Neat little entry, especially considering you made this with a whole less time and that this is your first time using the engine ^^

Its really fun and a nice throwback to the old toy XD the music loop is nice as well, and i like the fact that you added an anouncer voice.

Gotta say though that punch speed is some serious fist of the north star stuff when you mash :p

Well done !

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I have messed around with Godot a bit in the passed, so it wasn't totally blind haha but still!

Yeah the music fit into the game a lot better than I expected, definitely a happy accident haha

Haha yeah these are some nicely oiled mechs. Speed is key lol

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it

Oh i see, but still cool game if you haven't fiddled much with the engine yet, and well happy accidents can work sometimes :p

Haha well they are for sure cause, again that is some serious speed, would be funny if you add oil management as a mechanic, like an endurance thing where if you spam too much, you go all creaky and can't punch as fast now that i think about it XD

This was fun! Just made me realise I have never played the actual physical game this is based on though haha!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I've only actually played it once or twice myself haha Thanks for playing!

Bam bam bam bam bam. Straight into the action!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Wanted the game to be quick n dirty, just like the toy it's based off lol

Submitted(+1)

I didn't realise there was a toy.

Developer(+1)

Goddam, makin me feel old and I'm only 28 lol although I guess the toy was a bit before my time too. Look up Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots and you'll see.

Small funny thing, maybe slow it down just a bit? First time I didn't even get the thing was starting and it was already over. Slower gameplay could do it good to, but it's a personal preference. Love that you took the time to add the cities under domes in the background!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! Yeah the pacing is super fast haha. If I had more time I would've liked to add a prefight screen where player 2 could tag in or out and both players could ready up to start the game, but with the time I had this was the best I could do lol I was thinking about making the fight longer, but since it's pretty much just mashing buttons I was afraid making it too long would tire people out haha definitely something to consider still though. Thank you for noticing the domes! A small detail I was afraid most people would miss, but I think really helps add more to the scene. Thanks for playing!

had a chuckle playing this game! Computer was difficult though hahaha! Nice entry! Well done

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it! Yeah I wish I had time to play test it with multiple people. I like to think my button mashing skills are pretty good so I'm able to beat the computer half the time, but I was worried it'd be too fast for some. Thanks for playing!

the announcer voice is hilarious... really enhanced the gameplay experience

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad I was able to sneak it into the game in the last hour lol

Submitted(+1)

Not much but quick and simple. The punching is hilarious, but in a good way.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah got less time to work on it than I wanted so I just wanted to focus on making a fun little simple thing. Yeah the punching amuses me, especially since they're supposed to be big hulking mechs and punching that fast lol. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Fun and simple. I always enjoy button-mashing.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Button-mashers have been a favorite of mine since childhood :

Submitted(+1)

The animation of super fast punching is hilarious, props for that. This could very well be a minigame in a wii-ware sort of game

Developer

Thank you! I've definitely been thinking of adding this as a mini game for a larger game, or just make a larger game with this being the central game mechanic. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for playing!

Nice little start to a game! Animations were great - really felt like the physical game, going at each at other! :D

Developer

Thank you! Exactly what I was going for. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Fun little game! That AI is fast XD

Developer

Thank you! Haha yeah, I can only beat it half the time myself. Didn't want it to be too easy now ;

Hi! Good job for just a few days. Congrats on your first full game in Godot. I'm thinking of taking part in a Godot jam next month, although I've never touched it. Should be fun playing with it :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you thank you! I'm glad you said that, I was just wondering about a Godot jam. It's a nice engine, the way it's built definitely works better with my brain than Unity so far.

Thanks for playing!

Fun and fast! Great job!

Developer

Thank you, thanks for playing!

Amazing doing this all on your own! The designs were fun and the music great! Was really fun to play with two players!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Glad you and your player two had fun, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Simple but surprisingly fun. My left hand challenged my right hand for a mech match, first to 5. Right hand won 5-2

Developer

Thank you! I like how much people are enjoying challenging themselves lol thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Very nice <3.  It's nice to see lots of Godot games getting made!  I think some on hit effects may have given everything a little more weight.  It was fun playing against yourself though XD

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! :) Yeah i'v been liking Godot, nice it's getting some love. I definitely want to add some effects and stuff for sure. Maybe even like camera shake once the fight starts or something. And yeah playing against myself was lots of fun in testing lol thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I liked playing 2P alone tbh - apparently I'm right handed because that one kept winning

Developer

Haha I did that a lot in the testing and it was a ton of fun lol I will say that there is some randomness to how  much damage each button press does, but still, it's generally a good indicator :) thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Great job!  The music was especially cool, because I found myself punching to the beat of the music as soon as it started, and it motivated me to never surrender and to keep punching.  The multiplayer is also a great addition.  Way to Godot!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The music fitting like that was a happy accident that I'm glad worked out haha. Thanks for playing!

Developer

Super simple, plays right in the browser. Can finish the game in literally 10 seconds if you wanted. Also grab a friend if you want, some single keyboard multiplayer in this game!
