It's lovely when the remakes (like for example Crash and Spyro) can bring bring us back to memories of when we were younger and move us like they did back then!

Good afternoon and thanks for hosting the jam :) Just wanted to ask a question about this rule

  1. Majority of the code and Assets must be made during the jam. Art, shaders, music, and sound assets made before the jam can be used as long as you have the rights.

Can we use our own models we have made previously? I have a few street assets such as traffic lights and feel too lazy to make new ones again haha!  Thank you!  

Any chance you would be free to help with a few quick loopable songs please? 😁

Hello :)  Feel free to use it! No plans on continuing it on our end but don't mind if someone else wants to run with it honestly :)  (Just as a warning though the teleportation to the bonus section breaks on build but works in editor so beware of that! )

Oh also forgot make sure Maintain Offset is checked on in both the settings for the orient, point and rotation constraints! This quick rig isnt built to work with no offsets 

Not sure about in Unreal but this is how you set up a simple IK for leg or arm in Maya. The part where you set the preferred angle you just hold right click over the bone after rotating it to the position how you would like to see it bend.

That was very pretty!  My only critique was it felt like when you jump your in the air too long. Or maybe instead how high you jump is based on how long you hold just so you can get back to the ground quicker perhaps.

Yeah I had it enabled for another project I was working on and it looked amazing before the fps tanked horribly on my gpu haha! Awee I think you did a good job just maybe make the scene a bit darker and add lights on the mech maybe!

Which program did you use to create the ik rig?  Or do you just mean ik in unreal where it plants the foot where it should be?  And awee it's just a jam be happy with where you go to and use what you learnt to build upon your next game :)  I'm not so great at animation myself though haha (Mixamo is my friend).

I get the feeling this uses Lumen right?  The level was very pretty and I loved the death sounds for the aliens as they flung across the screen haha! The mech movement I think needs a bit of work it seemed quite sluggish though but overall good effort :)  

Like others mentioned had a bit of an issue with the camera where it freaks out but otherwise fun!

But yep the combat definitely needs some loving haha! Ran out of time to make it better sadly...

Yeah the mech gameplay is a little shonky to say the least (Hope you played the v2 though v1 was more shonky haha! ) but starting to think it might be a good idea so will fix it up for sure! And wanted to add a directional damage indicator but ran out of time sadly xD  Thank you for the nice review :)  

This was fun! Just made me realise I have never played the actual physical game this is based on though haha!

You hit the nail on the head I hope clones never become an actual thing with humans because geez they will have it rough... If you havnt already you should watch a British movie called Never Let Me Go.

If the story is ever continued she would be replaced many times while every other character has to act as though nothing has happened so not sure about peace the poor thing! But would have one of them eventually break the cycle!

Had good fun with it thank you! Just thought it was a bit strange some parts where the ai seems to be able to shoot through multiple trees at an angle to hit you! 

Someone is having fun with UE5's new destruction system haha!  Love just delivering to a building I have just demolished, good fun :D  

That was a sad little tale, good though!  

Solid start, found it very hard to actually see the default weapons shots against the floor texture!  

As the previous reviewer said it's great to see a game on here where your being a pacifist instead of destroying everything that moves haha (I am guilty of that with my teams game). 

I also cacked up laughing when I saw one of the bins hit a refugee and realised they are probably more durable than the mech itself!

It's a solid start especially for a browser game! Would love to see more of it. The feedback the enemies show from being show was also really cool :)  

I felt so pro till the third/fourth ring and then had come crashing down... literally xD  That is a really unique concept tough :)  

That was really well put together and responsive which you want for a fighting game so well done! Loved the Zaku colours you used too for one of the mechs haha!  

I will say as other have those controls though really need some love but that is just a simple fix :)  

Awe that was a lovely little point and click! Loved the Robo Dog haha! My only complaint would be that it felt a little directionless at first but that just makes it like any of the earlier Sierra games anyway. That was awesome though :)  

Oh and not sure if you would want to do them or not but if you want to make any voice sound more robotic or machine like just open the file up (I used audacity for this), duplicate the voice then just slide it across!  I found out this little trick while doing voices for my own project

That was cool! My team had a similar idea to try and do a anime episode idea with our game too! 

My only critique would be maybe to give feedback of some kind when you hold right click to shoot like zoom in the camera a little or maybe hide the aiming reticle till you do it!  

Loved how immersive this was at making you actually feel like actually being in a mech!  Had an issue where a enemy clipped through a side of a hill to come kill me though haha!  

That was very well written, definitely felt like the main character was an actual character! Would like to see more :)

Oh many the amount of mech anime openings I watched for this project its ridiculous the amounts of fanservice in them haha like constantly floating naked silhouettes and stuff like that. And yeah shonen knows exactly what its marketing though but I would say that's a industry wide thing more so...  Its rare you get ugly main characters unless they are meant to be comic relief. 

Omg thank you so much for the advice!  Starting to apply it to my own pages now thank you!  Just found GifCam, geez its a handy little program. Will have to go and fix up some of my tags though for sure :3
