Really awesome game! The lighting elements are super neat, and help a lot to draw me in.

This game gave me anxiety, and I love games that are able to do that. The puzzle is a ton of fun to solve, and kept me on the edge of my seat every step of the way. If I had any critique to make, it might be that the timer is just slightly too punishing, but really I should just git gud. One of the best I've played this jam.
This is a really cool concept and I think you executed it well! The puzzles reminded me of Portal a bit, in a really good way. There were a few times I had soft-locked myself, and I had to restart the puzzle. That can be a little frustrating when I was already several minutes into a level. But overall this is great work, nice job!
Connecting blocks to activate different buffs and debuffs is a lot of fun! I liked the platforming systems you had in place, like wall-jumping. I think it would be cool if the buffs/debuffs were a little more essential, I was able to beat the sorcerer without using any. Maybe that's just a challenge mode ;).
If you made a 4-player couch coop fighting game out of this I would pay 20 bucks for it, no question. Nice work!
The aesthetic feels authentically retro, I liked it a lot. Each puzzle was a fun challenge, and for the most part each level was more difficult than the last, so the curve was perfect. I had to think about it for a bit, but I wasn't ever ripping my hair out, which is the perfect level of difficulty for a puzzle game.
I love the labyrinthine feeling of the levels! That's definitely how Blockbusters felt to me as a kid, this game captured it perfectly. Exploring each level was my favorite part, and it was nice to jam out to the music as I did so. One suggestion is that it might be nice to have some sort of rewinding minigame, or be able to rewind multiple tapes at once. At the end of each level I just had to wait to rewind all the tapes I collected. Also, the pixel art is fantastic, especially the movie posters. Elf, Men in Black, and I'm not sure what the third one is, but they all look great.
I love the idea that you get to try a platforming challenge to save yourself if you make a mistake! That's a really cool mechanic, nice job. I would look into using raycasting to check if the player is on the ground, rather than what I assume are an OnCollisionEnter2D and a OnCollisionExit2D method.
