The game was pretty extreme. The flamethrower is a nice weapon choice, I wish it was a bit more lethal though. Also the mouse controls are kinda useless in this game and I think I'd feel more comfortable using just the keyboard or a controller.
The graphics and the audio are great and on point. The Santa fight, even though not very challenging, was very fun.
Great job, I really liked the game!
This is one of the first games I played this jam, forgot to leave a comment/rating!
Seriously impressive stuff, good variety, game feel. Honestly feels like a well made chapter one of something very cool indeed :)
Very fun game. That santa battle was something else lol
That was quite a journey! Needs a bit of polish imo, but it has potential
Great job! The game lacks some polish but has a lot of content and is fun to play.
I liked that the levels are quite different from each other and there even is a boss battle! Final boss is great: so many different moves, and he puts your skills to the test. When Santa got control of forces of gravity, the game became very chaotic but I managed to save the Christmas.
I think the platforming controls could be improved on: they feel a bit floaty. But it's still a very enjoyable game!
Good luck with your future projects!
Nice game! Great idea and really fun to play. Great job!
Nice platformer game, I think graphics and music fits together. I just don't know how flamethrower overload affect the game. Also, I think that it would be better if the flamethrower was recharging or cooling during the time it is not firing
yeah we wanted to that and sort of forget
Fun and difficult! I tried rushing and dodging enemies, with the help of dashing and double jumps that was very fun and exciting! Overall the game has really fun and well done mechanics, great job.
thank you so much for playing, we know people will try the run strat so we added those traps and I think it did the job
I couldn't make it past the 3rd level, but I'm bad at platformers. Or maybe being a Nicholas myself, I secretly didn't want to fight St. Nick (The Capitalist). Fun platformer though, and good use of the first level to act as a mechanics tutorial. Ho ho holy cow, so many flaming penguins! Well done!
lol yeah the 3rd level is a bit tricky with all the penguins but the Santa fight is really worth it, a little nick vs nick.
Thank you for playing!
Surprisingly fun to speedrun! The difficulty of actually defeating enemies without getting damaged proved to be too hard, so I went for the "dodge everything and rush to the end" strategy. It was really fun to do that. I managed to beat santa... and what a crazy fight that was!! One control issue I had was that I expected him to fire the flamethrower towards the mouse cursor -- but it seemed to be entirely dependent on if you face left or right with the arrow keys. Speaking of the flamethrower, the overload mechanic seemed to be unavoidable. I would have liked a way to reset that somehow without having to force an overload to get back to 0%.
The dash move was really satisfying. A few jumps felt a bit unfair where you can't see what's below you and have to trust fall. Level 3 was pretty nuts too with how many enemies there were! But I somehow managed to get past on my first try, after a few deaths trying to jump on the penguin-infested platforms at the beginning of the level. Also since the presents often had penguins inside them, I started to avoid opening them entirely.
Great job on this! I had fun beating it
thanks for the great feedback we’re glad you enjoyed it, about the flamethrower we thought about it at the start and just never got around to doing it
I enjoyed the gameplay. The difficulty felt just right. The graphics were cute too. I didn't really understand the purpose of the Overload meter in the game, so I'm not sure if it was super on theme. I think you did a good job though. :)
Nice game! I feel some parts of it felt like it was a better strategy to avoid the baddies than kill them all which gave me some interesting decisions to make and often left me all out of nuts!
I thought I understood what this game had to offer by the second level, but the third level and final boss level are definitely worth the experience. I had a lot of fun with this one!
Amazing!
