Wildcards Used
The Good Ending - has more than one "win" condition / Unspoken Stories - there is story behind. Maybe some robbery happend? Maybe someone is scared? Who knows!

Game Description
You work as an elevator operator and you have to make sure, that the elevator will not get overloaded as last time! If it happens again, you will be FIRED! ALSO make sure, that you did not piss off to many people, because your boss only has a limited amount of leniency. It is very simple, you just click to the floor where the elevator should go. Easiest work in the word! Or not? This game has multiple endings (one of the WILD CARDS): When Elvator gets OVERLOADED it crashes and kills all the people inside. And of corse, you will get fired (and go to the prison propably) You pissed off to many people and you get fired You can also find a few hidden easter eggs in the game! Can you find them all? 🐭

How does your game tie into the theme?
You have to make sure, that the elevator will not get overloaded or bad things can happen.

Great art style

Submitted

I really like this! It's got this great kind of kids British cut-out paper animation feel to it. A lot of fun! A clear simple premise executed really well 😁

Very charming concept and exectution! Loved the art and sound design. I managed to get a score of 134 before the inevitable overload. Really cool game!

Well executed idea and I love the graphic style. The possible interactions with the game world are also fun

Cool game! I love the art style - it reminds me of children's cartoons that were animated in a similar style. You can also tell that the game loop took a lot of tuning to get right.

Nice! I got 60! That was really fun. I love the art style and the relaxing music. Very polished cozy game. I really enjoyed all the details added. Was really cool when the 3rd floor unlocked. I could imagine a full game of this where it keeps adding more floors, maybe multiple elevators, and more mechanics. Very cool concept and well-executed. Great work!

I really like the graphic style, it's well-polished. The passengers are very polite, even waiting to enter until everyone exits the elevator :) A pleasant and relaxing game.

Good work :D I really like it. Little cozy game with great assets

Very good game. Nice and simple. And even details like passengers running before door closes. Very nice. Nice relaxing game to play when you don't want to do much. The ony thing that may be good if you could cancel elevator destination somehow

Very polished game, and nice take on the theme with an elevator.  We also made a game about an elevator haha :) The music was nice and chill, and the art was very nice as well.

I felt that the game was a bit slow, it does get hard later on, and it is very balanced, so great job on that! However it would be nice to have another mode with faster gameplay or a faster progression.

Great entry!

WOW, art style in this is beautiful. Reminds me of some kids books from my childhood.

Overall though, gameplay is fun and I do feel overwhelmed / overloaded having so many people waiting. I do wish it was overall a bit faster but I feel the slowness does kinda add to that overwhelmed feeling.

Great job!

Really loved the art style and music. Like others, the pacing was a bit slow, but overall I enjoyed it. I think I got a little over 100 points before I overloaded. I couldn't tell if the emotions on people's faces were changing or not. I'd need another playthrough to check, but if they were going from smiles to frowns if you took too long like I thought they were, then great detail there :)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your comment. You noticed correctly that the emotions are changing based on how much time the person is waiting for the elevator. It also indicates you that the person will soon be mad and will turn around and you will lost one life.

Very great game!

This is a genuinely awesome idea. Great job. As other's said it's a bit slow but I think that's something that can be iterated and improved on. Well done!

The game art and sound direction is really breathtaking and fit well with the theme! But I think the gameplay is a bit too slow, especially on closing/opening the elevator and letting people in and out. Also the numbers that pop up over the people's head are too small to be read comfortably, so I suggest for it to be bigger and clearer.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your suggestion. I want to work on the game after the jam voting ends, polish it and implement things that didn't make it to the game in time. I also have working iOS and Android builds - can be fun to play on mobile/tablet.

Just FIY: you do not need the numbes of the floors in the bubles. The people has the same cloth color as the floor they want to go.

Submitted

Oh I never notice the cloth color matching with the floor, an in-game tips about that would be nice. However this kind of information may not be accessible for people with color blindness, so I suggest there could be more clear indicator aside from the color, like the number in the bubbles but bigger.

Now I know what it's like to be an elevator. It's no wonder old-timey human elevator operators protested the march of technology.

Your art and audio were both Very charming. Nice elegant game design. I might have liked a slightly faster pace to start out, but that's just personal preference. Lots of people prefer slow-paced games.

amazing art style and a fun ui made this great game all the more fun. while i never felt like i got to be to challenged it was still a very fun and laid back experience that i would keep playing just to scratch that itch of seeing the little people walk on and off the elevator!
