the driving felt very satisfying. good job on the damping of the body and the animation stuff. good job and well done!

Awesome game! Very relaxing, the environment was made well and it was fun to roll around and use the hills to save battery!

It looks beautiful. The tutorial completely went over my head and I didn't really understand anything so I couldn't play much of the game. The SFX were all very varied and cool, although their volumes were all over the place. I still really liked the audio overall though, very atmospheric.

Great game!

Nice graphics and cool mechanics. Shorter than I would like.
I felt like the gameplay during the night was a bit too simple, as I was just waiting for the batteries to charge to be able to drive forward.
There was also a bit of "information overload" on the screen, but I dig that stuff, so I didn't mind.

Well done! ;]

Thank you for playing. I had planned for it to be longer, and I wanted to add more devices and a few quests, but I ran out of time :)

Wow. This must have been some work. Everything works flawlessly, day/night cycle, tire-tracks, difficult terrain, etc.

Wish more games were 3D this jam, the aesthetic is so retro and pleasant.

I'm glad you enjoyed playing :)

Great job with the rover. It controls really well, looks like a realistic vehicle, engine sounds fit well, too. Mars surface is a bit empty but it's exactly that I expected, so it's alright. Tutorial is well done, the game is easy to pick up and play, the objective is clear and I didn't have any technical issues.

The only issue I see with the game right now is lack of challenge. Maybe if the terrain was a little bit more difficult to navigate, it would be more fun.

Well done!

Thanks for the valuable feedback :)

Seems daunting at first, but when you get the hang of it its actually really simple and fun. Great game

A few design things though, I was able to do the entire mission without worrying about the battery, since I had the solar panels and RTG up during the day, and RTG during the night. Also didn't think there was a necessity to have lights on at night, so maybe you make it darker at night to make it more necessary. It was also very easy to avoid overloading the batteries. Maybe some enemies/aliens to watch out for on missions haha, could be cool.

The SFX was very well done, and the trails are also very impressive. The graphics, fun, and controls were the categories I felt this game really shined in.

Expanding on this game can be super worth, if you decide to do so!

Initially, the game seemed quite challenging, possibly due to the overwhelming interface. However, after a few minutes, I got a bit addicted :D . I feel the idea has potential for a full release version. Keep it up ! :)

Such a unique idea! Great work on the art.  I can tell a lot of work went into this and it is very impressive that it was made in such a short period of time!

It's such a big game, are you sure you made it in 9 days?) I was overwhelmed with all the functions that are present

Developer(+1)

Yes, everything was done within those 9 days... I planned this game a bit too ambitiously, which resulted in me spending way too much time on it at the expense of good quality sleep. Thank you for playing :)

This game is a rover driving simulation. Regulate your power in order to get the most out of your drive train while never letting the battery fill up completely.

There is a bug in the game: the auto function of the batteries does not disable like it's supposed to, and I abused it.

I never really felt in danger of overloading the batteries, and left the generator running the entire time. That said, this does not provide enough power to get you uphill during the night time.

The tutorial at the start was very helpful in understanding the complex interface, well done in this respect.

I'm curious about the kind of gravitational force required on the object to make that hilly terrain feel so real. I never felt in danger of capsizing, but you can feel the physics of the hills.

Despite the problems seen, there was a lot of care given to this project, and that is to be commended. I can only imagine the crunch time you've put on yourself to get to the finish line, so take a break for a bit before you continue on your journey.

Developer (1 edit)

The AUTO mode operates in a way that the charging module (only when not damaged) dynamically oscillates between charging and discharging based on energy production and demand.
I see that the energy system needs further refinement, as some players experience battery overcharge while others do not, depending on their playstyle.
Thank you for the valuable feedback :)

At the beginning it seemed that the game was very hard. (due to massive interface) but after a couple of minutes the gameplay became very addictive. If you improve the idea, you can release the full version of the game.
i like it <3 hope u win

Incredible game! The details are pretty good. At first i was scared of all that controls but the tutorial is well done.

WOW! It was awesome 15 minutes of gameplay :O

At first when I saw ALL THE CONTROLS I was a little frustrated and thought, that the game would be TOO NERDY, but it wasn't. (I think you should open up the control one by one along the tutorial explains them)

Also I think you should add some recoil or penalty for turning on the generator and panels for too long, for now it doesn't make any sense to turn them off

Overall it was very interesting to plan the charging routine and control the rover. NICE WORK!

Good job, I can see it becoming a nice little exploration game if you choose to expand on it after the jam

Thank you for trying out my game :)
