can go from same as exe to waay harder than the exe. I added the rules to the description of the game in case you are curious what the rules are.
But thank you so much for taking the time to answer, will think about more visual cues <3
It'd be nice to have a small tutorial that explainhow character moves. Otherwise it's a great game that fits the theme prefectly
Yeah, you are right, we thought the easy levels force you to learn the movement but it doesnt work as well as we hoped. As the levels get harder it does become really hard to uncover and remember the movement patterns, will add a help in the description of the game for future players.
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
After playing for a bit, I still dont understand the controls fully. That being said, I still enjoyed it. The graphics are clean and the music is nice
Great fun, movement and feel felt really nice, snappy and responsive!
Surprisingly fun and addictive! Pushing the one-tap game genre to include a whole complex move set was a darn good idea, that’s refreshing!
I’m on Linux, so I used the very VERY speedy HTML version, that was still ridiculously cool to play. I’ll try again at normal speed as soon as I get my hands on a Windows PC!
Thanks for trying! The speed issue is really weird, different machines have different speeds on the browser (no idea what that is caused by). Would love to know what you think of it without the speed issues :)
