Very cute! I like that the pointer can run out of battery to force the user to make choices.

I love the idea of a cat based laser pointer game. Its another set of things that are joined. And like Mark said in the theme video the connection gets broken at times.

And oh my gosh I enjoyed the accent. "tarnation" haha

Random thought (you've probably already considered): I accidentally clicked quit in the browser game and had to refresh to start it

The only constructive feedback I have is that I didn't realize I was starting at the oasis. Second play-thru I realized it was implied by the dialog. First play-thru I thought i had to find it haha. My brain is definitely a little fried. If you wanted to add another clue you could add a box on the minimap while he says "oasis" or some signs in the level pointing to it

Great job!

Cute and well polished! Everything looks well put together.

But I wish the cats didn't wander off so much--it can be hard to get their attention with the laser pointer. It also takes a while to recharge (or to start recharging), and while I'm waiting, the cats often scattered. If the battery charged faster and the cats followed more closely, I think that might make the game a bit easier to control.

YES! Finally found another Cat game here in the almost 6000 submissions haha. The idea is amazing of using the laser pointer to bring the cats to where they should go - really well implemented and great job on the music and art! Love it!

Cats rule!

Well this game was definitely not what I was expecting in any sense.  From the setup, the controls and the core loop.  I was honestly expecting a puzzle game more focused on controlling the resources of your laser pointer.  Though it's still sorta interesting to try and keep a giant group of cats together throughout the level.

My Main suggestion on that though:

  • Maybe making the laser pointer have a limited number of recharges could be useful, or possibly making it so the cats run away if the laser pointer isn't there?  Could be due to it being dark possibly?  Which would lead to a playstyle more around trying to avoid running out of power which would definitely add another strategic element for sure.

This was a blast! Love the concept and the art, audio and voice acting were all top notch! Such a comfy game, would play a full story campaign and chill.

This is so cute. I didn't think I was going to actually finish getting all 20 cats, but then I did. There was something really chill about it. Well done!

The visuals of this games are great! I also liked the idea of using laser pointers to lead the cats.

One suggestion I have is to fix the Z order of the sprites, the cat would go behind the background elements like those milk fountains.

Other than that the game is quite polished, there are even some voice lines in the beginning

Overall, an amazing entry to the jam! Great job!

Adorable, charming game, and I really loved the main mechanic of using the laser! The way you fit it into the theme is a bit of a stretch but other than that great work!

Adorable game and amazing art!

The game is amazingly polished for a 48 hour jam. The attention to detail is really cool to see! I loved the bit of voice acting in the beginning. I agree with Boykala's idea to add some sort of  secondary gameplay loop, but great work!

Developer

thanks for the playthru jackson! Glad you enjoyed it!

super fun and polished game.  It’s short but the cat collecting combined with some sort of secondary gameplay loop like taking care of the cats at the sanctuary would make an awesome full game!

Very cute, and I liked the little pbbt sound the cats made sometimes. I would've liked a clearer understanding about the cat behavior--sometimes they'd seemingly just lose interest and wander off while the pointer was on in front of them.

Developer

Great feedback! But... they're cats... y'know? Haha, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah I just couldn't tell if that was supposed to be happening or if it was a bug. Some kind of acknowledgement that that may happen would make it feel more intentional.

Developer

Yea, that's fair. Thanks again for the feedback and giving the game a try!

The art looks really good. The idea is also unique.

Very impressive for a game made in 48 hours. Very charming, but needs a bit more spice. Good job

Developer

agreed. Needs more spice for more cat toots

How does one come up with Wangle Crunk for a name?

We always put crunk in the name. Slowly expanding the gamematic crunk universe.

I love this game! Controlling the cats and getting them all into the garden while trying to stay low on laser usage is a really fun idea for a little game like this. The art and sound effects are incredible too! Also, I'd argue the way this particularly fits the theme is the way you have to keep cats "joined together" to you using the pointer and maintain their attention.

Thanks for the kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to play it!
