game feels polished and was fun to play. The art went pretty good and supports the game! The music is really nice and I like it pretty much. I guess SFX could get some more adjustments. Good job and well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yea next time I can't ignore sfx haha

Made it just shy of 6500. Love the enemy design and goomba stomp mechanic!

I liked the variety of enemies and how silly they look. I also like that there are a lot of different abilities in player's disposal: I mostly dashed around and used overload ability, but the enemies overwhelmed me before getting to 9999.

The game feels polished and It's clear what to do thanks to the tutorial which explains the controls and mechanics. I replayed the game a couple times but it seems that every playthrough is the same so the only course is to master the game and find the perfect strategy.

Great job! Good luck with your future projects!

Fun beat em up game. Really like the art and music. Wish there was some sound effects to go with the game. The attacks and overload attack was a lot of fun. Make it to 6k on first try so thought I could make it too 9999... after four more tries make it to 6.5k and had to fight the big guys... maybe I will take another stab at it later (pun intended).

Thanks for submitting it was fun!

Developer

Thank you for playing! The big guys spawn at 6.75k and weigh the elevator down bigtime, messes me up so much lol. Yea I'm seeing a lot of comments about the lack of sfx, which I won't put on low priority next time. I'm glad you liked the music!

Really fun! I managed to get up to 6k points, the idea is unique and overloaded attacks are very satisfying to clear a huge amount of enemies from the platform, well done!

It’s very well made arena slasher foundation! I really had fun playing it. I like how flying enemies flies towards the camera when you use overload action, it adds the depth ;) Difficulty curve is also well made, I haven’t any problems playing thru up to 8k+ points. Very good submission!

Developer

Thank you for playing, nice score :)  My personal best is 7k haha. Glad you had fun with it!

I love the sprites. Nice aesthetic and character design.

Gameplay felt good, but I would have liked more audio feedback on sword swings and hits. Or if they had audio events, the levels were too low for me to hear.

Great music!

Developer

Yea I had them in initially, but at the time we had like an hour left, and I thought the sfx wasn't cutting it . I didn't want it to mess up the music experience so I removed most of the sfx haha.
Thank you so much for playing!

Loooove the use of 2D - 3D. Slashing a big wave of enemies off the side is SUPER satisfying.

Really cool entry, nice job!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thank you for playing

Wow, I did not expect to find another elevator game in this jam :D But very different from mine :-)

Love the combination of 3D and 2D.

This is an arcade-style beat'em up game where an overwhelming force jumps you, weighing down your elevator. Utilize a powerful attack to clear out the mob and get a few more inches out of it.

I do have a central gripe with the game, but let's talk about the positives first: The presentation of the game is polished and I have not encountered bugs. The team has succeeded in their creation, and that is to be celebrated, especially for our newcomers.

There is a design choice that I don't agree with, and that's the power difference felt between normal attack and overload attack. Normal attack felt rather ignorable, meaning that all I was really doing was waiting for the overload attack to be available. I think that while this current state likely felt natural, the struggle against the crowd in those interim moments taught me helplessness.

Make no mistake, though. This is a strong entry, and you will grow in said strength.

Nice idea to combine 3d and 2D, a bit of horror style.

Had a lot of fun with this! I dig the art style and music ^^

Developer

I'm glad you liked the music as it was my first time composing for a jam. Casbea worked on the art, it was her first jam so its nice everything worked out! Thank you for playing

I love the artsyle and the music but i have gripes with the ui and game design. the ui is just a little dull for a game about ascending through hell and could be punched up a bit. also the fact that you can dash is really nice but you cant dash through enemies and you dont get any invincibility on that dash so its a bit akward to use. also you have to wait for the attack animation to be done to both dash and jump and that can feel a little bad to use as well. other than those problems i loved the variation in enemys and the overload ability the player has is pretty cool, i love how the enemies go flying.

This review is very helpful thank you! We were trying to make the UI fully diegetic and so we were limited in making it look a bit more awesome. I also wanted to add a few more features, and I'm sure the team did as well, but we were short on time so some areas took a hit. Thank you for playing
