Just collaborate now, i/we do webgl. Look my profile  started  in a mech 3d team in unreal, but hower finished a game in unity webgl for jam. View user control input each game has diffrent for show. Latest has touch push tech in webgl, hud on touch is the new idea for mech to update Team.

Not unreal 5 because it has no webgl.

Answer asap to team up colab, best for webgl is unity 2019 22 & blender instead fbx.

Nice wave shooter! The beginning was a bit slow with the “goldfish” enemies advancing slowly yet hard to it with the base weapon, but the tanks and upgrades made things more interesting as it went on. I didn’t catch that you could sell your sub-weapon to get another one at first. I suppose an upgraded sub-weapon can sell for a lot of money and therefore you would not lose your progression so far as you’d invest it elsewhere. It was fun playing with rate, damage and cooldown to find the best combination for the incoming waves.

Economy was a bit scarce, and having to choose between health recovery and permanent upgrade was a hard choice; I think that health pickups help reduce the difficulty, but I’m unusure if if they appear randomly or at regular intervals, so I couldn’t exactly integrate them in my calculations.

I played it on a laptop under Linux and performance was decent, at first I had issues with the camera but it turns out it only staggered when moving sideways (?)

I had one issue where a last enemy would remain, hidden on the platform. It was, in fact, a “fish” type enemy stuck between crates. Moving around would reveal it as it would move toward you.

A second issue, more annoying, was an armor heal pick-up that spawned right above a crate (because the enemy died there). I cannot jump so I could never get it. In fact, after game restart, it was still there, so I suspect pick-ups are not reset on restart! (could be exploited to start a new game which a bunch of health pick-ups in place, to use in case things go bad).

I would like to play more, but the beginning being a bit slow I’m a little less inclined to redo it just to test more sub-weapons and level-up configurations… I don’t know how many there are, but the lock-on was pretty useful against fish enemies, and the grenades more against tanks (it’s more a moving mine than a grenade launcher?). However, I found that sending a grenade against a wall is a good way to trigger an early explosion and kill fish you attracted previously all at once. Well, I did die after that, so not sure if the explosion as friendly-fire or if some fish just managed to hit me anyway…

Wow. You're really onto something here. I know because I kept playing it until I died. My only gripe is the uneven framerate. If a low framerate is what you're going for, might I suggest at least making sure the framerate is uneven... but even then I still think 60fps would still fit the aesthetic. The arcade version of virtual-on was 60fps, at least. 


Good job, really impressed! This opening level feels like a tutorial "vr simulation" for a larger game.

Wow this is pretty neat. Very retro accurate, down to to visuals like the modelling and VFX, the sound effects, voice acting and music, the 2D art assets. I'm too young to have experienced the 32 bit era as a kid personally, but damn if that didn't make me feel anemoia.

Controls, movement and shooting felt pretty good. As do the visuals and sound. An arcady feel. A lot of potential here to be expanded, with more enemy types, mission types etc.

OK, this is perfect. I think UI could use some adjustment. Also, the game is pretty easy for me, so difficulty selection option could do the trick.

Was not able to make a game this round, but was thinking something just like this. Pretty much perfect! I am interested how you made this in Godot, did you use C++? First game that made me want to try that engine, all you need to do now is add more stages.  I made mistake of selling my lock-on missles for grenade launcher and didn't get a chance to switch back after that :)

No C++! It's all written in Godot's native GDScript.

For some reason this wont run on my windows machine. I can hear sounds and use the controls but the screen is completely black. Tried to turn off nvidia's overlay but no luck.

Is there a possible fix or maybe a WebGL version that can be posted? Judging by the screenshots and comments, this is a really cool game and wanna try it.

Hmm haven't heard of anything like that. What are your system specs? If you try launching the game from the Windows command prompt you might be able to see if any errors are being logged.

We tried making a webgl build, but the performance was not up to par.

Very bizarre, you're machine is certainly powerful enough to play the game. Have you noticed similar issues on other Godot games?

No issues with other Godot games. My only other guess is that I have a dual monitor setup so maybe that's causing issues? 

But the good news is it works on my laptop! So I'll try it out there a little later and give you a rating. Thanks.

really, really nice work. Nothing really to add other than I wish there was an invert look option for controller. I would legitimately pay money for this if you added that, and then made an actual level with a boss fight at the end haha this game is BEGGING for a campaign of some sort.

What a blast! Felt like I was a kid again, though I'm a bit young for the era emulated. Controls felt great, the visuals and audio were fantastic, loved the dialogue, just everything was great. Would love to see this expanded into a full game.

This felt so nostalgic, I love the art style, and the voice acting fit perfectly well.  The upgrade system was also a great touch.

Fantastic entry. Loved the action, the sound, and the modeling. Plays really smoothly, intuitive and was really just a good time. :D Felt like a 3d shmup and was TOUGH. Kudos to the whole team, and make sure you get to hear the ending song! Both are absolute slappers but the ending song is special. <3

One of the best entries to be honest! The graphics, the sound, the style, the essence of the game feel, the enemies, the little anime girl talking, perfect, chef kiss! What a great experience of game! Would love to see this expanded !

Holy freaking hell this is incredibly well made O_o 

Gameplay wise it's easy to pickup and i like how it adds extra precision by hafing mouse aiming, bot movement and shooting feel rock solid, the difficulty progression is really well balanced, and the upgrade system seems to offer a lot of variety since you have set points for each weapon and you can have only so much on one stat or another and not max everything at once.

The overall visuals and sound design really give this one tons of charm, i really dig the Saturn aesthetic you went for, with the anime character portrait during comms and all, it's authentic even in the smallest detail like the 4/3 aspect ratio and the dithering to make the translucent textures :o 

And the tune is an absolute killer, the sound effects really have that oldschool anime feel to them plus there are voice lines.

I've had a real blast playing this, it is so fun.

Fantastic :) upgrade system was intuitive and generally nice, handler's voice clips added to the experience, I love games with very "anime arcade game" style audio, and I wasn't even expecting the level of enemy variety here
