Found your game while watching Mark's GMTK playlist. Really fun concept and amazingly done for under 48 hours! I love the idea of learning other languages, but I never put enough effort in to actually learn them. Speech Racer forced me to adapt and learn other languages or I else couldn't continue to play it. Would definitely play a full length game of this!

Also loved how when you died you had to type RETRY as well. Would have been cool if you had to type it in the language level you died in.

Wow, is this a game jam entry??? The concept was cool and well excecuted, the graphics and the music looks cool, and my squid if it's fun!!! Good job, 5 stars well earned!!! ๐Ÿ‘

My only complain the first people for me, that i don't remember the key's location and that i don't speak english natively, the first level was actually really hard, and i barely passed, maybe adjust a little bit the difficulty curve... (Or maybe not, i guess... Maybe i'm the only one that has this problem ๐Ÿคฃ)

This was fun! Graphics are super nice and the music really makes me feel like I'm on a mission. Really impressed with all the different environments you got in there! Do wish I didn't have to restart all over after one hit. ๐Ÿ˜…

I liked the premise, and then you hit me with other languages. Good job!

Cool game! I enjoyed the anticipation of seeing what language was coming next! Really polished graphics!

This is *really* cool, love the concept, and the presentation is fantastic.

On my second attempt, I exited my barrel roll early and died? Not entirely sure what went on there, but aside from that it was an absolute joy the entire time. The hazard indicators were nicely handled, and the backgrounds were gorgeous.

Developer

Yeah, we found this bug after the jam. It's a timer problem, when you type too fast.

Thanks for your kind words !

Ridiculously fun. Loved both the soundtrack and the presentation.

Great game, my only real complaint is that it gets slow once you figure out all of the languages and it starts looping, maybe it should speed up then?

Developer

When you came back to Night City the speed of the game is multiplied by x1.2 but yeah, it not really significative.

Very fun, managed to "loop" (go back to night city). Simple concept, good execution, hampered by slight issues:

- Do a barrel roll prompt deletes current text (even if you are typing the words for "down" or "up"), this means that you may not be able to finish a word and crash

- Sometimes you exit the barrel roll early (if you type during a barrel roll?), causing immediate death

- Improper use of your/you're in intro text (just kidding)

Overall, its amazing that this was done in 2 days!

Developer

Yes, we found all you've noticed after the jam. And i'm the only one to blame for this typo !

Thanks for your kind words !

Found this from the gmtk stream. I love the concept and I think you did a good job here.

This was absolutely hilarious to play.
Didn't expect that changing language twist.
The sudden change to Latin (and then Welsh and so on) gave me good laugh.
Really fun!

simple pero divertido

I love this! One of my absolute favourite entries so far. Felt a bit slow gameplay-wise at times but I love the concept and artwork, especially the language changing gimmick!

Nice !!!! Realy cool concept and art.

solid game! very interesting, very original concept, and very pretty

Love the twist where you switch to other languages, but the challenge seems a little flat otherwise. The levels seem similar apart from the different languages and pre-typing the characters seems to be a general strategy. I recall a previous GMTK game jam entry featured by Mark on his youtube had similar mechanics, but there were more options there so you couldn't just pre-type.  Runs out of the music theme at the end too. Otherwise the fantastic presentation nails it!

I love the changing language to one with longer words as a way of scaling difficulty!

Game's art and music are spot on, concept is great too and keeping controls fresh by exploring new worlds is really smart.

Sadly, I can't pass the first level ; when I press the spacebar, the event is not catched by your game but by the browser (FF) - thus it scrolls down.

(But I watched bits of your dev stream so I know about other worlds)

Cool work.

hi, try to play it on Chrome :)

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Way better on Chrome, was able to see every world.
And had the opportunity to hear the entire track ! It sounds so cool. (but didn't loop) The fact that it fades at the end of the last world, felt like closure on my typing journey. So nice.
