Nice work! Despite the simplicity it was fun, the choice of a new item at the end of each turn keeping the player engaged and letting them strategize. Good variety of enemies and items!

I got level 10.
At first I thought it was just an RNG based game, but it turns out it's also a merge game, after there were 3 of the same object and they merged together. Well thought.
You can effectively be proud of what you achieved in 50 hours 😊 I got to level 43 on my first try, so I have to have another go at it now that I got a better grip of the game mechanics.
The concept is simple but very well executed and very addictive!
you made me give it a second try after I died to give it a go with a bit more strategy, that says something. Well done on completing your game & making it feel so balanced as well :)
My favourite part about this game was how the gameplay evolved over time - I started out just trying to fill the board with as many things as possible, then it got to a point when the board was full and I had to hope to roll 3 of the same item, and by the end I'd got most of the items maxed out and there was less chance involved - it's interesting how an early, mid and late game came out from those mechanics, and it was definitely fun to see that! The main mechanic was also very fun, I loved the idea of a randomised match-3 sort of game, and I loved the big numbers too. I would've loved to see that expanded on - maybe not just adding more levels of items, since collecting 729 orbs to get to level 6 sounds a little tedious, but seeing the numbers get even bigger and more impressive throughout gameplay would be great. I still do like the progression though; I did enjoy ending the game doing hundreds of points of damage. The variety in enemy graphics was also a nice feature. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but I don't recall fighting the same enemy twice, so that was impressive! Well done on making this game, it's a really interesting execution of a great idea!
Thank you for checking the game out ! and thank you for the suggestions, I do have a lot of similar ideas on what to add after the jam.
Will be careful to preserve the feeling of progression, while also avoiding making the game too tedious.
I also like how you interpreted the early, mid and end stages of my game, didn't really think of it that way but will try to build upon this.
Thank you again for the kind and encouraging words :D
It's simple but I like seeing the items upgrade. Good job on the animations. It really felt like a slot machine. Very satisfying. Good job.
Nice game - well presented :)
The mechanic was simple but super satisfying; spent way longer playing than I expected to going in :)
Great game! Plays quickly and intuitively, with rounds feeling snappy and increasing in danger at a good pace.
Would love to see some of the additional effects you've mentioned elsewhere in the comments - would add a fun additional layer of strategy :)
Made it to level 25 - very impressed at some of the levels other players have reached, clearly I have a lot to learn!
A fun take on a familiar formula, only issue i had was sometimes when i got 3 of a kind nothing would happen. I like how you could pick what to add to your machine, it added some strategy
Thank you for checking the game out ! Yeah, sorry about that, it was a bug that I only found out after the submission was closed.
Accidentally added the 'tooth' item twice on code (it was just an index number), which caused the code to not count the items correctly.
Will try to fix this once I updated the game, thank you again for the kind words !
This is the only entry that maxed out in every category. I'm not even biased, it's just that good. Such a simple, yet elegant concept, beautifully executed, and very enjoyable to play!
What a fantastic entry. I though I'd give it a try and then got to level 73. It plays so smoothly and so fast (which is great, because if the player is doing so little between the fights, let everything happen fast - spins, shop, attacks, next).
Great stuff.
I went in blindly, without reading the description and thought to myself that this game's really cool, and then 3 elements joined into one and I was like "wha? that's awesome!".
So yeah, very solid entry, I had a blast.
As a bit of critique I have to mention mixing pixel-art characters with not-so-much-pixel-art everything else, but that's just nitpicking. Oh, and once I hit level 60 or so, I bought out everything I could, so the game was just clicking spin and watching numbers go down ;)
Thank you for playing that long :D
Yeah, originally planned having enough items to at least cover the board, but did not have enough time.
I do agree with the art not being too 'consistent', but I had to prioritize finishing the game in time so have had to work with what I have in hand.
Again, thank you for checking the game out and the fantastic feedback.
Simple, easy to understand gameplay. Very basic right now since everything is just +2 to damage or to health, but I can see some potential here for combining items with others in the slot reels for multiplier bonuses. Nice job!
Thank you for the kind words ! yeah, have planned to add other effects like crit, dodge and defend at the start.
But did not expect to encounter tons of issues and bugs with the code near the end.
Ended up using my remaining time in debugging, just trying to get a working game :D
I am definitely hopeful and will try to update the game in the future.
Simple but fun gameplay. The speed that it moved on between turns made it hard to see what was going on each round, once I started to understand the deal it made a bit more sense. good job!
Nice and simple, that's what we need more often! I like how you can get used to gameplay so quickly, almost automatically. Very well made!
I got into it so quickly :O
I can really see it as the main mechanic for a sort advantage
it's simple and addictive - love it!
